Cup and Cone in White Bear Lake was such a fun stop! The ice cream was delicious, with plenty of flavors to choose from, and the portions were generous. There's something nostalgic and charming about the whole experience, from ordering at the window to enjoying your ice cream outside. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the atmosphere made it the perfect place to enjoy a summer treat.

Stopped by Cup and Cone and tried their Root Beer Freeze--a blend of vanilla ice cream and root beer soda. While the root beer flavor wasn't as bold as I expected (I was left wanting a little more of that punch), it was still a good and refreshing treat. Right after paying, I noticed it was Salted Caramel weekend. Couldn't resist adding a kiddy cone just for a taste, and I'm so glad I did. That flavor was amazingly refreshing--the perfect balance of sweet and salty. So far, I haven't tried anything here that I didn't enjoy. It's always a solid stop when I'm in the area. I also really appreciate their portion sizes (just right) and the fact that they offer a cash discount--a nice little perk you don't see often these days. Definitely looking forward to my next visit.

Cup & Cone is a must-visit at least a few times every summer! While the food is great, the ice cream is the real reason we go. It is creamy, delicious, and inexpensive. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the location is a fun meet-up spot for members of the community!

Saturday ladies night out. We wanted an ice cream treat after a nice dinner. Jaq said that Cup And Cone is a popular spot in WBL and there's always a line down the block. When we rounded the corner to park, we were surprised the line was only half a block long. Line went fast though. We ordered cones but they offer more options (sundae, shakes, malts) and food (hot dogs, nachos, hoagies). There are plenty of picnic tables to sit at, in the shade, to enjoy your treat. Ice cream was creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. We couldn't eat ours fast enough to combat the melting. Plenty of napkins were used to catch the drips. To conclude, I get the hype. I'd totally stop again if I find myself in the area.

Living in the area for all of my life I have never tried Cup and Cone. We'll today we did. Nice fall day to get some ice cream. We tried the flavor of the day , classic black raspberry. We got it in a sundae. We ordered the small hot fudge sundae and it was very good. A small was plenty for us to split. Really tasty. Parking lot for parking, always nice for white bear lake.

Super friendly staff. They have the best soft serve ice cream around. Hoagies and subs are fantastic. Shakes and masks are superb.

A icon of WBL is Cup and Cone. It's been around since 1973. Wow! It's a little stand outside near the red caboose that you see off of 61. They have a classic flavor of the day along with a dairy free option - check out their calendar on their site. There's also a 5% discount for paying with cash. Our first time going this weekend after friends swore by it. My son got the chocolate and vanilla twist with some rainbow sprinkles. The only bummer was the way the ice cream went off to the side and that it was dripping immediately when I received it from the window. It was a bit messy for our 6 yr old and was dripping everywhere. Otherwise it's a very cute ice cream shop and they also have other good menu items. Beware there are usually long lines but they move incredibly fast.

I first heard about Cup & Cone years ago and just last week finally had the opportunity to try it. It's a little Ma&Pop stop in White Bear Lake. Huge variety of ice cream flavors (dairy free as well) and many toppings to pick from. I saw they offered food options as well. The submarine sandwiches looked huge! The line was long, but moved quickly and staff handled the busyness well. This place gave me all the summer vibes! I enjoyed a small vanilla and chocolate twist cone. I appreciated the ice cream didn't melt like other ice cream shops do. Next time, I'd get a waffle cone. Great first experience and I'll definitely be back soon!

This is such a great spot! I loved the ice cream cone I got, and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy it on the benches provided. The service was quick so a long line was no problem. I will definitely stop by again on my next visit to the area!

Legendary! Dog friendly due to being located outside, Cup and Cone is extraordinary. The staff is super friendly and polished considering they process hundreds of orders every two seconds. I get anxiety with every visit because I want 200 items and can never decide on one. Not only are the ice cream options plentiful, the sub sandwiches are unreal as well (served with two slices of meat, cheese and your toppings of choice available in either 6 or 12 inches). Many folks come here for the ice cream and your classic choice will be the crunch cone, a refreshing choice would be a slushie, the flavor of the day is always fun (note: you can add sprite to it), and my newest discovery is the freeze which is half slushy and half ice cream blended together making an extra frothy experience. Yes there will always be a line but it's entirely worth it. Thank you for making our MN summers magical Cup and Cone. Can't wait to return again soon!

Amazing soft serve, great prices, great memories, staple of White Bear. Must go during the summer. Line moves quick and ample parking in the parking lot near the shop.

The large amount of offerings is overwhelming but awesome! Service is great. They only have outdoor seating but it is a nice open space.

The indoor seating is larger than it looks, and the outdoor seating is nice too. The service has always been pretty good. The bad: The sandwiches don't come with any sides. None at all. When they bring out your $9 brisket sandwich, it's only the size of a McDonald's Happy Meal hamburger - I'm not kidding, it's really that small. And there are no sides with it. None at all. Those cost an extra $2.50 each. The food is super good though, and all hand made, rubbed, and smoked on-site. Just know what you're getting in to and be prepared to spend a little more than you normally would. It's worth it! The ice cream is also great on a hot day.

Let me preface this review by saying, I love barbeque…read more So not too long ago, I was mulling around White Bear Lake on lunch break and out of the 80's suburban regularity CG Hooks appeared. I knew as soon as I saw it from the Taco Johns parking lot that this CG Hooks and I had a date with destiny. For there has always been a great dilemma in this Northern clime of where to find good barbeque and I thought I had found it. Alas, my experience with CG Hooks the next week was mixed at best. What attracts the senses to good barbeque is always the scent of smoking brisket and indeed, that is what caught my attention. In front of the unassuming restaurant is a large smoker from which emits that dark meaty fragrance that lures in the passersby. This is how CG Hooks makes its initial impression to me, all of which seemed good. After taking a look at the menu, I was encouraged by the selection. So, I ordered a beef brisket sandwich with my favorite fixins: baked beans and corn bread. Then comes the bad; I was surprised after getting the total which came closer to $20 than I really feel comfortable with for just lunch. I tried to comfort myself by saying the portions waiting for me in the little bag I clutched must be huge. But then, just another disappointment; the beans were in a container I normally associate with condiments and the cornbread was closer to a cookie than a muffin in size. The brisket was good, but there just wasn't much there. To be fair, they made me a sandwich which, isn't really on the menu because I was getting takeout. Overall the taste was decent, portions small and price high. I intend to visit again and eat in to see if my experience is any better, but for now I cannot rate ye high, CG Hooks.

With that in mind, it is a pleasant surprise that this is such a homey, welcoming-feeling ice cream joint. The ice cream I got was truly amazing; I got a double-dip with Peanut Butter Swirl and brownie-something. Super good combination, and I wound up getting a pint of the Peanut Butter swirl to take home. It had such strong peanut flavor and aroma, I'm really impressed! They also serve 1919 root beer on tap which is awesome. Apparently it's all homemade ice cream, and it certainly has that flavor to it in the most positive way. I am going to be sad when my pint of Peanut Butter Swirl is depleted. I will return for more, no question.

In-house creamery, on-site made ice cream - 5 stars!…read more If any of you have read my reviews of ice cream shops, you know that I love dairy and I love, love, love in-house craft ice cream! You really can't beat the quality. And you can definitely taste the difference. This isn't mass produced Kemps or Cedar Crest factory ice cream - it's the real deal. I checked out Big Dipper after grabbing some sushi nearby. I stumbled across them while driving out of the big mall area. I'm glad I was paying attention. What a find! I ordered a cup of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. Yum! I'm jealous that I don't have a creamery near my home in the Anoka area. Thumbs up! -Maxx
