Came here New Years Eve for dinner. Didn't realize there was a specific holiday menu we had to select from. It's wasn't a big deal to us, but if you're specific about your food or vegetarian, I wouldn't go on a holiday. The food was good! We enjoyed all of it. The service was ok. It took a long time between courses but maybe it was just the holiday, not sure. But overall, the food was yummy so we'd come back.

I decided to go here for my birthday dinner. It's located in Harbor Town in a beautiful space. Walking up especially at night, you will enjoy the scenery. You can see the Memphis bridge and may even be lucky enough to see a light show! So when we went in, we were immediately seated and given water and our menus. We also received complimentary bread that they said is homemade. The taste is slightly bland, but the strawberry butter helps with that. We then moved on to appetizers. Meet have them salad and crab cakes. The wedge salad was good. The crab cakes were too, they were just extremely small for the price for that reason I wouldn't order them again. It's was finally time for our entrees. My husband had the half chicken and I had the shrimp and grits. The chicken was ok and not really flavorful. The sauce didn't add much to it either, but at least we did get a good portion. I will say the shrimp and grits were really good. I enjoyed every single bite. Oh and I ordered a drink. It was a bit watered down. Overall experience was good! Service was on point and the atmosphere is great as well.

Today was my first ever visit to Paulette's to meet a longtime friend who was in town for Breakfast. She was staying at the River Inn at Harbor Town and the breakfast is free for hotel guests which was a surprise to me, but a perk to stay there lol We sat on the patio with beautiful fall views, sunny weather. Our server was Evan, he was patient and accommodating. Our food came out fast, fresh, and hot. I had the All American Breakfast with crispy bacon, stone ground grits and a croissant, we ordered fruit for the table. My friend said I must come back for dinner that the food is top notch. Evan said he would take care of me on my next visit, I'm looking forward to it!

I'm all in on this one. We had a private room for a party of 10. It was quiet, cozy, warm and comfortable. Paulette's was wearing her classic, delicate Christmas decor. Our server was incredible. His service was precise without being intrusive. Every plate was dressed with down home southern style. Flavor and quality was on point for each dish. The night could not have ended better enjoying their Kahlua-Mocha Parfait Pie! Winner.

Everything was above and beyond! We went in for the retro menu and were not disappointed. We had everything off the special menu and both of us wished we had time to come back this week. Casey was fantastic with helping us pick our bottle of wine which paired well with both our meals and made sure we were taken care of. Tres magnifique

The service was great but the food didn't send me over the moon. The restaurant is in a nice neighborhood and the aesthetics are prestine but I would have liked more variety in the food choices.

Paulette's is a restaurant on the ground floor of a small boutique hotel. Window seating overs a sliver of a view of the river beyond the street and parking area. The decor is generic lacking a Southern charm, but bless their hearts, they tried. What they do well here are mixed drinks. Their top shelf margaritas alone deserve a 4.5-5 star rating. The Kahlua coffee with whipped cream was a nice finish. The wine list is weak - skip it. The deviled eggs were not overly Smokey, the best part was the slice of pepper on top. The cheese plate was mediocre. They needed a good blue and the Brie was not ripe. Skip the crab cakes - nothing to see here. Paulette's Filet had potential, but fell flat with the sauce. It lacked depth of flavor. The pepper-encrusted filet itself was tender and good. Don't get this if you do not care for red bell peppers as the flavor of the bell pepper overwhelms the flavor of the meat and without a heavy cream sauce to balance it, it makes for a steak that tastes like bell pepper. The Chocolate Decadence was wonderful. Ask for a scoop of the coffee ice cream with it. Their "k-Pie" is basically a tall thick wedge of coffee ice cream with a coconut crust and a shot of Kahlua.

We stayed at the Inn and then had a wonderful complimentary breakfast. The vegetable omelette was superb. Grits kept with the southern style!! Service was efficient , kind.... Just what you want when you're traveling. Ambiance........ Looking out to the river, need I say more.

Im giving 2 stars instead of 1 because we were 20 mins late for our Saturday reservation at 11:45 and they allowed us to stay. However no one greeted us at the door and the places was not busy at all. There were only 2 people working that I could see, so maybe one was waiting tables and the other was cooking/ bartending. After 10 minutes of being ignored we were seated. Then waited another 5-10 mins before we could place our drink order. Then another 25 min plus before we placed our food order. We were told the only menu available was the Brunch menu. Not lunch nor breakfast. Smh. its lunch time...... Anyway after an hour of being there we finally get our food. Presentation was nice but food not. My french toast was raw in the middle. potatoes were either mushy/soggy or not cooked well enough. The sever was probably doing the best she could by herself so she was not to blame. She had several big tables by herself. The atmosphere was nice. We had several alcoholic beverages among 5 ppl, our bill was $180. The folks that had alcohol said their beverages were good. The popovers were the best thing we had and they were just barely warm. Strawberry butter amazing just as I remembered it. The reason I was so disappointed in this place is bc at one time it was the best restaurant in Memphis and over the years I had some pretty good meals there. I chose this place bc we were looking for a wedding dress for my daughter who lives out of town, this was a close knit group of women trying to celebrate a special day. Not sure I will try to go back after this

