The old "Cup of the Bay 2" (tear I adored that name) closed in December much to many of the local patrons dismay. Fortunately, the establishment reopened this month under a new name "Cup 2," along with a new staff, a newly renovated patio, inside renovations and some crazy technological updates. It's perfectly located on Cranberry Highway, before Buzzards Bay, on the way to the Borne Bridge. The original owner of Cup of the Bay, ran an establishment located on central street in Onset, MA. Each summer this coffee house captured a little piece of my heart. It was a picture perfect, old Victorian home, serving up amazing mixtures of different coffee blends, fresh bagels and homemade cream cheese. All within walking distance of my summer home and the beach. They shut down last year and Onset just hasn't been the same since. But! At lease there was still Cup of the Bay 2. Patrons shifted from the primary hot spot in Onset, to this updated version, with an amazing outdoor patio. Last summer, while studying for the bar exam, I'd go in early, start a tab with one of the girls and order iced snickerdoodle coffees and Mexican Lattes and do bar questions in the sun all day!! (yes I actually passed). In December, when my boyfriend heard rumors that they were closing the second location, I was devastated. With the thought of my summer coffee spot gone, I got in my car, drove down from Boston, only to find a sign on the door saying that they were no longer open for business. You can imagine how excited I was to hear that this new "Cup 2" had opened up. It still has the same "Cup of the Bay" feel, just with a more modern touch. You can order delicious paninis and all of the old "Cup of the Bay's" coffees on a kiosk. The place has been completely re-designed, and the patio has further improvements. Bottom line, same old "Cup of the Bay" with a new look, new food, new management and possibly new owners? Hopefully not new prices! read more

I've never written a Yelp review before but I had to after the experience I had at this establishment -- with the staff. Given it was a holiday weekend, Labor Day, I would have to say it must have caused a level of stress that the staff had never experienced before. After dealing with a chaotic, disorganized, and undersized parking lot, I finally made my way into a small, narrow hallway were we stood in line around the corner from the ordering cash register. There was no way to see what was on the menu until we uncovered the laminated menu on the counter in front of the cashier. The ordering system cash register broke down when placing our order and the cashier (who seemed to be the owner) was repeatedly barking orders at the staff to account for the broken system. This approach wasn't working ... it was obvious. Her own staff (most likely relatives in some capacity) were yelling back at her with frustration during the process. Well, needless to say, after a 45 minute delay and repeated attempts to get an update on our order we asked for our money back. The cashier didn't know how to reverse our credit card purchase so we suggested using cash ... she did. During that waiting period, the high school staff were especially rude stating the orders were processed in the order received ... well our order was never sent from the cash register to the staff ... and we watched numerous people who came in after us walk away with their orders. My only goal with this review is to remind the owner and staff that they can't get away with treating customers as if they are disposable. The quaint place has a lot of potential especially if you live in the area and they know your order before you ask. What I also realized after a really bad breakfast experience ... because I had never had such an experience before ... it can ruin your entire day. Even a bad dinner stays on your mind for just a few hours before you sleep it off. A bad breakfast experience, especially rude staff, stays with you all day. Onward, upward. read more

Cup 2 Cafe is fantastic. From just plain ol' coffee to personalized specialty lattes, Cup 2 is a real innovative, multi-faceted, coffee shop. The food is fantastic, fresh, and there is a good health-conscious selection. Really, really a slice of heaven on the fast-food, grease-obsessed restaurant strip that is Cranberry Highway, Cup 2 is a notch way above the rest. A great breakfast and coffee treat. Friendly staff that u will quickly be on a first name basis with. Pastries, muffins bagels all made fresh daily. Their breakfast burrito is especially good along with their breakfast sandwiches. Nice patio area for eating outside. Prices are a little high but it's a nice treat. read more

We went in here right as it was about to close for the day and they didn't act put off or try to rush us - always a good start! I didn't get to eat anything off the menu because I was also in a bit of a hurry but it was surprisingly big with a bunch of breakfast sandwiches (and they even include nutritional information which I love!) They have an outdoor dining area which is so cozy and nice and I could have sat out there all day. Even if they had awful food and awful customer service, I would have given it AT LEAST two stars for the cute outdoor area. read more

