We work with master gardeners and designers so we don't generally hire LJ for landscaping. The total paid to LJ including labor and supplies was approx $30,000. Many of the projects were completed to our delight, some to our satisfaction, and most recently we noticed a slip in quality. Overall we recommend LJ. And would suggest Ro anyone engaging them to walk everything down - grading, elevation, proper footing, dimensions, methods TWICE. Go over everything twice. Make sure you are on the same page and that the final intended put-through end result is CLEAR. I disagreed and insisted that he revise the drawings; he refused because he had already applied for the permit. My town also requires a permit. According to the contract, he was to obtain all permits necessary to start work. He refused to pay for the town permit, or to return my money so I could obtain the permit. When confronted with his unprofessional "we'll just modify the plans as we build" approach, he became very unfriendly and told me this was all my fault. I'm trying to understand why it is my fault that he did not revise the architectural drawings to my satisfaction BEFORE applying for a permit. Steer clear of this organization--buyer beware!
