Inside your transported back, three decades into a humble, eclectic old Timey cozy listening room. Far different from the noise, glamour and modernization of the Gulch. Full bar and large open concept with the possibility of dancing to the music. Several local patrons sitting near us filled me in more on the history of the property. Specifically, that it's not nearly as appealing as it used to be prior to changing ownership to a larger management group who apparently came in and "white washed" the place. They spoke wistfully of the prior decor and memorabilia that was removed and how much of the allure of the space was erased. It is a true dive bar, although, unlike some in the city, it now accepts cards and cash. To be honest, I miss the way it used to be in the original location. The bartenders name slips my mind, but I remember her serving at the second location, so she is a long time fixture. I am fairly certain the three older musicians playing that day are fixtures too, although I have never seen them before. As you enter, you will find the walls covered by ones that locals and tourists sign and affix there. Menu is limited and the drinks are much cheaper than Lower Broad, although more expensive than some of the other dive bars around the city (Santa's comes to mind). If you are around Music Row and searching out a dive bar, this is definitely your place.
