The only thing inside this nasty place is a decrepit nail salon, a run down oriental carpet dealer and the back entrance of Barnes and Noble and Wines and Things. the rest of this mall is either closed or turned into outwardly facing stores like Kohls (largest Kohls I have ever seen) or a run down nasty Petsmart, Barnes and Noble and Party City. Office Max went out of business and some of the other smaller stores are on their last legs. The Taco Bell and Panera in the parking lot are the only busy things bringing traffic to this dump. One of our first port calls was in Newport, so after touring some of the historic homes in the area, finding shoes was job #1. I was warned by locals that there weren't many shoe stores in town and those that were around were $$$$. That was certainly my initial experience when looking at the touristy Bowen's Wharf area. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with a debilitating nervous system condition that has completely changed how I engage in fitness. But being the stubborn "gym rat" that I am, I have refused to give up lifting and sprinting. My condition has caused major changes in my gait, proprioception, and running mechanics, which have been causing me a lot of silly injuries. I would not have found these without a staff recommendation, and I am still amazed. I got the right shoe at a decent price. I also wanted to support a small local business who is involved with the local running scene. I would be surprised if I buy running shoes from anywhere else after this experience.
