I LOVE this place so much! Popped in on a Sunday evening to hear a bluegrass jam and what a treat! The energy is next level! People from all over gathered to play and sing some great music. The vibe is cozy, warm, inviting and full of joy. You couldn't ask for a better spot to send a Sunday evening. Thank you to all of the musicians for sharing your talents! You're incredible!

Visit my girlfriend's hometown over the holiday. Her aunt took us here to experience the local music venue. I love it! As a country music lover for 20 years, this place hit my spot. The vibe is awesome. Musician jammed in with their talents while the crowd singing along the country songs. I Such an experience to explore the music city, and a highlight of this trip. Will definitely come back to enjoy the show again when I'm back in town.

If you ever want to know what "old Nashville" felt like, make sure to stop by The Station Inn for some music and beer. This place is truly a hidden gem and a favorite amongst locals and bluegrass enthusiasts. They only take cash at the door - they have an ATM outside if you need it - but they'll take cards for food and drinks at the bar. The menu is limited but classic. Beer only and hot dogs and pizzas are available - they infamously don't serve wine or liquor. The acts that play on stage are always so great, by recommend trying to go when there's a whole band playing as the acoustics are great in there!

Amazing place for a real Nashville band experience! Had the pleasure of listening to the French Family play - and everything was just perfect. Love love love this place. A true gem that is loved by locals. Make sure to look for Nashville Milo. The kindest, most knowledgeable soul.

So, my wife seeks out bluegrass music wherever we go, as she is a huge Billy Strings fan. We happened to be staying at the hotel down the street (walking distance), and she heard the rumors that it was a bluegrass spot. We initially dismissed the rumors, because what were the odds we were a quarter mile from the hot spot randomly? Then, before we went, when we were out and about in town, we STILL heard about this place as being the place to see bluegrass in Nashville. So, we finally went. It was an experience. It was a unique atmosphere (reminded me of a bingo hall setup with the tables). And the music was great. Very quiet in between songs and sets, and you sort of felt like you were in some historical bluegrass place. Counter service for food and drinks. Think of this place as the bluegrass/Nashville version of Preservation Hall in New Orleans. I wish they would invest in some better seats for the $25 cover, but that didn't diminish my experience enough to make it a 4. But, we REALLY enjoyed our time here, and, if you dig bluegrass, you won't be sorry. Very purist oriented. Definitely recommend, we will be back during our next visit, and see you there...

Really great music here! Not a huge bluegrass fan but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Beer was reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and warm. Only lost a star because cover was $20 and the person I went with was surprised and a little disappointed that they only served beer. Very cool ambiance though and would love to go back!

Went with my friends on our last day in Nashville during a trip. It's in a bit of an isolated location, but man was it worth driving out there. Highlight of our trip. It was such an authentic, wholesome and genuinely fun experience. We also got some hot dogs and beer which were delish. Everyone is so lovely here. A MUST.

Absolutely loved popping in here. A band was already playing. Visiting Nashville to check out the music seen and this is right on course. Cannot wait to come back.

Ask the Community - The Station Inn

    How much are tickets?

Usually no cover charge. Just need to arrive before they open to get a seat.

Is this a place one can go alone? Seems like a place only good for groups.

    Absolutely one can go alone.

Is there live music on weekday nights?

Yes, there is music on all nights except for major holidays. www.stationinn.com/events

What time should one arrive to make sure they get a seat?

It really depends on the show. Most shows do sell out and doors open for most shows at 7. Good chance by showing up one hour before showtime. The earlier you arrive, the better your chances.

How early would we need to arrive on a Saturday night in order to guarantee a table? (9pm show)

I think this is a nearly impossible question to answer, because the popularity of the show/artists is going to influence how many people show up and in turn how quickly seats will go. So I'd say the only way to guarantee (or the closest you can get… Read more

My sister and I are coming in from out of town. I am 23 but she is only 20. Will she be able to enjoy the music with me being under age?

Hi Elizabeth. Yes you will both be able to get into the club. But naturally, your sister won't be able to drink. Sorry, we can't help it! :-) See you soon.

Is it ok for a 14 and 16 year old?

Yes. No problem. Diner in the back for anyone.

I'm looking for a place that has a lot of country line dancing. Does this place have a large floor with dancing?

Hi Sarah, We are more of a sit and listen kind of venue. The best dance floor is outside at this… Read more

Is this an ok venue to bring kids to?

