I've been so excited to review Cure! This is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in town and dare I say it - my favorite of the good luck family chain of restaurants I love the ambiance - unlike good look it is a bit more cozy. I love sitting at the bar, the bartenders are very fun to talk to! Let's talk drinks - so many options and the menu is so unique! they have a shaken, still, and bubbly option, something for everyone. I think some of them can be non alcoholic if you ask :) the drinks are always impressive, I've never been disappointed the food menu is perfect for sharing. It's French inspired cuisine so it is definitely meat heavy. My favorite dishes are below: the bahn mi is sooo good, the sauce is creamy and the bread from Flour city is perfectly crunchy The beef tartare is such a great portion and under 20 bucks!! Most places charge a lot more for it. If raw meat is not your thing then I'd avoid it but I'd give it a chance if you're adventurous. And finally the amazing steak - medium rare, juicy, perfectly salted. The fries are super addicting. Not dry at all. They have a good house sauce to dip it in (akin to good luck). What a great find! I was in Rochester for an art exhibition at VSW for exactly one night. My friend and I drove in from Philly, made it just in time for the exhibition and then afterwards wanted a cozy place to drink cocktails and eat delicious food. After perusing Yelp reviews, I found a cozy little place called Grace and Disgraced. It was lovely inside but learned that reservations were required. I asked the owner for a recommendation and he pointed us here. This is exactly what we were looking for! Delicious, rustic French food, beautiful cocktails and a table for two in a charming, glowy dining room. I am serious when I say the charm here is forefront. But not at all second to that charm is the food! I had the merguez sausage over root vegetable and lentils and my friend had the beef bourguignon. Both of these were stand out dishes! The melted brie with chilled potatoes to start complimented these dishes beautifully! The cocktails were so well-made and I can't tell you thankfull I am that we were directed here. A small intimate restaurant. Staff is friendly and warm. They have a lovely cocktail program and a compact wine selection. A few things.. the food is good, not great. Sorry not sorry. The Charcuterie is worth getting and ask for extra bread. I believe it's from Flour City. Mussels and Frites are tasty but I wished the sauce/liquor had a little more flavor. Fries are good but I find them to be a little too dark for my liking as if they were fried hard. The Steak Frites like the mussels they should be shared, it's a lot to eat on your own. It was tasty but the sauce or was it compound butter was a bit of a salt bomb. We got for dessert the chocolate mousse last time it was really good. The presentation was lazy it was in a juice glass. The mouse was not firm it was as if it had been sitting out for a while. The idea of adding the salted caramel although fun made it dare I say runny?! We brought a bottle of our own and the corkage fee was $20 and rather affordable. All in all as long as my friend was happy it was her birthday and her pick. When I made a reservation and let them know it was for a birthday. No acknowledgement of it.. I get it sometimes things get lost in the shuffle but this was for a friend and her first visit. I had the beef and biscuits which was a great balance of hearty meat/carbs with some veggies thrown in. The biscuits were crispy outside and soft inside which was perfect. I'd definitely get this dish again! My friend had the crème brûlée toast which was actually crisp on top like a real crème brûlée. Super tasty. Have only been here a few times and have always been consistently disappointed. After today I will not go again. Brunch at 1 pm. No reservation. Seated in the middle of the restaurant in the middle of all the traffic. Ordered our food. And waited. And waited. And waited. When it showed up, my burger was cold. My friend's toast was cold. We asked for it to be warmed up. Potatoes tasty but drenched in salt. I've been drinking water all afternoon and still feel dehydrated. So Cure has been on my list for so long and I decided to make reservations for mother's Day. I took my wife, daughter and her parents out for brunch. Today was also the markets first flower day of the year so it was a great combo. It's pretty small inside and definitely cozy. Not a lot of tables but it works. The staff were super friendly and the everything from the lemonade to the food was pretty good. Not outstanding, not OMG we have to come back. But pretty good. Unfortunately, it's not all pretty good. We waited 45 minutes for our brunch! For 2 burgers, a French toast and 1 Benedict seems like way too long. Next up was the descriptions and what we got... Dijion mayo, I'm sorry aoili, is listed as an ingredient on the Royale with cheese it should be first.In Bold. And CAPITALIZED. lol. Next up the "creme brulee" French toast should just read French toast without syrup. There is no sugar crusted custard here. There was some custard inside, maybe? And some of it had been blown torched but not well. Last up the price. I don't mind paying well for good food and service, mostly I'm there for the good food and the food was ok but definitely not good. Maybe MAYBE 7 out of