Moments after walking in, I was seated and given the crash course: Step one -- load a bowl with your pick of proteins, toppings, and noodles. Step two -- build your sauce from a dizzying line‑up of choices. Step three -- hand it all over to the grill master, who turns it into sizzling art on the flat‑top in less time than it takes to check your phone. There are various bowl sizes and an All You Can Eat option-- for those prepared to test the laws of physics. My medium was just right. A bowl of white rice was also waiting for me at my booth: perfect for chasing the last of the sauce. My stir‑fry hit all the marks I wanted: the punch of garlic, the kick from jalapeños, and that satisfying, wok‑kissed finish. Value? The food here is absolutely exceptional! There are definitely things that could be improved like it was a bit confusing how the system worked and they don't have rice as an option to mix with your stir fry (it is available on the side with your order in a separate container) but the ingredients themselves were varied and delicious and the food preparation was entertaining and well done. I really love this place! I have a standing monthly lunch with friends and we always sit in the same booth. It makes us giggle and now everyone there has gotten familiar with us and knows which booth is ours. We hope to be 80 and still sitting in our booth. Service is extremely consistent and prompt. I can almost guarantee you you will be welcomed, "welcome in!" Which is a lost character of many restaurants now. I find it sweet. I always come before the lunch rush and the food area is neat, full, and organized. I am strategic to show before the crowd so I do not know what the food area looks like after the rush. I imagine it is taken care of because they are consistently checking the food area. I appreciate that. Don't burn your tongue! After you get your food cooked it is extremely hot! I know it sounds silly to say but I am always so eager to dig in and now I know to stir my food a little to let the heat escape. Peanuts are served at a food station and cooked on the grill top. Could be an issue for people with allergies. Lots of veggie options, although meat is cooked on the same grill as well. My wife and I tried this a few weeks back. It has been many years since we had eaten there, and it used to be quite good. However, this time it wasn't so good. I'm not sure if the grill needed to be hotter, or they needed to take the food around the grill one more time. Our food had way too much "soup" in the bottom of the bowl and there was almost no flavor. We put on many ladles of sauce too, so not sure what was going on. Great place to come for all you can eat build your own food! The establishment is very clean, the food is fresh, and there are many choices to choose from! There are many fresh veggies and selections of meat to choose from as well as sauces! This makes for a great low-carb diet, but you can also add noodles or have rice on the side! The dishes are cooked in front of you so it's nice and hot! The service is very friendly and happy to assist! Absolutely love this place! Came for a takeout order and the employees helped teach me how to get my bowl ready. A super fun way of putting together your own order. After living in hawaii for 4 years, this place is such a nice present. The bowls are 100% customizable and easy to assemble. You go through and add everything you would like in your bowl including the sauces and the chefs cook it on a hot plate in front of you! Very fun and exciting The employees saw me struggling to decide on things and had me add MORE food to my bowl and recommended sauces for me to add which was so nice. One of the friendliest waitresses in Boise works her. She's always ready with a smile and remembers my drink order though I don't think I could be called a regular there. Decor takes me back to the nineties, which is a good thing. It's a comfortable and casual place to eat. It's hard to beat one of their hot bowls of noodles made by you to your liking! This is one of my favorite Mongolian BBQ spots. It is pretty clean, the staff is quick and courteous and the food is kept appropriately chilled while waiting to be piled into your bowl. I frequented Mongolian BBQ while pregnant, because it was the only way I could stomach vegetables. :) I love all the options here. Tons of veg (such as cabbage, pepper, onion, snap peas, carrots, broccoli, zucc) protein (pork, chicken, beef, imitation crab, bay shrimp, tofu, nuts) and other toppings (pineapple, water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, herbs). They have the standard sauces. I like to mix Mongolian BBQ, Sweet & Sour, Fire Oil, Garlic Sauce, and Lemon Juice to create a spicy, sweet, smokey yum. The last time I came, I was with a couple of girlfriends. I ordered a glass of $4 Chardonnay, thinking "Eh, whatever. The night is young". They brought me out the BIGGEST glass of chardonnay ever! Normally a 5 star every time. This time I had a lot of issues. A lot of the choices for the bbq were empty or near empty. And sitting at my table the Sriracha bottle looked like it had not been cleaned ever. The lid was clogged and crusted over. Oh man! Everytime I eat Mongolian BBQ I get overstuffed and have to save the rest for a late dinner. I am so in love with these places it's almost pitiful! I went here today with a friend and had the best time ever. We say down and we watched part of the New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos game. It was a great setup for someone who is now handicappable. They made room for me and made me feel welcome. Checked out this location for dinner on a Friday evening. I've been to their Nampa location, usually for lunch so I knew I liked their food. This Boise location is a little nicer on the inside, but the same great service and food. I was surprised it wasn't that busy for a Friday, but my husband and I were there around 5:30pm. The restaurant was very clean, nice decor and open feeling. And college football was on a big screen tv, but in the background. Perfect! I love that they allow you to take it to go or take home leftovers. I've been to other places that were not all-you-can-eat and didn't allow you to take leftovers. I've never revisited those places. Mongolian BBQ's leftovers are so good the next day. They do have an AYCE option, but no leftovers from that. Either way it's a great value for the food you get. There was a wide variety of vegetables that looked and tasted very fresh and with the meat (thin sliced pork, beef and chicken) and seafood (shrimp and krab mix) offerings everything was very appetizing. As usual I hardly had enough room for the goodness that is the noodles. Also, they do give you a small bowl of white rice. It was good with all the extra juices from the sauce. *My husband usually goes for lunch and said they don't offer the seafood mix during their lunch hours* The hostess and waitress we had were very welcoming and friendly. This is a bit out of the way for us, but when I'm on that side of town I'll be sure to remember my great experience. I've been a BIG fan of the Mongolian BBQ in St. George, Utah for many years. I've eaten there countless times over the past several years. I knew the same family or friends of the family operated some restaurants in Idaho too, but never had the opportunity to eat there until this last weekend. The formula for great Mongolian BBQ is easy -- LOTS of fresh vegetables and other fresh ingredients, several meat choices, and plenty of sauce! Pick what you want in your bowl and have the cook stir-fry it up. Make sure and tip your cook while you're waiting! This Mongolian BBQ location in Boise doesn't disappoint! It was most definitely fresh and most definitely delicious! Inside the restaurant was older looking but seemed more or less clean and well maintained. Staff was attentive and friendly. We ate here twice over the Memorial Day weekend and the food and service were excellent both times. My only compliant is that there isn't a Mongolian BBQ location in my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. Please, please, pretty please open a location in Salt Lake City. This has to be one of my favorite lunch stops in Boise. In fact it is not uncommon for me to come here up to 2 times in a one week stay while here. The staff are friendly, the food is good (hell if it isn't it's mostly your fault since you are putting it all together yourself), and its quick. For $8-12 (incl tax and tip) you have plenty of food and they even serve you a bowl of rice in addition to what you have prepared in your own bowl. I personally got 2 meals out of my small bowl. On top of that, they offer just about every sauce you can imagine (from sweet to spicy) and have a handy chart with suggested sauce mixtures. There is an option for all you can eat. Great for Picky Eaters because you create your own bowl. Fresh Food and Enormous Portions. Very tasty, I recommend putting more ladles of sauces then less to keep the dish moist. Be careful of putting too many jalepenos in your bowl as well. I have never been able to go back for seconds, so I usually get the mighty khan and have enough for another meal plus when I get home.