Great coffee, mediocre food. This business is one of these new style cafe, but come up short. The food is low in quality. I ordered a linguica, egg and cheese on a toasted English muffin. Now, for $5+ I'm expecting a fried egg, not microwaved egg product patty. My English muffin had received a gratuitous slathering of some sort of butter substitute before it briefly went through the toaster, resulting in a less than appetizing soggy platform. Being as close to New Bedford you would think that a business, trying to bill itself as "better than these chain coffee places", would be buying from vendors who use high quality local ingredients.... I mean, c'mon the linguica was just gross. My best compliment for the food would be that you can see right into the area where they prepare the food and it appeared to be very clean. The thing that bugged me most about my last visit was that my order came to I think $8.01 and I'm certainly not one to look for handouts, but as everyone knows carrying change is a pain in the ass, but giving me .99 cents back in what I perceived as an attempt to fill the tip charge just really rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like if this buisness wants those other two stars take a bit of advise: ~Don't always try to 'upsell' the customer, it's annoying. ~Step up your food game, cuz 'egg product' and the like, sucks ~Use a sensible amount of ice in your iced coffee, I ordered a medium only to receive a thimbles amount of coffee, that's shitty and for gods sake, put a friggin penny dish out! read more

I have given this cafe more than enough chances. Unfortunately, there are really no other options in the area for a privately owned Coffee Shop, perhaps thats what keeps this company in business. I would much rather go to a small town coffee shop - I am always on the hunt for a good one. (I travel alot for work) I can't get over the volume of business they do based on the terrible customer service and the absurd prices. I have compared the coffee I get at Starbucks (the only "comparable" local competition) where there is excellent personalized service, zero attitude, and a consistent product to Cup of the Bay where every single Barista including management has an attitude, and the coffee is outrageously priced. In comparing pricing the same coffee I get a Starbucks is 87% less expensive than the exact same order at Cup of the Bay and at Starbucks I get my coffee with a smile. Starbucks-3 shot of Espresso =$2.62 Cup Of the Bay - 3 shot of Espresso = $4.89 Per Week $18.34 - Starbucks $34.23 - Cup of the bay Thats $15.89 more per week if I was drinking coffee everyday at Cup of the Bay. Overall, this place is solid: - Good coffee - Attentive and polite staff - A large parking lot (important for a place on a major road) - A secluded seating area at the back that makes you forget about the road - Breakfast sandwiches were healthy and "right-size." We recently moved to the area and I discovered this place. You'd almost miss it driving past (the sign just says "COFFEE"), but it's a great independent cafe. Their various espresso drinks are all great, as are their breakfast sandwiches. They have some really creative combinations. Growing up in RI, I appreciate that they have things like linguica and bolos in addition to the usual breakfast ingredients. They also had very good COVID protocols -- separate entrances and exits and everyone was masked. I haven't tried any of their lunch sandwiches yet, but I look forward to doing that in the future. read more

Very disappointing. I heard great things about this place and after our first time there, I won't be going back. I ordered a BLT wrap. There was no bacon on it. It was all lettuce and huge chunks of tomato with mayo. My daughters grilled cheese had burnt stuff all over it to the point she wouldn't eat it. This is the cutest little coffee shop in cape cod. Line is usually not to long and has the nicest atmosphere. At first we had seated in the front but saw the wonderful patio out back with a beautiful fountain, plants, and flowers. I would recommend the caprese sandwich. Delicious! read more

Have to admit, was excited to stop in for some lunch. Cute place, but compared to the other cafes in the area they have A LOT of work to do. Ordered a sandwich and asked for it in a wrap. When I opened it in the car I was in disbelief. The wrap was half the size of a normal wrap and it was not even wrapped! It just opened up and fell apart. Not to mention $9 for 3 slices of plain turkey and some lettuce and tomato is a bit much even for being close to the cape. Then the salad, I got the green goddess with chicken added (extra $3) which was supposed to have goat cheese. Forgot the Goat Cheese, 3 slices of tomato and 3 slices of cucumber for $13. The $3 chicken was 3 small strips, essentially $1 / strip! I have to say, even with the Restaurant.com certificate I felt cheated. I don't think we will make the same mistake 2x here. read more

