We were thrift store shopping before heading back home, a 7 hour drive. We spotted this place outside the Goodwill and we decided it was convenient and sounded good. We are all so happy we went. Service was spot. He explained how it worked. He did lie about something. He said whatever bowl we decide to do to remember once the food is cooked, it will shrink. FALSE! I got the biggest bowl and packed it and yet after it was cook, it had only shrunk 10%. I had way too much food I could have gone with the smallest bowl and it would have been enough but I was hungry and it looked amazing. The prices were also what shocked us. There lunch time prices starts at $7.99 with the large bowl I think $12.99....I could be wrong, it might be less. That large bowl could have fed 2 people. Each of us also got a side of sticky white rice, included in the price. We used their restroom and it was clean. I very nice woman was washing her hands and asked me about the tennis shoes I was wearing. She was interested as she was searching for black comfortable shoes. Come to find out she was an employee. I didn't see a name tag. It wasn't until she asked if we were enjoying our food that I realized she worked there. All around very nice employees, great food with a great price. We went on a Thursday evening and it was busy. And short staffed. But it didn't create a bad experience at all. Most of the veggies were fresh, but there were a few questionable items I skipped (wilted cilantro, browning celery) and the meat was going fast. The staff did their best to keep items refilled. We always go with the biggest bowl to make sure we have plenty for leftovers. While we were eating we noticed several people with a separate bowl just for the sauces. Expert-level Mongolian BBQ-ers! I always triple up on the sauces only to see most of it be discarded on the grill. Then the cooks use water for more moisture. Not if you have an extra bowl of sauces - they use that instead so it's not watered down. Once your food is on the grill it cooks pretty fast. My favorite thing is that every time I go I can make it a little different. I need variety in my food-life and this place hits the spot! read more

Honestly, over the years we can all agree a lot of food places quality has diminished after covid, with new policies and regulations, i've been going to mongolian for years, and up until about 3 years ago this location was the best, and the food was delicious, just make sure you don't inconvenience the people working the grill, if you do they will make sure that half of it falls into the ground, or in the food trap, and they will spill half of the sauce with it, and proceed to pour half of a pitcher of water on it, and i while i sat and watched my food mix with the other persons who's food is also being made. they will glare at you, and throw your food on the counter and i feel terrible for the wonderful young waitresses because they have to put up with the aftermath, this location is not what it used to be and i personally believe that the customer service sucks. i will stick with the other nampa location edit: the noodles were undercooked as well, very disappointing read more

Been coming to this Mongolian since I was a child. Service, is always phenomenal. Food is amazing. It's even better when you get to eat what you make! The restaurant is not too loud, but not too quiet. No dress code either. I have seen Prom/Hoco people come and eat while in their outfits. This was our first time eating here and we were pleasantly surprised. There's a plethora of options to add to your bowl. I was a bit disappointed there was no shrimp, but other than that, I was amazed at all the choices of veggies, meats, and sauces. The line was long (Saturday evening) but moved steadily. I made my bowl, and someone behind me had used jalapeños. I was unable to even eat it due to the burning on my lips. When I told the girls in the back, they told me to make another bowl. After making another bowl, the cook at the grill was very rude, and when I asked to cook extra, he gave me attitude. The man who was to be our waiter was one who is pictured in some of the pictures who is also very rude. He argued about the dish being too spicy and how they clean the grill. Wow, I'm afraid that this place deserves a 0 stars. We won't be back. We will go to the cleaner, more inviting Mongolian on Garrity. Great service. Quality ingredients. Clean and spacious. There's a large array of ingredient combinations and sauces to choose from. It's really kid friendly and affordable. The staff was also willing to help with sauce choices/ combinations. We still had enough leftovers for dinner. We will definitely be returning to this location. read more

We haven't been here for years or ever and we were all happy with variety and freshness of the available choices for ingredients, and it's not too loud except for the people at our table lol. The place is always dirty when we go in there. It also smells like bad B.O. at times. They don't clean thier grill very well ad/or counters. Pretty sure the cooler for the food bar is not working correctly and half the other food seems old and wilted. Several of their tables and chairs look like they are falling apart. Absolute joke anymore!! Been coming for years and always grab two bowls one for veggies and meat and one for noodles, obviously veggies and meat cook down and everything fits in one big bowl. Boom charged for one bowl. My wife and I have been visiting this restaurant for the last three years. The staff has always been very pleasant and eager to serve you. The serving tubs are usually well stocked unless you happen to hit rush hour on a Friday or Saturday evening. The food inside the tubs always appears to be fresh. If you don't like crowds it's probably best to visit on a Monday. As the week progresses the crowds tend to gather with peek activity on Friday and Saturday. read more

