I had severe back pain that was so agonizing I couldn't sleep. Based on his positive reviews, I made an appointment with Dr. Curcuruto. He immediately diagnosed my issue(s), checked my alignment and skillfully adjusted my lower vertebrae, which had suddenly shifted causing a pinched nerve. Dr Charles Curcuruto has been my chiropractor -- forever! He has been "fixing me" since 1979 -- Wow -- over 33 years -- Seriously he is the best chiropractor in the world and I have to drive all the way from Westside into the Valley to see him. I have a condition known as Scoliosis of the spine, which my spine is bent in an S curve. Every other chiropractor that I have met has never been able to do chiropractic movement to "crack" my back -- EXCEPT Dr. Curcuruto is the only person who can manipulate my back and "crack" it with no problem. I am amazed every time he can do it since my condition makes it very, very difficult, if at all, that a Chiropractor can "crack" my back. So I will never let him "retire"! And I even tried a woman chiropractor (with a gift certificate and did not want to offend the person who gave me the gift). This woman chiropractor who shall remain nameless used the Chirpractic contraption (see below) which was suppose to crack my back, but all it did was irritate it more - so much that I had to go back to Dr Curcuruto.. I highly suggest that prior to any chiropractic work done (even if its been over a year) that you get an x-ray of your spine and neck to make sure that you don't have any herniated disks. My friend had a herniated disk and went to the Chiropractor who fixed his sore arms and legs; only to end up in the emergency hospital to find out that it was a herniated disk in his neck. Which he had to get surgery in his neck to remove the herniated disk before it cut into to his spinal cord and could paralyzed him. So its better to find out what shape your spine and neck disks are before you do any chiropractic adjustments. Whatever you do, do not have anyone use the Chiropractic contraption (seems to be used by many women chiropractors these days) which you lay on and the Chiropractor pushes down on your back and the device does all the work which it automatically is suppose to quickly snap it so that it cracks. What a joke! Dr Curcuruto does not use this device since he manually manipulates your back the old fashion way. Luckily I found Dr. Curcuruto from another retired Chiropractor who told me that the Dean of her Chiropractic College went to see Dr Curcuruto himself. I figured that if the Dean of the Chiropractic College who could see any one for treatment, and was seeing Dr Curcuruto, then Dr Curcuruto was definitely the "go to person" for my condition. So if you are having problems, you need to see Dr Curcuruto several times before he is able to get you up and going. I had to write this review - and now I am scared I won't get my favorite time slot when I see hm. He only works Mon, Weds, Fri and half a day on Saturday...so as it is...its tough to see him cause he gets pretty booked. Mama-san my 83 years old mother, loves Dr Curcuruto also -- and he loves her! Dr. Curcuruto is a magus of a highest degree in the physical body healing arts! My husband suffered a neck pain and on and off numbness for 6-7 years. Charles is a great chiro and a very nice guy - friendly and gives thorough, adjustments. I've been going to him for a number of years - typically monthly visits to keep my lumbar area in alignment, although he checks and adjusts everything from the neck down. He's also been excellent at popping my shoulder back into place when I spend too much time on my side, zoned out in front of the TV. Dr. Curcuruto is one of the best chiropractors ever! I began visiting him about 12 years ago after a minor car accident. Then I continued seeing him to maintain my health. I've been to a few chiropractors in the past, and what I find different about Dr. Curcuruto is that he is very intuitive. Other doctors may have the textbook knowledge, but he can sense beyond what is taught. I remember him asking me after a routine spinal adjustment if there was anything else that I had an issue with. I said "Actually yes, my right toe is numb. Happens every time that I wear high heels." I had no idea that he could adjust my foot. Immediately afterwards, the feeling came back. After that visit, I would have him help me with my wrists and elbows, as well. I am skincare therapist and the repetitive movements during the facials would cause me issues. Dr. Curcuruto never ceased to amaze me! Any problem that I threw out at him, he would fix. I felt like Humpty Dumpty, he would always put me back together again. About 5 years ago, I moved from Burbank to Kansas City. Although, I have seen three chiropractors in Kansas City, and each are very talented in their own right, I still make trips back to Los Angeles to see Dr. Curcuruto. He can do what the others just can't do... at times my jaw gets out of alignment. If that has ever happened to you, then you know how painful it is. And, it's worth the price of a plane ticket to have it fixed! I haven't used Dr. Curcuruto as a human chiropractor, but as an equine chiropractor I was very disappointed. A summary of the pros/cons: Pros: Punctual Affordable Cons: Ineffective & irresponsible - Dr. Curcuruto took less than two minutes to "adjust" my horse, after which I saw zero improvement. Five days later I called another equine chiropractor who came out and spent about 30 minutes adjusting my horse and my horse was immediately improved and returned to work. I called Dr. Curcuruto to inform him that the adjustment did not work, and invite him to return the fee I paid, but he chose not to return my call. I would not recommend this guy as an equine chiro, this bordered on charlatanry. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Charles Curcuruto for over 5 years. My husband and 2 daughters are also patients. I gave him the highest recommendation for many reasons. First, the office staff is delightful. They are smart and helpful. Any one of them will get you in ASAP and on a moments notice. I have even walked in without calling first (no appointment) and they smile and ask how you are and get you in to see the doctor just as quickly as possible. Dr. Curcuruto is very personable and sensitive. He works very hard to make sure that you are comfortable and that he understands what is bothering you and that he takes care of that issue and anything else he finds. He is big enough and strong enough to adjust anyone (including my husband and my daughter's 6 ft. 6 inch best friend). Another issue is cost: Dr. Curcuruto's cost is extremely reasonable. He NEVER orders unnecessary x-rays or ultrasounds or anything that the patient doesn't need or want. I am so happy that Dr. Curcuruto is in Burbank! I used to drive across the San Fernando Valley to see him but now he is right here in Burbank and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Dr. Curcuruto's services. He is the best! read more

Dr. Curcuruto is amazing. He's a no frills, no fuss kind of guy that gets the problem fixed. He'll be honest and let you know how it is and what kind of treatment you need and for how long. He doesn't just try to get you to come in to take your money because he knows that times are hard and not everyone getting treatment can go through their health insurance. I admit, I only go when I really need to but only because $40 to $45 per adjustment is pretty steep when it's out of pocket, but so worth it when it gets the problem fixed. I think the first adjustment and consultation is a little bit more because of the assessment but thereafter, it's about $40 to $45, with an additional $2 for credit card.