If the kids are well-behalf, don't cry loudly, or running around constantly, then it might be ok to bring them. The venue doesn't say that kids are not allowed. I believe they welcome everyone. But do get there earlier to get seats that are away… Read more

    Do you take reservations?

Hi Cathy! No, we do not take reservations for shows. All tickets are first come, first serve, cash only at the door. We open up two hours before the posted show time. Thank you for the question and enjoy the show!

I've lived in the Nashville area for a little over a decade now and every time I think I've seen a…read moreshow at every venue in town, I'm reminded of ones that have slipped me. The Bluebird Cafe was perhaps the biggest blind spot in my adventures as a concert goer. Thankfully for me, a can't miss opportunity arose and I was able to get tickets for it. I'm a HUGE Drive By Truckers fan and I've seen the band a dozen+ times live across the country. I've seen co-founder Patterson Hood solo a few times, but never Mike Cooley (the other co-founder) as he's simply never played live in a city I was living in or close to on a solo tour...until now. So when I saw he was doing 2 back to back shows at the Bluebird, a venue I had yet to experience, it seemed sort of kismet. I logged on when tickets went on sale and bought a great seat instantly for a very reasonable price. When I arrived, it was a bit early so I parked in the back gravel lot which was completely empty. There are Reddit scammers urging you to use Parkit and other apps to find a spot when you go to the Bluebird, but at least on this visit (a Thursday night for a sold out show) there was plenty of parking in the free gravel lot and in the lot for the adjacent bank which allows parking post 4:30...plus across the street in the Hillsboro neighborhood. If you have to Uber, there's a massive free lot at Green Hills mall 2 minutes away. Entry was easy, service was friendly. It's a cozy, warm environment. Food was good-- I ordered a "Bluebird basket" of chicken tenders and fries. I had a couple of beers and a whiskey on the rocks (Bulleit). They have a solid bar menu, some good beers (but none on tap), wine, and a few cocktail options. All reasonably priced. The show was fantastic. I love that they enforce a no-talking during the show and no late entry policy. Acoustics are fantastic. Service is friendly. Bathrooms are even clean, lol. It's a Nashville institution for a reason. See a show here.

However, a voice came from the bar area with directions. We chose to to the flight. The choices were selected with a little help from the bar. They came out pretty quickly. The tasting started and it out of 5, only one did not have a nasty and strong hoppy/bitter after taste. The select were Passion fruit, Hippies and Cowboy, Southern Wit, Urban Hiker, and Wildwood. As we spent our time no one seem to as if we needed anything or if our selection were ok. We got some "why are you in here type" looks. I was not impressed by this brewery. The customer service and my sensing of being not welcome was high. Note we were the only patrons. I would not return.

We absolutely loved hearing the people behind the music in such an intimate venue. There is ample room in the theater for seating and dining. The food was very reasonably priced and good quality. Gayle, Jim, Erin, and I were here at the 6 PM show on 4/29/26 that featured Jason Duke, Keesy Trimmer, and Chris Bondi. We actually met Keesy when we were walking to the venue as his car pulled up and he asked if we were heading to the Listening Room? When we said yes, he was very excited. We were too at the end of the evening, with all of us agreeing that this was one of, if not the highlight of our trip to Nashville. The Listening Room itself is a large and acoustically solid room within what looked like an old International Harvester Farm Equipment Building. Food and Drink are served and I believe there was a minimum in addition to the admission price. This is normally not a place that you can walk in, so buy your tickets early. We found the food to be "adequate", the service very good, and a 5 Star show experience. Each songwriter took turns with a number, explained some background on it, name dropped artists who recorded their songs, and told some great stories. It seems like the Nashville songwriting community knows each other well, which might explain the easy familiarity all 3 had with each other and their individual song writing efforts. We might have related to Chris Bondi a little more, especially after singing the "I Bet You Would Have Loved Her" tear jerker, and a really funny one on getting high while skiing. Keesy had a great one about a boat and "Time Makes Money Look Cheap" cowritten by him and others and recorded by Chris Janson. Jason Duke showcased "Dibs" that was recorded by Kelsea Ballerini. Or was it "That Could Still Be Us" performed by Keith Urban? Our only regret was that tickets were still available for the 9 PM show (with a new songwriting team) and we passed it up. Post Note: Gayle's song title idea for Keesy: Don't go Puking on my Boots. :)