Stumbled upon this place about 2 years ago. Great hidden gem in Wareham. Stop in for a coffee, breakfast, or lunch! They have a ton of coffee flavors for iced, as well as hot that are delicious ... I always get snickerdoodle. As well as tea and green tea(hot&iced). And some smoothies! For breakfast, there's a ton of sandwich options..not just egg&cheese bagel options(which they do have and are delicious!!) but a ton of speciality sandwiches, and yogurt muffins! For lunch There's a bunch of hot and cold sand which options as well as salads. I always get the cranberry chicken salad sandwich. It is literally my favorite thing to eat I'm obsessed!! read more

I went to the cafe today for the first time. I was really impressed with the menu! I had a hard time deciding what to get! They easily changed my wrap to have feta instead of goat cheese. I also got a delicious peanut brittle iced latte. It was all very good! The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that the latte was a little pricey! The cashier told me the bill was 4.68, I handed her a five and was beginning to give her the three cents and she refused to take them. Then it took five minutes to pour two coffees. The food here is great too. I tried the Breakfast Burrito and the wonderful young lady that made it for me asked me what I thought. I'll quote myself directly 'It was the BEST breakfast burrito I've ever had.' Trust me, I've eaten alot of breakfast burritos in my time. They press it like a panini sandwich and it is fabulous! Years and years ago, when I used to work down in this area, this was called Cup of the Bay, and I would come here quite frequently because it was a great place to get coffee and pastries. Last week, I was down here again with a friend, and we decided to stop in and see how the old place was doing. It's now under new ownership, and it's better than ever! The new owners remodeled the whole shop, and it has a nice eclectic, rustic feel to the place. The staff is very friendly, and they have a good selection of gourmet sandwiches and salads in addition to coffee, tea, lattes, and the like. I had the Goodie-2-Shoes, a sandwich made of an organic English muffin with egg whites, goat cheese, spinach, and tomato. I also got an Earl Grey tea to go along with it. Both were excellent. My friend was also very pleased with her order. Cup of the Bay was great back in the day. And now, the new owners made this little coffee shop even better. This place is amazing. They have a little something for everyone. They are open daily at 6AM, and start serving breakfast burritos and egg and cheese sandwiches, Then for lunch, they have a selection of paninis and sandwiches. If you're looking for an afternoon snack, they have bagels, muffins, and pastries. The main reason I go there, though, is the coffee. Choose hot or iced, regular coffee, lattes, espressos, and more. You can select one of 16 different flavor shots, or 7 sugar free flavors to add to your beverage. They use Monin flavor syrups, which is a very good brand. They also have special flavors that rotate. They also have teas and smoothies, if you're looking for something healthy. I have tried most every regular flavor of coffee they have, and they've all been delicious. They carry more flavors on a regular basis than Dunkin' Donuts or similar stores that have 1 or 2 special flavors at a time. My top 3 are: Irish Cream, Peppermint, and Cinnamon. Now, about the prices...They are definitely more expensive than chain coffee stores. That latte that runs about $2.50 elsewhere will cost $5 or more here. My advice, stick to the basic coffee list, and maybe add 1 flavor shot to keep costs down. They have their own private parking lot, and patio furniture out back that customers use during the warmer weather. In summary, if you drink flavored coffee, this is the place to come for a big selection. The higher prices make this a once in a while treat. read more

Very cute little place and exactly what the town needed. Just a few suggestions 1.) There should be at LEAST 4-5 people working at the counter taking orders on weekends. The line is always so long and soooooo slow. 2.) Regarding the flavored coffees - the flavor should be in the actual coffee bean vs a shot of sugar. No one in the year 2019 wants sugar, which spikes your blood sugar and causes obesity. 3.) Let people put their own creme, milk and sugar in their coffee and leave it on a table like Starbucks. Every individual person has a different preference as far as how light or dark they prefer their coffee. read more
