The completed project far exceeded my expectations. Jim had great design ideas. Even though it was a smaller project Baxter Gardens made me feel like I really mattered as a customer. Jim was there when the installers arrived to start the project. He was also there in the middle of the process and at the end to make sure I was satisfied with everything. The customer care was outstanding. Additionally, the team that did the installation were also amazing. Such hard workers and so talented! All that were involved have definitely perfected their craft. So disappointed in the follow-up for my landscape projects. The nursery stock, when delivered, was…read morebeautiful. The paver patio was installed perfectly, but the follow-up stunk! I had materials replaced in my front and rear yards. In the back they installed 3 tall yews. After a few days 2 of the 3 started leaning. I notified my project manager and salesperson and they asked me to send photos. Also a small plant in the back started coming out of the ground which made me inspect and realize the holes really weren't prepared correctly. Just dug to accomodate the new plant and filled around the sides. That's not how I was told to do it properly years ago. A river rock area in the back was also not contained to the area it was designed to cover and the rock had slid into the yard and adjacent mulch. I notified them on April 12 and finally someone came April 30th. By then there were dead limbs on the yews that they staked. They did not replant the other small plant. And as to the rock issues, "There is nothing on the drawing about any kind of edge getting put in. Even a shovel edge. It is laid according to the drawing you signed." REALLY??? I depended on them to adequetly design the project and paid well for it. On May 1 I send a letter to Adam the owner and no response. As much as I hate to say it, I would avoid this company.

The owner went above and beyond to address the concerns of my mom, who can be very particular in her concerns. The crew was polite, efficient, and they kept the work area tidy. Overall, the crew reflected the excellent customer service modeled by their owner. The workman ship was outstanding. There was a big gate needed for the back driveway that was going to be difficult for anyone to engineer. They installed it to the best of their ability, but the owner drove by and saw it and he wasn't satisfied with how it looked, so they re-engineered it so that it looked better while maintaining functionality, ALL FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE! This company was extremely competitive in their pricing. The customer service and quality of workmanship is top-notch. The high quality of character in an owner who would come back to correct a completed project because it didn't meet his criteria is simply unheard of. My wood deck was on it's last leg and Rick Miller (owner) recommended a stamped concrete patio instead of replacing with another deck - I would never have thought of that option, but Rick had a vision that was perfect for my home. I've always wondered why decks and retaining walls were a bit pricey but after observing first-hand, I now understand - it's a lot of work (I included some pictures below to demonstrate the level of work involved) A special thanks to Tony and Mike for an awesome job on the retaining wall and stamped concrete patio, and also Mark and Mike for the lighting and railing etc!!! They have never answered the phone, only a recorded message. I was quoted by Scott, Sales, to mudjack my walkway to my front porch as it had sunk about 5 inches. I was told by one of the workers mid-job that they ran into trouble due to piering underneath the walkway and couldn't complete job as quoted. Upon completion there were two 2 1/2" gaps running between my concrete platforms. When I told them that it was unacceptable and needed to be fixed, they told me to go to Home Depot and I could fill it myself with foam. I contacted Scott, he came out assessed it and agreed it was a problem and agreed to take off $200 from my bill. Still an unacceptable resolution because it was unsightly and a major safety hazard. I called him two days later stating that the foundation sunk again. His response, "I showed the owner the pictures of your walkway and the he said "tell her to keep the money and walk away from the job". I said that, too, is unacceptable business practice. I asked him if he was going to have these gaps filled. He did and it looks worse than before the job even started. His response by email. "I hear that you are very unhappy with how the patch looks. I'm very sorry, since you asked, I filled them out of kindness. It is now flush and has no gaps. We apologize that the job did not turn out the way you expected. You were not charged any money. You should be able to have that first pad along with the patch replaced for less than we would have charged to lift the several pads of your sidewalk." I live in an nice community and this is an eyesore. My curb appeal is ruined and the owner is not a man enough to resolve the issue. If needed, I have a dozen pictures to illustrate.

A rustic chandelier with fleur de lis is an unexpected accent and welcomes visitors to the garden center. The placards around the various plantings provided an educational component. After my brief walk around the grounds I almost wish that I had green thumb.
