I called Mercedes Concierge services and they sent a flat bed wrecker and made arrangements for it to be taken to McGeorge Automotive. The repair shop was unable to make a full repair on our time schedule, as we needed to head home on Wednesday morning. However, the good folks at McGeorge were able to get the front end "repaired/fixed" enough so that we could drive back to Florida. Any other outcome would have had us leaving the car in Virginia and returning for it later. They really listened to our situation and found a solution that worked for us. We were thrilled! Super nice, patient and accommodating staff! We recommend them highly!

My Rivian R1S had a fist sized dent in the rear bumper that I was told would take "1-2 weeks" to repair. I was asked to give them $1,000 up front to pre-order the parts. OK. After the first week I called to see when I could pick it up to find they were waiting on insurance to approve their supplemental work and parts list, totaling over $17,000. No work being done and no notifications or calls. Insurance approved 30 days of car rental. I got my vehicle back today and had to pay $900 in rental fees because it took over 6 weeks to complete the work. They blamed insurance (probably a factor) They blamed Rivian for back ordered parts (perhaps) and had to "re-order" some parts during assembly (no explanation) I paid another $1,500 (deductible) and they were going to withhold delivery because GEICO owed them another $1,700. I was less than gracious at this point and they finally agreed to ship the vehicle (as long as I agreed to pay the $1,700 if GEICO doesn't). Communication was reactive, only becoming proactive after my multiple complaints and emails. All staff were respectful and professional in responding (even when I wasn't) and the actual work itself and detailing were very good. Would I use them again? No. Do Rivian owners in VA have other options... No. I suspect they overinflated the repair costs to GEICO leading to unnecessary and frustrating delays. I can't prove that. If Insurance wasn't involved, would this cost $17,000 to GEICO and me $3,400? Over $20K! I doubt it. They recommended I use insurance and I guess I know why! They did deliver the vehicle saving me 5 hours of round trip driving.

I explained the problem to them and suggested that it was the alternator and not the battery since the battery was fairly new and the problems I was facing are usually related to the alternator they said no I needed a new battery so I took their word. What do you know two weeks later I have the same problem I bring it in and they tell me it's the alternator!!! Real con artist over there please take your business anywhere else. I was contacted by a gruff office manager who had mistaken me as a deadbeat not as a "grieving parent". I was shocked by the tone and inflexibility and was then ordered to get my vehicle immediately of it would be towed. No options were offered to me. I paid the surgeon 100 plus dollars who then quickly dismissed me as the perceived deadbeat and briskly hung up. The solution, I'd recommend that some kind of sensitivity training be mandated just so the office manager would have an opportunity to begin to heal and feel better.
