As an international traveling food critic and unbeknownst to the staff, the following is what I experienced: - The hostess failed to read the request inside the reservation for requested seating location. + Server Jayla, was outstanding throughout, especially for being her first day and maybe her first table. Her situational awareness and attention to detail are spot on. Her positive and upbeat attitude instills that back into the establishment and the people around her. - Took over 40 minutes for our meal to arrive from ordering and it was cold. - Asparagus was puny and old, tasted like twigs, and had the consistency of it. Had to spit it out. - Very overcooked egg on top of the hamburger. If you are in the area DO NOT waste your time dining here!!! read more

The first weekend in March, my entire family showed up to celebrate my mom's birthday. Overall decent experience. I made the reservation via OpenTable and when calling to increase my headcount, I was told I had to speak with the GM. Unfortunately I was never able to catch up with him until the day of my event. To ensure everyone would be seated (~20 people), I had 2 reservations, which was frowned upon. Luckily we were all seated in close proximity. Even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated, which I found interesting because I had to confirm more than once. Due to the size of our party, we had 2 servers. The one over my table was Lin, not sure the name of the young lady. Lin was very attentive and ensured we were taking care of in a timely manner. Service with the female server (from the what I was told) wasn't as great. My food and drink were great. Tasty, Warm and Delicious. I also ordered Philly Steak Eggrolls but ate them too quickly to snap a picture. I was not a fan of the new sauce that comes on the side. read more

The potatoes au gratin were discolored inside, burnt on top, and tasted absolutely awful. I told the waitress I didn't care for them, and instead of trying to make it right, she just brought the check. If you're staying in the area, do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. I went to Firebirds and got the Three course meal special. It was a really great deal. Our appetizer to share was the oven roasted wings were our absolutely a 10 out of 10 to me. They wasn't overly salty. They had a lot of great flavor and the ranch is bomb. I had the steakhouse wedge salad, which was absolutely delicious. It had it enough of dressing, a fried onion ring, with bacon, bits, and tomatoes absolutely delicious crisp salad. For my entrée I had the salmon with shrimp with the broccoli and it was again very delicious the shrimp would cook perfectly. They were not rubbery at all. The broccoli steel had a bit of a bite to it, which I loved everything was great. The dessert I forgot to take a picture of, but I got the brownie with the vanilla bean ice cream, which was a great treat. A nice size piece of chocolate brownie which was super moist and the vanilla bean ice cream was a perfect match. Firebird ambience is really nice. Our server was pretty cool. This restaurant is a very short walk from the hotel, and while it has the look and feel of a chain (Is it?), the food is pretty tasty, nothing gourmet to be sure but well above average. I will probably return. The staff are all real friendly and welcoming. We came at an odd hour, 2:30, but our waitress still let us order lunch. We had one ofAlex's, lemonade which was really good, they don't dump a bunch of sugar in it. Equally as good was a blood orange drink that was awesome. The Steak Tacos features some tasty tender beef and they were a generous size. The fruit that accompanied them was fresh. The burger with smoked cheddar was delicious.and cooked ever so slightly more than medium, which worked. Good size burger too, nice and thick and a bun that didn't melt or fall apart. My side of Grilled Street Corn was amazing, I highly recommend getting that. read more

Servuce was amazing. Our server was Glenn, he jept our glasses filled, was polite and attentive. The food didn't take long. I had the salmkn and shrimp on the special menu. The grits had no flavor. The lobster sauce should have covered the grits then put the salmon and shrimp on top...maybe not aesthetically pleasing, but it would have taste better. We had reservations on a Saturday evening and didn't wait longer than 10-15 minutes to be seated. The noise level was normal and the restaurant appeared to be clean. read more