Disappointing. The restaurant is clean, the food line looks good, no complaints there. Unfortunately, once you give your bowl to the grill cook, they pour several cups of water on it and wash away the sauces that you put on. The food is essentially steamed instead of stir-fried. In fact, they move your food around the grill with large sticks instead if spatulas... This is sad and disappointing, as they have the tools to crank out a really decent plate of food - but instead, they take the lazy way out. Their poor technique leaves no charring on the meats or veggies or noodles... which is what makes Mongolian BBQ so great in the first place. Cooking with this much water is easier on the cooks - since they don't continually have to scrape down the grill after every few customers. I get it. Word to the wise: if you go into a Mongolian BBQ and their grill tops look like super clean, bright stainless steel.... turn around and walk out the door. First and foremost, I'm not saying it was bad. Food was good, but ALL of the sauces are super watered down. After they cook it there was a good two inches of soup at the bottom of the bowl. This Nampa location on the Blvd is our favorite Mongolian BBQ around. We have eaten at others and this is by far the best location. We won't even go into other "Mongolian BBQs" because they just never compare to this one in our opinion. Others don't have the foods we like, or the place isn't clean, or they add too much salt in the cooking process, etc. so if we are craving Mongolian BBQ then this, to us, is THE place. Love the assortment of meats, veggies, sauces, etc and it is cooked while you watch. Everyone gets to customize to their liking. We always pick so much that we end up with a meal of leftovers to take home, so that makes the price much easier for our larger family to take. My father and I just moved into the Nampa area and have been trying all the different restaurants in town, this was my first major disappointment.. We came in an hour before closing, most of the staff was cleaning or sitting around talking, and they did not have any of the large size bowls available at the "Start Here" area.. so we had to settle for less, both my father and I walked out still hungry. We had heard from co workers you can have leftovers to last a couple days but that was a lie. our first time at a Mongolian bbq, no one was willing to help explain what to do even though staff looked bored. This is the best Mongolian grill I have been to in Idaho. The prices are decent, and if the food is bad, you have no one to blame except yourself because you add your ingredients and they cook it for you. The atmosphere is open and loud especially if you go during Friday or Saturday dinner, so I would recommend going either before or after these times. My family and I have been here multiple times and really enjoy building our own meals, enjoying each other's company and having leftovers for the next day. I would typically rate it a four considering I have always enjoyed my meal and had a good time while visiting. Never has my enjoyment been due to the service but more due to the company I bring with me to eat. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday evening, one hour before their listed closing time. Cook's looked irritated when we walked in but we weren't the only ones there and they always look that way so I didn't hardly notice much but it did cause me to check the closing time on the door because I didn't want to be an inconvenience. When we started making our bowls, I noticed that one half was closed and empty. No problem because I work at a restaurant myself and figured they were just pre closing. However the side that was open looked like it hadn't been restocked in a while and some of my favorite veggies and meats weren't available. I could have asked but I figured I'd make due with what was out. Not sure how the rest of my family felt about it but I have to add that numerous other customers started arriving after us and if I ran the Mongolian bbq, I certainly would have restocked considering the amount of business coming in but it did not seem that they were doing so. Upon getting to my table a find water and bowl of white rice that literally has 1/4 of rice in it. Typically the 1 cup size bowl is packed but not tonight. Looked like they had to split it up so all five members of my group could have a taste. Again, I wasn't going to make a deal out of it because I didn't necessarily come for the white rice but at every other visit, it's been a packed bowl and an expectation. This is where I began to consider reviewing the restaurant. Then, the iced tea I ordered arrived but it was barely a darker shade than water. I looked at the server and she said that if I didn't like it, she could make me more. I told her not to worry about it but to please not charge me for it because i was opting to have water instead. I believe a 3 star review is average and this was below that. It would've been a 1 but I've been there enough to know that I'm going for the food, not the customer service or friendliness. Food is always good, considering they essentially just fry whatever is in the bowl that you give them but my last visit made me consider that there must be other places in the valley to enjoy Mongolian style eating. read more

The only downside to the experience was that one family member couldn't join us because they are allergic to peanuts and Mongolian BBQ uses peanut oil. Basically the original Mongolian BBQ joint. I've been eating here since I was a kid and now take my kids. A good selection of fresh veggies, meats, and sauces to make a great bowl. The small bowl is plenty for me to eat and my kids usually eat about 1/4 of the kids one. The rice is always overcooked, but that's not why we got there anyway. One time my daughter dropped her bowl right as the cook handed it to her and they made sure she was ok first and had her make another one. They were so kind about the mess. The waitstaff is always hit or miss. They had a girl there the last time that had the loudest stinking laugh I've ever heard. She needed to muffle things to make it enjoyable for everyone. read more
