Upon making my appointment Lila was very knowledgeable and respectful concerning my care. Paperwork sent to complete before my appointment. I was little nervous. Today was i was very impressed with the staff. Dr Dipa made me feel very comfortable and explained different options for my further care. A Disappointing Experience While miscommunications can happen, the way a dental practice handles them speaks volumes. I trusted this practice with my oral health and agreed to the recommended treatment plan (but now I am questioning that plan too) However, during my visit, there was an unexpected change: an additional filling was performed without prior explanation. I got to know about it when I saw a change in my copay!!!! This is NOT how things should be done. The doctor should explain what they did so I can ask questions about those. Furthermore, the post-procedure care was inadequate. The two filled teeth were positioned so closely together that proper flossing is impossible. It seems the practice overlooked this crucial detail. Despite expressing my concerns, the response from the practice was generic ("sorry, your trust is very important to us") and lacked a genuine attempt to address the issue. This response pissed me off. A follow-up appointment or phone call to discuss the matter would have been a more appropriate course of action. They lost not one but two patients today. read more

Dr. Mehta and Dr. Mehta along with all of their staff are simply amazing! We have been coming here for years and are just as pleased today as we were back then. The bed-side manners are just so calming. If you don't like going to the dentist, you will change your mind. There is never any upselling and they perform honest assessments and treatment each and every time. If I had to choose who I like more, I would choose Dr. Mehta over Dr. Mehta. They are both wonderful. Lila the office manager is awesome too. She communicates via text to schedule and confirm appointments and even notifies you when to come into the office if you wanted to just sit and relax in your car beforehand. read more