ten? For $100? Not acceptable. So the recap? Stuff anyone can cook like french toast and burgers, a 45 minute wait, overpriced for what they serve. Oh yeah none of the food was hot either. Cure is always a lovely dining and cocktail experience. We headed over for some late night eats with fried anchovies and the AHF beef tartare. The anchovies could have been a bit crispier, but they were tasty, and the tartare was lovely on some fantastic bread. The cocktails are the highlight of this place. Visited Cure on a Sunday for brunch. It wasn't busy so they took us right away with no reservation or wait. The staff and our server were very nice and friendly. Small, cute and cozy place. Menu was a bit confusing to read (a lot of French words I assume ?) but it wasn't a problem or nothing google can't help with. I ordered omelette which came with no sides(?) or meat and when asked to add sausage, server had to check "if they can do it" ?.... Okay. They did add it after all. Burger was really good but at the same time felt like it was missing some kind of veggie or greenery in it... it was just meat/cheese/egg. It also came with no sides so we added potatoes... Note, portions are on a smaller size. We thought we can share potatoes between me and my husband but it was barely enough for one person. Next time I would have to order 2 for hubby and 1 for myself... not convenient. Belgian waffle was extremely good though!!! If I came back it would be definitely for it! It was surprisingly bigger so as for dessert- good sharing plate. Overall food was very very good. Prices are good but don't get fooled. Stopped in for brunch and I am looking forward to going back soon. Small, sunlit, and cozy location within the public market with simple parking in the surrounding lots. Excellent and reasonably priced brunch cocktails available. They serve java's coffee which is always great. My husband got the beef with biscuits with wonderful flavorful beef short rib and perfectly poached eggs with rosemary biscuits. The beef was perfect, it would've been a great dish with just beef and poached eggs, but the rosemary in the biscuit was very complimentary. I had the Royale with cheese. A juicy burger with over easy egg with lovely camembert and caramelized onion served with side of watermelon - very refreshing. We planned to split some of the apple pie waffle and bring some home, but it was so perfect we practically licked the plate. The apple pie waffle is a must get, tastes just how described. Romance is in the air! Came here for dinner, and it was easily one of the most romantic settings I've ever been to. Tucked away on the far side of the public market, Cure is home to "locally sourced French-farm cuisine." Its outside walls are covered with some of the beautiful murals that give Rochester so much character. FOOD: Foie gras-bone marrow toast 5/5: The perfect consistency of light, buttery, and creaminess. Generously spread on top of freshly baked bread. The contrasting textures tasted as satisfying as it pleased aesthetically. Spaghetti provencal 4/5: Came with tomato, olives, and anchovy. Such a simple but lovely dish. The tomatoes provided a subtle acidity that balanced the strong flavors from the olives and anchovies. Roasted zucchini 3/5: Decent, but the portion was much smaller than expected. The combination of sausage with feta and mint tasted unique and delicious. However, the tomato sauce was lackluster and didn't do much to elevate the dish. We enjoyed our time here. We made reservations in advance and were seated immediately. All staff was wearing masks, hand sanitizer was available at the front, and they have a plastic shield at the host stand. They have a varied menu so there are lots of options. Our waitress was nice, and though there was a lit bit of a wait for the food, it was worth the wait! We both enjoyed our meals. I got the fettuccini with mushrooms, and my boyfriend got the special for the night, the pork belly. Brunch at Cure is exceptional, perhaps the best of the many places we've been in Rochester over the years. Service is top-notch. Ambiance and attention to detail are stellar. Cure is just such a charming, special place. I really recommend reservations on Sundays. I am thankful we had them, as the restaurant filled up quickly and we were the first diners to arrive today. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry syrup and they were among the best I have ever had anywhere in my 47 years. They were outstanding - fresh, fluffy & oh so flavorful. My husband had the Boudin Benedict with a side of potatoes and he devoured it all. My one minor complaint? My coffee was served in a paper cup. Date night Atmosphere is great, intimate without being stuffy or snooty. Servise was prompt, kind, and very helpful. We got house pickles and the grilled bread, a great combo. The pickles are a must. Then we had the duck crepes and the pumpkin salad, both so delicious. The sauce on the crepes was one of those ones you want to bathe in. Cure is more evidence that even in smaller cities, there's great food everywhere. Cure is also helping make the case that dining out is a real extravagance. Came in for lunch last week and almost everything I tried was great. The cocktails, in particular, were fantastic; between the Blinker, Like a Shark, and the classic Gin & Tonic, I left very satisfied with the drinks. Food and service were