This company is a damn farce and although maybe somewhere along the lines of my impatient self reading fine print, they have managed to fool me with their "credit card." No wonder why they usually cater to low income Hispanic families in general, especially the non English speaking ones. Apparently you have to buy shit every 6 months or not ONLY will your card be "inactive" it'll technically be closed and charged off on your credit. When you ARE ready to start buying things again AFTER the 6 month time (i dont have time nor enough things i want to buy shit every month) they have to resubmit your application and it's considered opening a new account on your credit. I have NUMEROUS inquiries on my credit now that I have an understanding of how this company operates. Definitely going to be jumping on that class action law suit. read more

This place of business is very unprofessional. Bought a refrigerator was SCHEDULED for delivery Thursday November 19th. Turns out refrigerators are on back order and not available til NEXT YEAR! My order was not on file. I had to produce the receipt with the scheduled delivery date. The Curacao store then delivers a floor model that is non-functional (broken) does not get cold at all. After calling the Curacao a rep states they can replace it possibly in December and told to call the manufacturer for the warranty. Curacao is the worst place we have ever shopped at. Never again. Purchased a pair of ear buds. At first they were ok but by the second week they were horrible. Contacted customer service and because I was 4 days over the approved return date of 15 days. Which by the way is in small print that you have to go thru 2 windows to get through. Ear buds arent considered electronics but accessories, who would know. I contacted the company that makes the ear buds, which is what the customer service person told me to do. The company said my ear buds were the Latin style of ear buds and they could not help me. I am sad to say curaçao has robed me of hundreds of dollars . Can't even fight with a company this big . I would loose more in legal fees . I got charged 200 for returning a pc that didn't meet my expectations. Keep in mind I tried to return it the next day after I got it and they said I had to wait for confirmation of the return. And no one told me I'd have to pay 15% restocking fee that would be 200$ that is 1/3 for a 49 hour work week for most Americans. I can't believe the customer service at curaçao doesn't even care. I had to open my account and check my balance to see that I owed 280+ dollars of restocking fee and accumulated interest. This place has definitely gotten better. The set up used to be a little bit weird. They totally changed it now which seems to have a better flow. They do a price match now so they're not overpriced like they used to be. Wouldn't really recommend getting their credit line. I found out the hard way that you apply once for a credit card and once you pay it off they close the account on you. By the time I went back to try to purchase something else I had to reapply for the credit line. Definitely not something that I appreciate it much. Not a big fan of running my credit, making hard inquiries. They definitely got an extra star for making those big changes. read more

Don't be fooled by their bright and cheery credit card advertising. I made the simple mistake of logging in as a new customer first instead of applying for their credit card first. Their site told me that I already had an account (not true) and to call them. I did, and was told to call back after 12 o'clock, so I did. I provided all of the information requested and I received a Congratulations and Confirmation to my email address. But then they sent a message to my old cellphone and demanded that I take a Selfie and photos of both sides of my drivers license! All of this after I received their so-called Congratulations. You see, my reason for applying to them at all was to purchase a modern cell phone to replace my very old one. I politely explained this to them and the very real fact that my cellphone was not capable of doing what they now demanded. I asked them to send this link to my email address so I could comply and they refused. Had they done so, I could have easily complied using my iPad. I was told that despite my credit approval, I'm now required to come in to their store. Since this would mean a 130 mile round-trip instead of a simple on-line purchase, I consider this to be deliberately onerous and unrealistic. But what bothered me the most was her conduct and demeanor throughout the conversation. Cold, humorless, uncooperative and unfriendly. I politely explained that their refusal to cooperate with my simple request has cost them a customer and I wished her a nice day. Gentlemanly. But in reality her attitude was enough to keep me from buying anything from them on-line with my own credit card. You see, I don't really need their credit card. However, if this is how they treat a new customer who has good credit, Suspicious and untrusting, I would not trust Curacao to stand behind anything. Trust must be two way, and here it obviously is not. There are plenty of other, more trustworthy places to sho William E. Maher Nice response, to bad none of it is true. My review is scored base on the customer service in finance