Great Experience!! Everyone at every stage was wonderful! We called in our reservation and the person who set up our reservation was very kind and helpful. Those at the desk were very quick to confirm our reservation and seat us. It's a cozy place with low lighting, a fireplace, and calm ambiance video on the screen in the waiting area. Our waitress and the team who assisted her were incredible! She was very sweet and caring. She asked us clarifying questions and made sure that the kiddos were taken care of. They kept our drinks full and when one of the kids remembered suddenly that she really liked the mashed potatoes on a previous visit, one of the waiters overheard her and brought her a side of mashed potatoes. None of us had asked, so it was such a surprise! She was so excited! The food was great! Everything was fresh and hot. Fish and steaks were all cooked perfectly! Everything had a great flavor! Table for five please! Got together with my work friends for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Place wasn't super busy this night. Our waiter, Elvis, was amazing. He kept us laughing and was super sweet and attentive during our entire dining experience. We pretty much all ordered from the appetizer menu this time around, with just about everyone getting the smoked wings. I opted for the bacon deviled eggs and Philly cheesesteak egg rolls myself. I was expecting sweet deviled eggs. They were not. That being said, I still enjoyed them (just a different taste than what I'm used to). The candied bacon and fresh jalapeño on top gave it a unique taste. The eggs rolls were yummy, especially paired with the Thai chili/hot mustard sauce. Ordered a doggy bag for hubby and he wanted to try the grilled shrimp and strawberry salad. He told me it was pretty good. Over the years, my extended family members and I have eaten here on several different occasions. Things have changed. Recently, a party of ten of us had reservations for a holiday dinner gathering during a late weekend afternoon. The service was a bit spotty, with drink glasses remaining unfilled for long periods of time. All told though, the Double Diamond alcoholic drinks that arrived with panache from the bar were delicious, according to my fellow diners. I opted for water as my holiday beverage, as this restaurant (despite national trends) refuses to carry any form of nonalcoholic beer. In totality, we ended up spending several hundred dollars here for food and drinks. The rub is, that despite repeated assurances from the on-duty manager and the server, my nearly $40 filet mignon was not prepared on the flat top grill, per my request. (At least they removed it from my bill.) Although they offered to remake the steak, I declined, telling them that I wasn't confident in the kitchen staff to follow directions. I'll never again order steak from this place if all they know what to do is burn the fuck out of a good piece of beef. At least my BLT salad was competently prepared, as well as the tempura lobster that went with my charcoal (steak). Due to the bait-and-switch situation that I experienced, I probably won't return again, nor would I recommend spending your hard-earned money here. There many better restaurants. read more

Where do I start? We made reservations for 6:15pm on a weekday and were so glad that we did. Although there was a wait, we were seated right away. We had several items among the table, so I'll list everything out below. Most things were okay but we had a very weird experience with the Red Snapper entree. For that reason, I'm not sure that I'll return. - Cheesesteak Eggrolls: good texture but lacking flavor, had a strong green pepper taste - Lobster Queso: decent flavor but didn't seem like a true Queso, wouldn't purchase again - Red Snapper: Weird! 2 guests ordered it and one was nice, flavorful and easily flaked off. The other was hard as a brick, rubbery and just nasty. They attempted to make it again 2 more times, but it didn't get any better. I love Firebirds. Whenever I go, I always make a reservation even if I decide at the last minute. On this visit, the bathroom was dirty and I got a dirty spoon. First time it's ever happened so not sure if it was a bad visit or the restaurant is declining. My toddler asked to leave once we saw the birth room was dirty. I should have listened to her but I was giving them grace from past experiences. Then I got the dirty spoon and realized I gave them too much grace. read more