also strong. The beef tartare, the brandade (although, as usual at restaurants, these were served with not nearly enough bread!!), and the fried gnocchi were all great and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the creme brulee dessert. (The chocolates sampler was good too, just not a surprise.) I was expecting prices to be a little lower than what I see regularly in Chicago, but that was not the case. COVID, staffing, supply chain, you name it...prices are going up. $49 for a steak frites order (easily the highest I have seen in any city I've visited this year; I've bought steaks at other high-end places for just above that, but Cure does serve a 16-oz. steak with their version) is ridiculous...or, it's the new normal. Prices are a ding for me right now, and it's making me rethink how often I can afford to eat out in 2022. Otherwise, a great experience. I'll be back for future visits when I come to town! read more

Finally FINALLY made my way into Cure after having *meant* to go there for...years? Seriously! Never a cocktail, never a snack, never a stepped foot into Cure until this past weekend, when I finally got to experience the glory that is this cozy French spot. Our service, cocktails, and food were all absolutely top notch, and they style of the restaurant made me feel as though I was transported far, far away. We started with cocktails! I ordered a tequila-based cocktail with rosemary and grapefruit, and it was outstanding. Well balanced and the burnt rosemary made the whole cocktail really come to life in my NOSE before I even took a sip. We moved onto to the plateau de fromage and both really appreciated the time our server took to dig in and let us know where each cheese was sourced from and what we were getting ourselves into. I was obsessed with the mushroom brie paired with the fruit compote the plate is served with. Would not recommend skipping this! We then moved on to charcuterie - which included prosciutto, speck, salame, and some really lovely pickled veggies - among other things. Paired with flour city bread, both of our boards made for a most ideal picky late-night dinner, and I can't wait to get back and sample out more of the menu (hello BRUNCH!) ASAP. read more

This is the cutest little spot! We've frequented Cure a few times over the years and just revisited. Ambiance is second to none. With it being nestled away in Rochesters public market, it feels like you could be in a cozy nook in a little French village. Oui oui! We had Mike as a server who was excellent. Very well versed in cuisine and what's best on Cures menu. We ordered a tequila cocktail and their martini which both came in cute little glasses and were tasty. Mike helped us pick out a few small plates; asparagus salad, roasted Brie, artichokes, and beef tartar. I would give all dishes 4 stars with the artichokes getting a 2 as it could use more seasoning. The Brie is always a crowd pleaser, although seemed small this go round. And the beef tartar was very tasty. Cure is a place to bring someone with a more developed palate, or who will literally try anything as they have an adventurous menu. Third try is a disaster! Cure has gone downhill since we first went a year ago. Went for Sunday brunch yesterday and will not be going back. The place looks and feels as if it needs a good deep cleaning, I understand the feel they are going for, but it's now dingy. The server was so annoying, trying to be all cutesy with phrases and baby talking, not appropriate at all. Bloody Mary's have no garnish except a bad green olive, and $14 a pop. Come on..... you can do better. Ordered the burger, literally that is all you get, the burger on a tiny square plate. It would cost them next to nothing to toss a simple green salad on the plate. Husband order blue crab Benedict, it mentions a mixed green salad, but it was literally 3 pieces of greens under the Benedict. From the minute you walk in, you feel like you are in some French cafe or something- it's so cute! The servers are all really nice, and them seem super organized in process for getting you in and taken care of. Now for the drinks/food! I went with the Pét Nat rosé and liked it so much that I had 3 glasses! For my meal I went all out and got the Royale with Cheese which was out of this world!! I'm a traveling nurse and have been in Rochester for 26 weeks. We found this little place by luck and keep coming back for the homemade hot dog on Sunday night after work. I have to say this is the coolest little place! I don't like gin and tonic but they have the coolest carbonated gin and tonic and I order 2 every time! Shout out to Dan, the bartender. He is so knowledgeable in his field and is a really cool guy! Him and the hot dog are why I keep coming back! Had a wonderful Sunday brunch yesterday. We had a 1:30 reservation but after shopping at the flea market we were ready 2 hrs earlier r. I asked if they could accommodate us and the very friendly hostess said we could either sit at the bar or at a high top in the back of the dining room. We chose the high top. We had the avocado toast, chickpea crepe, bagel lox and the royale with cheese. Also tried their community coffee and loved it!!. The environment is cozy, a little loud but fun. The service was outstanding, the staff was friendly except our waiter brought the check to us without asking if we were ready for it (we weren't, i