The folks working are always kind and they get me right in when something pops up like concerning low tire pressure. I've had ongoing issues with one of my tire's valves and they've repaired it a couple of times now. They are absolutely dishonest, untrustworthy scamming frauds who will try to up sell you. I brought in my jeep which had electrical issues. I usually do most of the work on my jeep but in the middle of moving I needed to have it fixed quickly. I explained the problem to them and suggested that it was the alternator and not the battery since the battery was fairly new and the problems I was facing are usually related to the alternator they said no I needed a new battery so I took their word. What do you know two weeks later I have the same problem I bring it in and they tell me it's the alternator!!! Real con artist over there please take your business anywhere else. Just know that $55 synthetic oil change Groupon you bought is going to actually cost you $65.68. They told me when I was there that the additional charge was for oil disposal, then later told me THROUGH GROUPON, "Please read your receipt again as it clearly breaks down the charges and does not show $10.68 in disposal charges. It is $3.50 for waste oil disposal. Your car took 6 quarts of oil so the additional charge is for a quart of oil." Attitude much? What this person fails to realize is that it doesn't really matter what the extra charge is for. This is the kind of thing that makes a customer feel like they got hit by a bait and switch when they end up paying twice. This is also the kind of thing that keeps a customer from returning. A Groupon makes you feel like you got a deal. Paying on top of a Groupon makes you feel like you got duped. read more

I took my car to Seredni Tire yesterday to replace a tire that was leaking around a plug that had been placed 3 yrs ago. Two techs searched for it but could not determine which tire had the leaking plug. (I am told that that plugs are not always easy to find, especially when they are old.) They spent about an hour searching and testing for it to no avail. Unable to determine which tire was defective, they advised that I return when the tire indicator light returns and let them try again. No charge! I insisted on paying for their time trying to help me, but they were equally insistent... no charge! They were so nice and tried to help me so I will do business with them again! They failed my state inspection for bad tires. Got new tires and went back for them to pass the inspection--drove from Goochland. Was told to come back the following day as their two inspectors with busy. All they had to do was confirm that I had new tires and pass the inspection. I went in for a state inspection. Earlier in the week I had gotten in oil change from another business and the person didn't properly return the dip stick to original position, as a result oil was eject throughout the engine compartment on one side. My problem with Seredni was the technician saw the oil and decided the oil was my rack and pinion which all of a sudden needed to be replaced at a price of $1100. Without diagnosing any mechanical problem or failure he observed oil and pulled the problem out of his ass, had I not known about cars or been a trusting person I would have paid for an unnecessary repair Because I was under the impression that there was some kind of professional morality and I was completely incorrect. I advise anyone taking their car to this facility to be weary and if they're suggesting a large repair perhaps getting a second opinion. Sidenote: Once I called him on his bullshit he immediately took that rack and Pinion failure off my state inspection. But proceeded to try to charge me for a button on the window control and charge me $300. I'll personally never do business with them again and have advised all folks I know to do the same. read more

Scheduled a wheel alignment for 7:30 today. As usual I was late and arrived at 7:59. I was reassured that my lateness was not an issue and the mechanic retrieved my keys and took my car to the bay. The service is outstanding and I will definitely return for service. My service request was completed by 8:45 and I was on my way to continue my Saturday of running errands. The cost is affordable. Still writing this somewhat annoyed so bare with me. I dropped my car off pre hours of operation, so they could do my state inspection while I was at work, and I could pick it up when I got off. Got a call around 11:30 saying my car was ready for pick up, nothing more, nothing less. Fast forward to 3:00 when I pick up my car, I hand the lady my coupon for 1/2 off a state inspection and she mentions that I should have given the coupon at the time of service, but they'll honor it of course (remember, I dropped my car off before they were open, was I supposed to give the coupon to tape my coupon to my car door?) any who, I handed her a printed coupon from the website, she grabs it, and I kid you not crumpled it up, like how dare I bother her with my *gasp* paper coupon. Maybe she was having a bad day, who knows, but I just thought that was really odd and kind of rude, I could get passed that. What made me not so happy was after she so graciously honored my *paper* coupon, she tells me the price is 22.95. "hmmmmm," I thought "that's a lot for a state inspection, especially for having a coupon." So I asked her something along the lines of why is it so much? She said you had to get a rear bulb on my plates replaced and it was $1.95 for the part and $11 FOR LABOR. Probably seeing the look of confusion on my face she asked "Oh did nobody call you?" NO NOBODY CALLED ME because I sure as heck would not have approved a $13 light bulb that I could have done myself. She said something along the lines of that bulb would have caused my inspection to be failed, and I would have to come back to get it reinspected. Which if they would have called, I would have had no problem with because a re-inspection is like $1 and still would have came out $10 under what they charged to change the bulb. Rather than rectify the situation, she just pretty much said sorry, there's nothing that we can do. I'm clearly annoyed, but at the end of the day, I got my car inspected for the year, and now know to stay clear of this place in the future. Lesson learned. read more

