I've been to CupBob a couple of times and have been fully satisfied every single time. The prices are a little high, however the amount of food they give you almost guarantees leftovers.They have plenty of options to find the perfect Korean dish for each person. The customizable level of spiciness allowed me to have the perfect meal without it being bland or overly hot. I loved when the CupBop truck would come by work. I looked forward to it every week. The healthy Noodles(Sweet Potato) are delicious. The sauce options are great... spicy one day... sweet and mild the next. NO MSG is a huge plus for me. And, the friendly service is amazing. I work elsewhere now and miss them dearly. Okay when they first came to Boise they were at 5th and Jefferson beside the Health and Welfare building. The first time I ate there I met the owners they were super super nice and made sure that the bowl was made correctly with plenty of meat and done right. Unfortunately they have gone downhill quickly. When the opener brick-and-mortar building is when things really started to go bad. They have a manager there name Sophia or Sophie or some weird name and she's probably 18 20 years old very opinionated and has no idea how to handle customers. She does not have life experience managed correctly. I went into their brick-and-mortar place the other day Not only was it filthy inside but there was no one there except a couple of people in back, and took them forever to come out. The guy might have been knew I don't know but he was confused and didn't know how to react when I asked him to only put rice and then all three meats on top. I've been going to cupbop since they opened in Boise have never been charged over $9 and some change for my bowl. This time they wanted me to pay 12 bucks and said that it's always been that way they charged me for extra meat which was only one extra scooping of one meat I had three. Will I asked to speak to the manager she came out with an attitude immediately already increasing the tension of a situation. So instead of arguing with her I asked her for the owner's phone number. She gave me a number and I repeat that number to her twice and she said that's the right number. Well it was not the right number, when I called her back she immediately had a attitude and said she gave me the right number for a fact!! that she could not have made a mistake. When I ask her for the number this time she gave me a different number so I called it. I've left three messages and have not received a call back or even an acknowledgement. So long story I know made short.. I will not be going back to Cupbop they are the true epitome of bait and switch. They start out all fluffy and nice and give you everything you ask for at a certain price and then change the price up on you and the value and quality of the food goes down price goes up. There's an old saying in business, do a job they well till three of their friends, but if you screw them they're going to tell everyone . CupBop is a Chipotle/Qdoba style "Korean" food. You have a few different meats to choose from (spicy pork is the most flavorful in my opinion), served in a bowl with rice, noodles, and your choice of cabbage or spinach. You can choose a spice level by number which correlates what sauces are drizzled on top. If you are looking for authentic korean BBQ then this is NOT it. I enjoy truly authentic ethnic foods including Korean BBQ and Korean tacos so obviously this Americanized version of "Korean BBQ" was very disappointing. I've loved Cupbop for awhile since I used to live in Salt Lake and was so happy to discover that they had opened a location up here. They're bowls are filling. I especially love the sweet potato noodles and the sauces are great. I typically order the Ugly Bop Pop (Korean Fried Chicken) but you can't go wrong with anything from the menu. The Mandoo is great too. I always order some extra. The people there are always warm and inviting. It's a great atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

In all fairness, the flavor was good. Never the less the lack of actual meat portion compared to the massive serving of rice, and rice noodles in this bowl was ridiculous. When you want Korean BBQ the meat is the main focus point then the side items after that come with it! Nothing like a big bowl of cards with no meats that's also over priced. read more

Stopped by for lunch today, ordered the combo with hotbop and uglybop. The place was clean, and attitude of the workers was pleasant, and rather quirky. The food itself is what brought me to the three star rating. It was better than I expected, but not something I'd go out of my way to eat. The uglybop fried chicken was the highlight, and saved the bowl from complete failure. I tried four of the sauces. Not sure what they were all called. The yellow orange sauce, had a yellow mustard taste, that clashed with the style of food I was eating. The "#10 heat" hot sauce looked like schriracha, but lacked the depth in flavor. It was surprisingly hot, and had an underlying Gochujang flavor. Was only able to sample one mandoo dumpling. Great taste with ginger, and a hint of slight smoke flavor. Will definitely order more next time I'm there. I will also go with noodles only. The combo of noodles and rice just didn't hit the spot. read more

The employees were nice but the food...dont even get me started I mean when I got my food which by the way took a whole 5 minutes I didnt even know what I was looking at. Ordered combo bowl from their food truck at BSU, which is a double protein rice bowl. Total cost was almost $10. Most of the bowl consisted of cheap starch fillers, white rice and sweet potato glass noodles. The latter are just sweet potato starch and water noodles, don't be swayed into thinking it's some fancy ingredient. This day they were out of cabbage, so it was a thin layer of cheap iceberg lettuce. The protein was decent, but expected marinated, charred/grilled traditional Korean chicken bbq and this is not that. Overall, for almost $10, it is not worth it at all. It only would be if they added more premium veggies like bok choy, shredded carrots, etc. or had a hardier portion of protein. Pass on this one! read more

Disgusting is as about as accurate as I can get. Couldn't eat it. I just threw it away and went to costa Vida.

I wasn't a fan of this place. I felt like the meat had been overly cooked (for like days) and it was dry and shredded. In my opinion the meat in Korean bbq is the highlight and I've had good Korean bbq and bad. This was bad. Their noodles, veggies and sauces were good (sauces were not homemade and tasted very processed) band had a good flavor. Ultimately not very good and will not return. read more

CupBop became one of my favorite places for a quick meal about six months ago. As a vegetarian, I really enjoy that I can get a filling meal without having to ask them to remove ingredients. When Cupbop is done right, it's GREAT and I love it. I think about it a lot and try to convince my husband that it's time for another order. But, there are major issues with the consistency of what you get. I typically order the Doochi Bop and usually have it delivered. This bowl consists of rice, cabbage, noodles, fried tofu, kimchi, and the spicy mayo sauce. But every time I order for delivery, it's a Russian roulette of what I will get. Sometimes they make it vegan, even though I don't ask for them to make it vegan. About 50% of the time they leave out the kimchi. A couple of times I've gotten it without tofu. My husband usually gets the combo bowl and it's almost always done right. But, the last time I ordered, both mine and my husbands bowls were about 50% of the size they normally are. Literally half a bowl instead of a full bowl. I don't know if this was because the person making it made that decision, or if they are cutting portion sizes to save money. But, all of these issues have definitely made me reconsider my orders here and I will probably be taking a break for a while. read more

If you want good korean food then I suggest going to a Korean restaurant ran by actual Korean people! they know what they're doing and know how it should taste. Terrific new place for quick food at a very reasonable price. Unique flavors and just a cool vibe. My vegetarian wife loved it and so did my little 5 yr old. Portions were just right.