wanted another drink). The absolute best dinner experience I've had in a very long time. Cure has been on my radar for years now, and since I was in Rochester visiting a friend, I suggested we stop in for dinner. We made reservations for 5:30 but were able to get seated even earlier which was fantastic. Our server was super kind and helpful in explaining how Cure functions: plates come out as they're ready and sharing is heavily encouraged. We started with their assortment of pickles and their baked Brie with potatoes. The pickles were fantastic, particularly the cauliflower. I enjoyed the Brie as well; it was delicious on top of the potatoes and the onion jam perfected the flavor. For my main, I opted for their famous banh mi. I am still blown away by how delicious it was. Everything in the sandwich was proportioned perfectly and it all sat between two thick slices of bread. My friend got the fettuccine with squash and loved it. I stole a bite and I have to say, the pasta was so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend you stop in if you're in the area. Absolutely love Cure for their delicious food, unique drinks, and cozy atmosphere. They have a unique cocktail menu divided into three main themes: shaken, still, and carbonated. They put a spin on some classic drinks, and it's a fun way to try something new--I really enjoyed the No Zoo, Dude. Our server said that their menu and service has changed since the beginning of the pandemic, so we opted for choosing a few dishes to share amongst the table to maximize what we could try. I recommend any of the dishes that come with bread, as they grill it and top it with big, flaky salt, making it the perfect vessel to sop up sauces from the dishes. The stars of our meal was the mussels (Moules Frites) and Crispy Half Chicken. The mussels arrived piled on a large dish and accompanied by the crispiest fries on top, making a pretty perfect pairing. If you had to choose one entree though, I'd absolutely go for the chicken. I don't know how they pulled it off, but it's so crispy and caramelized on the outside, but the interior is perfectly cooked at juicy. It's too good of a dish to pass up! We chose to sit outside because the weather was so nice, but I've also sat inside and it's been just as pleasant. It's tucked away in the public market so there isn't too much traffic in the evenings, making it a romantic spot for a date night. Some of the best food I've had in a long time! The menu was super unique, and everything we ordered was delicious. I loved the roasted garlic and beef tartare to start us off and the cocktails are hand crafted and fun! The server, whose name she asked me not to mention, she did a really great job, checking on us, creating great conversation, and making sure I and my guests felt very welcomed and comfortable. The food options at first were looking kinda iffy but after ordering the first appetizer, the food was tasting good so the group I was with, we ended up getting some dip and bread, that chicken dish, and the steak and fries, which all was very very good. We then had this sausage with jelly which looked iffy and wasn't good to me and I wouldn't get that again because...yeah it's a no for me dawg lol. The liquor was good but strong so be careful. Cocktails were well crafted with good taste; they are on the sweeter side, so buyer beware. The the cheese plate was lovely, but could have done with a bit more bread. Roasted garlic had nice taste, but the toasted bread was not in fact warm. I realize warm toast is difficult though, so I give them a pass. The squash had was almost too rich, but with solid flavor and could have done with a little more salt. The bahn mi was fantastic, would get it again. Thursday evening, we went out to early dinner, 5:30. We had reservations but I am not sure it was necessary that early. Most of the tables around us were empty. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Cure has a nice cocktail menu, I ordered a Negroni. Never had one but I read about it in a book. Delicious. A great summertime, high time drink. We shared our dinner order. We started with Beef Tartar. Overall, it was good. It came with an egg on top, a spoon of mustard, some toast and capers on the side. I think I would have liked the capers in the meat with some Worcestershire sauce and double ground the beef. On the other hand, if I return, I will order it again. The Coq au Vin was made in heaven. The chicken was perfectly braised with a crispy skin. I wanted to swim in the pan gravy but settled for dipping bread into it. Great dinner. We both enjoyed it. read more

A lovely Sunday evening experienced here. Walked in to an eclectic space, where the servers had honest, extremely knowledgeable feedback and advice on what they had. We enjoyed every. single. thing. The yayguhbaums was surprisingly delicious and not your typical 21 year old jagermeister experience. We ordered 4 plates to share (as sharing is the recommended style). Charcuterie, crispy chicken, mussels & blue oyster mushroom pasta...yum! We then took the bean cassoulet that was left over from the chicken dish, mixed it with the sauce left over from the mussels and scooped it on the the Flour City bread. WOW!!! This could be a new dish in and of itself. And the chocolate mousse at the end was exactly like our server said, insane!!!! Five stars all the way around! read more