Unique Girl Dinner concept, why choose one, when you can sample all 3+ in a FLIGHT :D…read more So that's just what this girl did. SOUP FLIGHT $14: Lobster bisque, She Crab (immature Blue female crab incl roe typically though this has no bright orange color) and Gumbo with rice. Portions are about a cup each and with the moreish sweet yeasty soft rolls, can easily fill you so pace and share! Gumbo was overly salty so gave that to my BILaw. ENTREE FLIGHT $16 Quail+$19 Redfish+$28 Elk Tenderloin When customizing your flight as I did the small plate price applies. Quail alone was filling, deboned in middle breast and thigh, as it's sweet spiced Creole stuffed and you get mini legs and wings to gnaw on. Like mini Thanksgiving. Took half home and actually ate on 'Flight' Home lol, it was just as tasty and far better than the pretzels haha! LA Redfish had a nice buttery panfried crusted and moist inside about 4oz with southern cheesy ham risotto topped with crab meuniere/browned butter. Elk Tenderloin medium rare as ordered, again great char, was naturally lean and tender, very tasty. A first for me, I would order over a regular steak tenderloin and only 1/2 fat! Killer deal :) Mac with asparagus spear was a tasty pairing. When server tells you 2-3oz Flight servings, in your mind it seems small but these were generous portions and easily fill you. I would share this after a salad or soup next time ;) Older menus point to the even more exotic ostrich, and Kangaroo loin, wow! But with Boar, Bison, Quail, Flounder, and Elk as current options, you can definitely dance around your less traveled palate. Definitely would return next time in Memphis and hunt down those exotics! Downed the hatch with a VINO Bel Glos FLIGHT Pinot Noir $18 spans the 3 premier cool climate CA AVAs-- Southern (Santa Maria Clark & Telephone) Central (Santa Lucia Balade) and Northern (Russian River Dairyman) liked this best but all deep rubys, cherry plum, some vanilla and spice. Very enjoyable flight. A shot of straight Sazerac Rye $10 and $4 Sweet Tea rounded off the table. Of course the guys went full hog entree, Shrimp & Grits $32 was the weakest of the plates as the shrimp were peeled and boiled? vs a more flavorful char & flavor or a spiced shell-on shrimp. Hubby was disappointed preferring my home made NoLo version. BIL's Veal Scalloppini $30 lemon caper butter and parm orzo, veggies really pleased him. It was more ordinary for my palate. All so stuffed thus passed on dessert but BIL took Key Lime Pie to go $7.50 reporting it was great next day. Server was attentive and friendly. Could use brushing up on menu, I had to look up the She Crab and Wine regions after asking. Waiting for a giant Fresh Pepper grind is a pain when it got busy, eventually brought us small grinder set to us. All the prices are very reasonable for the quality, white tablecloth ambience, elegant dining room with giant chandelier and darker woods while well lit with an upstairs tabled loft (although drab bathrooms could use some sprucing) downtown, AND importantly Valet parking, makes dining here such a breeze. Sidewalk patio for fair weather days too. Take FLIGHT and dine here, it'll make your girls giddy, Imma still flying high on my dining memories.

Outstanding restaurant with educated servers who were helpful but not intrusive--that's a skill!!!…read more Love the concept of this restaurant with flights of food and wine! We had the bone marrow--delicious with an herb crust and the seafood flight appetizer, all excellent but the bbq shrimp was intoxicating! Exactly what bbq shrimp should be with a rich sauce, maybe with cognac added? Not sure, but I'm going on a treasure hunt for a recipe! The bubbles flight was fun--great start! Salad flight was a crisp palate refresher for the next two flights of red meat and fish! We loved the lobster ravioli and the Boursin filet, but the lobster Benedict will be in our dreams! The dessert flight was good with the crème Brûlée--avoid the peach cobbler since peaches are not yet in season! The lighting is perfect! Love how I could see the menu and my husband and still feel romantic! This restaurant would be competitive in NYC, so certainly a jewel in Memphis!

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.

They're going for a fun, community vibe... it was just missing people I guess. The pillows were garbage and that's so common at hotels these days. I stay in a lot of hotels and waking up with a sore neck isn't the best. It either means crappy pillows or a fun night! In this case, it was the pillows. There are a number of places nearby and I had some killer chicken wings at the Coop something or other and great coffee as well. The area in which this hotel located isn't the best, but there was a police presence as I walked around myself on a Sunday night. The staff was friendly, I felt safe inside, and it was easy for rideshare to pickup and drop-off. Just due to the workspace issues alone, I probably wouldn't stay here again.
