We went through weeks of searching for companies and most companies didn't have the actual proper insurance and license to work in Virginia. Once blue collar scholars took over, the job got on track and communication was perfect. During the permitting, inspection scheduling, framing, and finishing portions of the job. We now have a custom gazebo and a full Trex deck that our whole family loves during the spring, summer and fall months. When it is warm in the winter, we are also out on it as well. This job was completed in the summer of 2023 and we are now using them for some interior work.

I put a bid on Home Depot (rookie mistake) and had 2 contractors say I needed a cap that could be installed for $900. That didn't seem thorough so I called evolution chimney. They had a young man and his partner came out and they went in the basement and to the roof and told me all the work I needed done. They had to add a new and wide liner, fix the deteriorating staccato, ensured that there was no chance of carbon monoxide and of course the cap. It was well worth the investment. The first appointment I had there was a scheduling mishap so the woman that took my call offered to deploy an emergency weekend team but I opted to reschedule for the next week. The work was done in a few hours. I was worried about squirrels still getting into the attic so I put a metal trap up there but nothing has been in the attic since and no water seems to be coming through the wall. Highly recommend.

The latest project involved…read moretransforming my "nothing" of a backyard lawn into a dramatic lower patio and driveway turnaround (so I no longer have to back into a blind alley!) Miguel asked tons of questions to make sure he understood my vision of what I wanted - he even did a "test drive" with a car similar in size to mine to make sure the circle was large enough to accommodate the turn! I wanted permeable pavers and he offered choices that go perfectly with the colors of my house. Miguel is very good at keeping you informed of the project's status; he and his crew work really efficiently but they don't skimp on any details or excellence. As part of this latest project, Miguel poured a new concrete base for the deck steps (the previous owner had simply placed the bottom of the wood stair on bare ground!) and he added to the concrete area underneath the deck that he constructed previously, so I can more easily pull out my trash bins. I totally enjoy working with Miguel and I'll be using him for more projects in the future!
