Love the food here! The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful, we had a slightly larger group of 8 and they were great! Our server explained the process, you can either get a small, medium, or large bowl. Only the large bowl is AYCE. Most of our group went with the large bowl only because we wanted to try different sauces/flavors. If you get a small or medium bowl many people pack it in, but they do have a height limit over the bowl. You pick your veggies/toppings, meats, nuts, they have one type of noodle. Then you add your sauce, I recommend mixing, if you need recommendations the staff was very helpful. Add sauce and once you think you've maybe already added too much, add another 4 scoops. Each time we went up they had to tell us to get more sauce. Apparently the moisture helps with the cooking. They give you a small bowl of white rice in case you did a stir fry without noodles. My buddy and are huge fans of Mongolian bbq stir fry, the name #1 Mongolian bbq is a horrible representation of the quality of the food and the service received. The noodles were poor quality very thin and not flavorful not to mention the bin was empty when we got there and we had gotten the newly cooked ones. The sauces were not great either, they tasted watered down and even with a full bowl of sauce and then some the noodles didn't taste like they had enough. The owner/chef (cowboy cook) charged both of us extra even though we both made sure we stayed below the 2 inch rule. The building was also very hot inside easily 75°+ we were sweating and this was beginning of February. We also did not receive rice when we asked about it or if we would be offered a discount for the missing part of our meals we were told that it was optional, my buddy made sure to tell the cowboy cook that we optioned in for it... safe to say we didn't receive our rice. Bad service, bad quality food, I would recommend the Mongolian bbq on broadway and Boise ave, much better. Food was so poor I didn't even finish the leftovers. read more

I love Mongolian BBQ. Anytime I pass a place and get the chance, I go. I live in California and we have quite a few places within a drive able distance from me. Overall, the service was above standard. It was a taller man in his 20's, and he genuinely made me feel welcome and got me seated right away. The overall look of the place was tidy, and the cooks appeared to be cleaning consistently. The only downside about the ambiance was that there wasn't much energy - a lack of music, or much to look at, maybe? On the other hand, the food wasn't all that good. I got the all you can eat and although the first bowl was good-ish, the second was very dry even though I doubled the amount of sauce I put on as the first bowl. It's almost as if the sauces are watered down, as the flavor was nonexistent. They have you put on a TON of sauce and even if you double the amount they need to cook it, the flavor doesn't get any stronger. It's also more expensive than any place I've been to in California, which for the taste, was a little disappointing. They do however have a good amount of selections of veggies, and meat. I definitely missed having some teriyaki sauce though. When I got home, let's just say my stomach wasn't very happy, which was new to me in terms of Mongolian BBQ. Overall, I can't really recommend this place. I think there's definitely some steps they could take to improve their food, especially after being open for so long. Not all Mongolian BBQ restaurants are the same. 1 Mongolian steps it up a bit. Yes, the ingredients are pretty much the same as other M-BBQ places in town, but perhaps they are a bit fresher here. Yes, the wok gets just as hot as other M-BBQ places, and here the whole cooking area is kept super clean and organized. Yes, they have lots of sauces, but here they keep the sauce area really clean. It's really nice. One thing that they do here (or allow you to do here) is to include more sauce with your food-stuff. Allow me to explain the proper procedure for a delicious M-BBQ meal... First, place our meat in the biggest bowl that they have. Don't skimp. Second, add your favorite veggies, and don't forget the peanuts. Third, add the noodles on top. You always end up with more noodles that what you expect, so don't worry about trying to pile up as high as you can. You'll have plenty. Fourth, fill up the bowl with sauce. I like the mongolian sauce, and the bbq sauce at this step. Keep adding sauce until you can see it rising up in your bowl. Fifth, add two scoops of hot oil. Add more if you want it spicier (duh). Sixth...and here is the special secret part... Get a small bowl, and fill it up with more sauce. For this step, I like to get the curry sauce. The chef will add this sauce to your meal after it cooks for a bit. I noticed that other M-BBQ places will squirt water on the meal about half way through when the original sauce cooks off, but here they let you get more sauce to add to the meal (instead of water), and I think that makes it cook up better and the end result is a better tasting meal. For us, this place is a bit out of the way, but we end up going here fairly often, just because we like it best! ========== My mood ring is missing, and I don't know how I feel about that. read more

Only a few customers filled their beaten up seats, but to be fair I expected all of this hence the to go order. I got the only thing you can get there, noodles, meat, vegetables with your choice of sauce, which was still great. This place could use a serious cleaning. The stick used to help with cooking was stored in a very filthy garbage bin with black stains on the side. The food was great but the filth and the flies made me regret my choice upon arriving home.