First the food at Firebirds is always great. We have never had a meal that was anything but delicious. It was valentines day so they were busy. I understand . We ordered curbside pickup to-go. When I went in to check on our food, after I had been waiting 15 min longer than they said it would be ready, I was told they would bring it out. I waited 15 more minutes went back in and asked if they would go check on my order. One of the young ladys at the front desk acted like I was being difficult and finally went to check. She brought my food up, which was now cold and said it had been ready but they were busy. To start off, it was pretty busy at 4:30pm when we went, but we didn't wait for a table and got sat right away. I got a Lemon Drop to start, and the waitress poured my drink right at my table... so perfectly mixed. My mom got a glass of red wine, and it came out chilled... which red wine isn't supposed to be chilled. But, our waitress brought her out another one and it was much better. For an app we got deviled eggs, and they even had bacon in them! So good! I got the salmon with mushrooms and au gratin potatoes... I literally ate everything, it was delicious. The initial waitress never came to the table and complained, which I'm assuming the hostesses overset her section, but to completely ignore us is unacceptable. They had a new server, someone fresh out of training come to the table. It was clear that he was new. He wasn't comfortable with the menu yet. The drinks were overfilled so they were spilling when he brought them to the table. When the food came out it looked decent enough but there was so much fat on my steak. No seasoning on the vegetables. Once we got the check, the total seemed off to us. This isn't my first rodeo ride with Firebirds, and usually, I have an awesome experience, but this time around, not so much. My husband and I arrived a little before happy hour started and sat at the bar. We had no plans to sit at the bar, but since all the lounge seatings were either it was taken or leftover plates that needed to be removed. After about 15 minutes, we ordered our food and asked the bartender if she didn't mind cleaning one of the tabletops off for us. She did. Since we were now within the happy hour, we ordered an appetizer and cocktail--no biggie since we had already ordered our entree first. Well, after 30 minutes, we only had our cocktails. No appetizers, no entrees. We waited another 10 minutes before inquiring about our food; once we did, the bartender updated us immediately. Still no appetizers - which can be understood because we ordered them after our meal. After nearly 45-50 minutes of waiting, we finally received our food. Although our meal was relatively warm, I was expecting more than ten fries with my Durango burger. My husband's Firehouse chicken pasta was plentiful. I read through the reviews and decided the bad ones seemed like one offs. Glad we came because we had great food and even better service. The good: 3 course menu is a good value. Bread is served warm with butter and is nice and soft inside. Ceasars salad had some kick to it and wasn't boring. Sirloin steak was cooked perfectly, and the bananas foster bread pudding was a delight. The bad: when we first came in, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said now and they said the wait would be over an hour. My companion told me on the way out that Opentable said they had no wait. I opened up Opentable and sure enough got a reservation. Had our table within 10 minutes. I don't know how their system interacts but that's not a good customer experience. Also, and I hate to say this, the food was over seasoned, to the point where the steak and even potatoes were mostly just salty. I hate bland food and I would rather see overseason than under, but it was just a tad too much. Main reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a steak place. More upscale than a longhorns or Texas Roadhouse, but not as formal as a Ruth's Chris. You'll be just as at home in a suit after work or just a button up shirt. The only reason we were seated at that time was because I asked the 'hostess' when we would be seated. She informed me she was seating people as they checked in. Very busy so a bit slow on our refills but he was trying hard. I did the three course meal with the wood smoked chicken and gluten free bread /berry dessert it was good. Pretty amazing meal and great service by Katie. We moved here from a foodie town and didn't expect it to be so much better than our favorite restaurants there. It was quite busy but we were greeted and seated quickly. Katie was lovely - a breath of fresh air in spite of the fact that she was juggling numerous tables. The spinach salad with salmon was delicious - the best I have ever had. The bread was crusty on the outside, soft on the inside and delicious. My husband's steak was wonderful - cooked just as he requested. He also had a delicious Caesar salad. Everything was so good. Katie was lively and quite a lovely young woman. As good as the food was, I think Katie topped it off as one of the best times we have had out for as long as I can remember. We will definitely put Firebirds on our regular rotation. read more

This WAS my favorite spot when in town visiting family. Today, July 22, 2023, it was a huge disappointment. Had I not been tired and hungry after a long road trip, I probably would not have eaten here! First, it was disappointing with trash all on the floor. I noticed a waiter sweeping up, bit he just pushed the pile in a corner and left it on the floor! The menus were filthy (see pic) so I had to wash my hands after ordering. The service wasn't so great either. Our food came before we were even given silverware! I had to ask another waiter to bring us some so our food wouldn't get cold. My husband and daughter had the red snapper. They said it tasted like ocean, which is an indication that is is not the freshest.