dept. The customer service I received from Albert was 5 stars!. Albert's attention, attitude, and mannerism was delightful and helpful. It doesn't hurt that I was prepared and firm with what and how I would make my purchase. FIVE STARS!!! Now, unfortunately, the customer service within the finance department was discouraging. And awfully rude. I work in customer service and sometimes there's just really rude customers that will bum your day. Long overdue review. Never went back. Took a t.v for repair while it still had warranty. They messed up and gave me someone else's t.v after it supposably got repaired. Went in to tell the manager and she would not speak to me. She was in a backroom and wouldn't come out. 1 of 2 Back in December 2006 I bought an XBOX 360. With the intention of selling it like so many other people. I posted it on EBAY and in the recycler. With no luck. I bought the XBOX at a local department store called La Curacao. La Curacao is the Hispanic version of Sears. They have furniture, toys, electronics, jewelry, etc. Anyhow my girl and I found ourselves out one night and decided to stroll through to just peek around. We walked around and eventually found ourselves in the electronics section and after playing some video games, I saw it...the XBOX 360. There were 2 of them. 2 XBOX 360 packages. Each package had a carrying case, 10 games, an extra controller, a memory card, a remote control charger, and an extra DVD remote. They were just sitting out in the open on a table with some other game stuff. I had to stop and look around to make sure of what I was staring at. I was amazed that no one else was looking at what I was looking at. It wasn't long that I was staring at the XBOX and talking to my girl about how cool it would be to buy it and sell it...When I was greeted by a salesman. He was very friendly and we started talking about the XBOX. I asked him if any stores in the area had them and he said, "No, Best Buy and Circuit City have both sold out and probably won't get any until February." I then started to say to him and Daysi (my girl) "Man this would be great to buy and then sell for a profit." Daysi agreed and so did the sales guy. Here is were things went bad. I asked what is the return policy. The salesman stated that I had 30 days to return for a refund. I thought to myself no problem I can sell this thing in 30 days not an issue. I repeated "30 days?!" And he said "30 days." I said "I'll take it." Daysi and I walked up to the register and began the purchase process. The kid behind the counter was amazed that someone actually bought it. As he was ringing it up small talk between me and him included me telling him that I was going to sell it and hopefully make a profit myself. As the sale was nearing the end he said "Ok, you have 15 days to return." I then said "No, I was told 30 days by him." And I pointed at the salesman. The checker said "Hey is it 15 or 30 days?" To which the salesman said "30 days." I then said go ahead. 22 days went by and I had no buyers or nibblers at all. I then thought oh well time to take it back. I walked in on a Friday night and waited for a about a half an hour. Before the staff told me that they could not reach the salesman to get his approval to return the item and that I needed to come back the next day when all of the sales managers would be there. My gut was telling me to be ready. I returned the next day. I decided to put things in my favor right away. When the salesman that sold me the XBOX walked up I played like I didn't even know him. I said "Was it you that sold me this thing?" And he said "Yeah it was me, I remember you." I then said "Oh, yeah you had a Santa hat huh?" He said "Yes." He then told me to follow him that the sales manager will talk to me. As we started walking to the electronics section I asked him "what the problem was?" He then said "We have a 15 day return policy for refund and that they could not refund my money." I was shocked. I said "What? Are you kidding me man, you told me 30 days!" This isn't going to work today, not today!" He walked me to the department manager. Who was talking to a fellow sales associate. As I was waiting he looked over his co-workers shoulder and greeted me in Spanish. Mind you I speak a little but don't assume that I am fluent. I just said Hi in English back to him. When his co-worker walked away he punched up my purchase on the screen and asked how could he help me. I noticed right away that his hands were shaking, he was nervous, his lower lip even quivered a bit when he talked. I knew right then and there he did not want to take back the XBOX. I knew that I had already lost. So I changed my game plan I had to get information from him the more the better. As soon as he asked how could he help me, I answered back "What do you know?" He said " I understand that you want to return the XBOX, but we cannot take it back. We have a 15 day return policy for refund and 30 day exchange policy for mechanical problems." I then said "Look I was not told that when I bought the XBOX, I asked the sales guy twice on the floor about return and all he said was 30 days and even the check out clerk asked him and he said 30 days." I said "That was 3 times he was asked and he said 30 days! If I knew it was going to be 15 days I never would have bought the thing!"