Lila, at the front desk, is really sweet and funny! She is also very helpful when it comes to scheduling and insurance paperwork. I can't remember the assistant's name, but she had blonde hair, and she was really sweet and accommodating as well! My favorite part of my visits, though, is Dr. Mehta. I get incredibly anxious with needles, and I had to get two anesthetic shots so naturally I was shaking. Dr. Mehta talked me through the entire process, made sure I was breathing steadily and not too anxious, and overall looked out for me and ensured I was comfortable while getting my fillings. BEWARE. This place is a FRAUD. I bought a Groupon coupon good for a teethcleaning and x-ray at a special price. After getting my teech cleaned and checked, the dentist wrote a treatment plans, totaling over $2,000. The receptionist then recommended I get a loan through a place they recommended. I then went for a second opinion to an expert dentist located in Blackhawk, CA who had previously worked on my teeth. His opinion? ZERO cavaties. He warned me that there are big dental scams out there and they try to get new clients by using coupons and then 'discovering work needs to be done' in the $1,000-$2,000 range. I learned about Sunnyvale Smile Style through 1-800-DENTIST a few years ago. I had never before enjoyed going to the dentist - and now, while I won't say I look forward to the dental work I do look forward to the visits. Dr. Dipa Mehta had been my primary dentist the first several visits and you have to love the fact that she sings along to songs on the radio all the while putting me at ease. Her husband Dr. Nirav Mehta covered for her while she was on her first maternity leave and is now a permanent part of the team! They are both very personable and lovely people. Geovanna the receptionist/hygienist/all around everything - is AMAZING. She takes the time to figure out the best thing financially, always has a smile and makes going to the dentist fun. I purchased a Groupon for this business a while back for a cleaning and x-ray and finally made my appointment a few weeks ago. It was quick and painless! I wasn't kept waiting very long, which can be the worst thing about going to any doctor's appointment, and the cleaning was swift and efficient. I had braces back in my teens and some of the crowding had come back. She gave me options about doing Invisalign and I was really happy that after telling her I'd have to think about it, she didn't press the matter. The front desk was very friendly. I don't have insurance so they gave me a break down of how much a cleaning would cost at my next visit so I would know what to expect. The thing that really impressed me was the fact that although my Groupon was only good for a cleaning and xray, I had a slight chip in my back molar that had been bothering me and the dentist smoothed it over with no additional cost. I came here with a groupon for teeth cleaning and XRays. I had a great time here (as much as you can have a great time with teeth cleaning). I had Dr. Dipa Mehta and she was awesome. She explained things clearly, told me what work needed to get done and what stuff wasn't in simple and easy to understand languages. I've been on top of my dental health for a long long time and have had everything from teeth pulled, to braces, and even oral surgery, but even I can tell when a dentist is trying to push useless and unnecessarily aggressive procedures just so that they can make money off of you. She tried to convince me to get 8 fillings on my molars simply because they had "deep grooves" and it would help in the "long run". This is exactly what is wrong with the healthcare industry and exactly why Americans end up spending more than any western country in the world on healthcare. Don't get fleeced and find a better dentist somewhere else who actually cares about your oral health. What's next? Get dentures now because your teeth will all decay in the long run??? I booked an appointment with Sunnyvale Smile Style since I also had a groupon for teeth cleaning and x-rays. Definitely came in handy since I currently don't have dental insurance. The office is very clean and you're always warmly welcomed by the front desk receptionist, Jovanna. I've been to the office twice now and it's usually pretty empty and quiet (maybe that's why they were advertising through groupon?) so there's essentially no wait. My first initial visit was with Dr. Dipa Mehta. She was very nice and professional, but she didn't really make that much small talk or get to know me as a new patient. At that time, she was about 8 months pregnant so she was probably really tired or didn't have the energy to make conversation. She was very gentle with the teeth cleaning--which I'm not that used to. I've always experienced slight discomfort during past cleanings so I had to wonder, "are my teeth really clean?" Definitely a good place to come for those who are sensitive about their teeth or dread going to the dentist. They make it a quick and painless process. Dr. Mehta was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in simplified terms. Turns out that I had a cavity that needed to be filled. I was brought back to the front desk to Jovanna to get a breakdown of what it would cost to get my cavity filled. They were offering a 30% discount for groupon patients. I appreciated Jovanna breaking down everything and taking the time to explain everything to me. I decided to return to get that darned cavity filled. At this appointment I saw Dr. Nirav Mehta. I think female Dr. Mehta might have had her baby at this point. Dr. Nirav Mehta was a bit more personable and it was easy to strike up conversation with him. He was very gentle throughout the process and always checked up on me to make sure I was comfortable and doing okay (since I had a cavity in a really difficult spot). I have been to lots of dentists. But this is the first dentist who is sending me an extra bill after having paid the full amount during the visit. During my visit they said insurance is covering it. But later they sent me a bill saying all of it is not covered or certain things were not covered. I didn't authorize services which were not covered. They never told me that during the visit. They had all the time to verify with the insurance before doing the service. Anyway whatever comes out of it I am not going back. read more

I normally have major anxiety when going to the dentist. Dr. Nirav Mehta is awesome! He knows to give me extra novocaine so that I don't feel anything. He constantly checks during the procedure to make sure I'm doing ok. Never have I felt so comfortable in a dentists chair. Last week I got a root canal and it was a piece of cake! I was actually smiling through some of it. The receptionist, Giovanna (sp?) is awesome as well, and so is Jennifer the dental assistant. I have been going to SV Smile Style for over 6 years now and they are truly awesome! I've had both dentists and they are equally competent. They continuously check in with you to see how you're doing while they're doing their work. They have done all sorts of work on my teeth and are equally gentle, conscientious, knowledged and experienced. They help you to feel as comfortable as possible while having your mouth worked on! I also recommended them to a friend who has a phobia of dentistry. He has now been going to them for years and has actually had quite a bit of work done too. I've been going to this dentist for over a year and get my teeth cleaned about every 4 months (d/t a predisposition for gingivitis). I've had some bad experiences with prior dentists so I get very nervous in dental offices. So far they seem very honest, competent and personable. I feel more comfortable with every visit. The only slight negative is they don't have a hygienist. The dentists do all of the cleaning but they do a good job. They are the most thorough dental cleanings I've ever had. read more
