I asked for steak sauce, fyi, I never ask for steak sauce. The most ridiculous part of it all is if you're in a party of 5 or more they will only except one check for the whole party . Curfew is such a cool place! I love the decor and vibes here. The food was great as well. I had the burger with fries and it was delicious. Our server was friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. I will say they seemed to be understaffed so the service was a bit slow but the staff working was doing the best they could under those circumstances. Worth stopping in for a bite to eat! read more

Presentation is everything when it comes to how I view a restaurant. I really enjoyed the restaurant's vibe and ambience. The food was okay, not much flavor though. With a dash of salt, the meals could have been taken to the next level. I look forward to trying the brunch meals. read more

After checking-in at Canopy Hotel, we decided to have dinner at Curfew Restaurant to have a relaxing evening. However, our food experience didn't go well with our expectation. Ambience / location is good. Food is oK, nothing special, but the service is very disappointing. It took forever to bring our simple order. Accordingly, "they are short of workers due to the pandemic." Really!?! It was not a busy evening, almost empty. So we left dissatisfied & hungry. At the top of it, when we received our bill, the gratuity of 20% was included at the final check, in spite of the bad service. Folks, I won't recommend to come to this restaurant. My wife took me here for my birthday dinner. It was just the two of us so it was nice. The place was clean and the staff wore masks and gloves. They were nice and helpful and our server was nice as well. I enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe. The food and drinks were also good. The weird thing is that our appetizers came out super fast...under 5 minutes. Our main dishes seemed to take a lot longer...like 30 minutes. There were a lot of people there so maybe there was a backup in the kitchen. I had the steak since it was my birthday. It was cooked just the way I like it (medium rare) but it lacked flavor. Don't waste your time. It's convenient if you're staying at The Canopy Hotel but please find somewhere else to eat. We got in and was too tired to go out to eat. The food was under seasoned and the service was horrible. We were a table of 3 and 1 of only maybe 2 tables. Our waiter did bare minimum. He looked at my empty glass and walked off; well I was expecting a refill but that was a mistake. Never knew I had to ask for refills but oh well. I've passed this place multiple times. It's never caught my eye till I saw Hannah out one night and she told me about this place. She recommended I'd try this drink called the Finale. This is my third time at Curfew, which means I really enjoy going there. The atmosphere, inside and outside on the patio, is great. Hannah, who seem to wear multiple hats there, is AWESOME!! So delicious! I am a sucker for a good fish and brussel sprouts dishes, and Curfew offers both! The house salad was very tasty and refreshing! The redfish comes with brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and grits - so it's AMAZING! Also the side of brussel sprouts were unmatched. They are topped with goat cheese, so how could they be bad?? Food was okay. Was our 4th option as the other downtown locations required reservations. Don ordered steak $39 and it was half fat . I only ordered chicken livers and they were all breading. I asked for bread ( I saw all the tables around us with little loaves or garlic toast) they brought me 1 slice of plain white bread . We stayed at the hotel this restaurant is located in so we ate here quite a few times. Every time the food and service was excellent. The manager let us know they were short staffed but we never felt it! The chef there has a vision and I like it. The server proceeded to tell us that the kitchen is closed so they won't serve us. Actually told us to go across the street. We will never go back. Saw the menu & so over priced. I ordered food from this place at 6:32, and did not receive my order until over and hour and a half later. I ordered a well done bacon burger and it was not fully cooked at all. I don't want to mention our servers name as I don't want anyone to lose a job and it may be just bad training or lack thereof. I'm sure it's hard to get staff in this near post pandemic environment. Our party of five were seated on a Monday night January 9th, 2023 and the place looked to be not busy at all, maybe about 4 or 5 tables of people being served and about 3 people at the bar. We ordered two mixed drinks and one beer then waited an interminable amount of time for them to arrive. I should say, partially arrive. NO beer yet. How hard is it to pour a beer? 30 minutes in we still hadn't even ordered our food yet. Finally the beer arrives and we order. Long time before it arrives and it is very mediocre yet expensive. Mushroom pizza had no sauce on it that I could tell, just dry crust with cheese and shrooms. More like an appetizer sized portion as well. Very disappointing. My friends ordered the shrimp dinner and it was way over salted, almost inedible. Server was not friendly and did not seem to care about how slow things were nor ever checked in on asking how the food was or if wanting more drinks, etc. Yikes, much better places to eat at in Memphis. I loved Curfew! It was something new and fresh that Memphis needed. The brunch was phenomenal and the atmosphere and service was superb. The Deviled Eggs are to die for! The shrimp has a fresh lemon flavor that I greatly appreciated and enjoyed. I'll be back very soon! read more

Shame that we did not get to try the food. It looked amazing and it has remained packed during our stay at the attached hotel. We arrived around 3:30 on a Saturday with dinner reservations later that night somewhere else. We had not had lunch and wanted to order drinks and a couple of apps to get us through the afternoon. Our server (Bee) came to our table and I ordered the $18 glass of wine and asked about apps saying we were just needing something to get us through. She said, "excuse me", walked away and never came back but did complain to her host at the time that we were not ordering dinner and she was angry about a potentially small bill/tip. Then she walked away and never came back to our table. As I was pretty pissed about the very low level of class and attitude, I went up to the host and said that due to the exchange, that we heard, and the crap attitude, we would be leaving and we did. What bothered me most is that I kept getting told that they were in a shift change and she did not want to take on this low table as a last table. This to me indicates low tips for the day and I guess I can see why. Too bad because typically I am a 30-40% tipper and she might have been ok with is in the end. Now, we are at Hueys down the street loving our server. Update on that in the next post. read more

The environment was nice but not for the price of the entrees only 4 to choose from and for the high price without table clothes on the table was somewhat average. I came here with my family during a day trip to downtown Memphis and we were incredibly disappointed. A simple burger was priced at $20, and most lunch entrees were around that price point. I do not mind paying for high quality food, however, this food did not deserve that price tag. The burger was over cooked and flavorless. The catfish sandwich had no flavor. The chicken sandwich was soggy. The sausage in the octopus appetizer was almost inedible. On top of that, the food took 45 minutes to come out after we ordered. There were only 3 other tables sat at the time so I'm not sure how the food took so long. If you want to spend $30/person on a lunch, there are plenty of better options in Memphis. You could even get a better quality meal for half the price. The drinks were the only good part of the experience and our server was doing her best. We were excited to check out something new but I would not recommend anyone visiting Memphis to eat here. read more

My husband and I are the only people standing at the outside bar waiting for the bartender to help us. He walks by us probably TEN times without even acknowledging our presence. Not even a "hey guys I'll be right with you".... Nope. He sees us. We make eye contact. I am mortified that this is the type of service a new place in popping downtown Memphis has. This restaurant is inside the Canopy hotel, in downtown Memphis. Walking in, the place has nice ambiance. The bar area is actually beautiful. I'll be back for that. We were promptly seated, and the vibe in the restaurant area was underwhelming, compared to the bar. We ordered drinks, the spicy chicken wings, and burgers. The menu had a mix of eclectic-sounding foods that seemed difficult to master in a restaurant like this. Hence, we ordered the wings and burgers. The food came before our drinks, which is a real faux pas. My burger was decent, but overcooked. I asked for medium rare and it came medium-well. The wings were a miss. The texture and flavor were way off, in a city known for great wings. The drinks were okay. Our server sensed we weren't happy, and apologized profusely. Nice service, but average food. If you're staying at the Canopy, this isn't a terrible place to go if the weather is bad. Otherwise, downtown Memphis has outstanding food, service, and drinks that are a short walk away in every direction. read more