They used the incorrect oil filter for my vehicle. I generally complete my own oil changes but this time I was in a hurry to get it done and there was a Groupon that made it a reasonable price for full synthetic. In any case I always use a filter that is rated for synthetic oil but that can be overlooked as I know it would be more expensive. In any case they used a Carquest R85334 and my car uses a Carquest R84712. Now I understand as long as it does not leak it will work but I still prefer to have the correct part for the job. Or at least a heads up, like "Hey we don't have the exact fit but we have one that will work. Will that be okay?" In any case I suggest checking to make sure they use the correct parts or just taking your vehicle elsewhere is probably safer. They get two stars because they did notice a problem with one of my tires and save me a headache later. read more

If you drive an even moderately nice car, avoid this place. I took my car in for low coolant & an oil change. After driving 2 blocks when they had "fixed" a coolant leak the low coolant light comes on. The proceed to tell me it's fine. 6 TIMES I had to go back to this shop for the same low coolant and check engine light for coolant. After over a grand spent & my time taken off from work, they send me to the dealer and admit no errors. I have never given a bad review to an auto shop after using 5 other local shops, but this past month of incompetence and unaccountability for their work is unacceptable. Edit: A few days after I wrote this review, I was told that I had to repair a deteriorating oil filter housing directly as a result of this shop's oil change in addition to the bad repairs listed above. read more

First complaint - their website absolutely sucks. Allows you to waste your time scheduling an appointment when in reality they don't take appointments - first come, first served. So what's the point of the website? 2nd complaint - I took my car there to get a new set of tires on that I bought from Tire Rack.com. Warning: if you have low-profile performance tires and solid alloy wheels do not take your car here! They will scratch the hell out of your alloy wheels and then deny doing it, even though I watched them struggling and banging around with the tire machine through the service bay window! It appeared to me they did not have the right equipment or know how to change out these tires. read more

Honest guys. I will come back. Some mechanics down the street tried to upsell me by $400 when I went in to get a state inspection. I passed on them, and got a second opinion. The guy at Seredni explained that one of the problems they'd said must be fixed was legit. He quoted me a lower price and didn't twist my arm. Also said that the problem was not in a state that ought to fail a state inspection, but that it was a good idea to get it replaced before another year and the next inspection. As soon as it is budgeted, I will be returning here to get the fix he recommended. It's just nice not to be lied to. read more

Bought an oil change Groupon yesterday, called same day and was able to get an appointment for the next day at 4:30! They were not able to schedule my inspection as well, but that was ok, I still had time to get that done and more desperately needed an oil change. They were friendly and got my oil change done in 45 minutes. The Groupon was for a $19 oil change and they charged me $3.50 on top of that to dispose of the oil...I think they should have just included that in the Groupon but it was still a good deal. I am so impressed with this place, I managed to find their Groupon for an oil change and tire rotation (which was the lowest Groupon around for an oil change). I called them up asking when they would be able to get me in and they got me an appointment that day. Not only that when I got there they took less than an hour to do everything (honestly it was so fast it was concerning). Their waiting area has two big couches for customers to wait in and free WiFi! All the employees were super friendly too! Also loved that at the end they didn't try to up sell me anything they handed me my car keys and said i was good to go. Only thing I was a little surprised by was having to pay taxes out of pocket on it (but I believe they were under $5). Tip if you're reading this when there is still a Groupon: if you mention the Groupon rate to them you don't have to purchase it before going (I think they prefer you do it that way anyway). read more

Friendly, quick, and most importantly honest. This was my second trip to this shop and now I'm wondering why I ever went anywhere else. I called to ask about scheduling an appointment to have a slow leaking tire checked out today and they told me to come right in and they'd see me right away. The couches were far more comfortable than the chairs in most auto repair shops and based on the interactions I saw between them and other customers, they seemed friendly and helpful with everyone. I didn't realize how used I was to seeing miserable employees and customers at auto repair shops. I highly recommend this shop. read more

SO IMPRESSED!!! This is my new go-to 100% for anything for my vehicle! I had a perfect experience from start to finish today. Long story short, my alternator went bad causing my car to die in the middle of Broad on a busy Tuesday morning. Since I use my vehicle for my job, I was worried. My dad and I called over to Seredni praying that they could possibly help me, and they totally came through. They took my car back IMMEDIATELY, and literally two hours later I had a new alternator, my battery had been tested and charged, and I was back on the road. Totally reasonable pricing and outstanding customer service. Both the receptionist (I can't remember her name but it might have been Sam) and the mechanic I spoke to were so nice and explained everything clearly to me. I left there feeling ecstatic that I had finally found a place to take my car that wasn't going to treat me like a clueless car owner (the week before I was ripped off by the JiffyLube down the street who charged me $109 for an oil change, and that was WITH the "discount".... yeah...). The owner sells cars at this location under the name Alpine Auto sales. I bought a $3000 as is vehicle from him 5 weeks ago. I had it off the lot two hours and the check engine light came on and I was having to turn it over twice to get it to start. I was surprised seeing as they are mechanics and thought they would have sold a car that at least lasted more than two hours before the light came on. The owner fixed it so I was ok with it and moved along. Week later light on and engine idling weird. Took it back he fixed but gave me a little nonsense about his mechanic said it was not idling funny but they worked on it an hour and a half. Took back a third time today. They fixed. Now 9 hours later light on and car idling like crazy. I will not be going back a fourth time. He already refused on the second trip back to give any money back. In my book $3000 is hard earned money. I'm not unreasonable and understand what $3000 gets you on a car but I defiantly expected more than 4 or 5 weeks out of three grand. Will also be checking on his sales license with dmv.
