Darius was very knowledgeable and didn't do that car salesman pressure thing I hate... Darius is the GOAT salesperson... alongside Darius was Barbara the GOAT finance person. Idk how she got me approved for financing, but she worked that magic that I heard people talking about! Then my niece came and test drove a car with Darius and now She has a VW too! They are horrible! I brought my car in for a repair that another shop ultimately messed up doing which was replacing a coil, while replacing it they broke my coil ignition plug. My car was throwing all these random misfiring codes. So I had Volkswagen, diagnose my car. For them to MIS - DIAGNOSE my car! They said I need 4 new fuel injectors, $1,500 for parts & almost "$2,000 for labor". They deemed my car UNSAFE to drive; not stating that they swapped around my coils during the 2 hours diagnosis period. I still took my car, parked it until I was able to safely drive & brought my vehicle to a my father which of whom owns a shop & scanner. He scanned the car, swapped all new spark plugs, all new coils (2 of which were broken! Coil 1 & Coil 3), Volkswagen knows because they changed the only 1 new coil (Coil 2) with (Coil 4), we did a fuel system cleaner (which ED stated that wouldn't help my car), I do my oil changes like I should & have them documented. They cleared the codes on my car & it went from Limp mode to running beautifully. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE ESPECIALLY ED, he's who answers for service almost 75% of the time. I disclosed to them when I was paying & picking my car up that they are only doing this to me because I am a minority woman! I left out paying $600 for a coil ignition plug & TERRIBLE DIAGNOSIS! If I was a man I highly doubt they would have quoted them $3500 for a job that would have NEVER fixed my car. A $300 job with parts & labor was the correct diagnosis. I personally recorded & left a voicemail for the Store Manager LAST WEEK ON September 8, 2025 @ 9:23AM! He still has yet to contact me back after almost a week!! How professional??? I guess they only service best the people of their own kind & people like myself, minorities are being ripped off and robbed by these people only a town away from diversity. This is the ultimate STEALER SHIP. I will be filing a DMV Compliance Complaint for being robbed. If only other customers reported their interactions with this Stealership!! Stay Away from these people! Their warranties are horrible and they will rape your pockets! Bring your car to a smaller CERTIFIED mechanic if you need & want dignified service. I will post receipts if need be! Again they Misdiagnosed my car to try to get me to pay $3500 for a repair that would have NOT fixed my car & Volkswagen knew that!!! I had to go in & pick my car up! They would not call me when to come pick it up! And when I paid in full, they were upset!!! I was scrutinized by the worker Ed & the guy that sits in the office behind Ed AT the service desk! Avoid! Purchased a new 2021 ID.4 ProS from Curran VW when it rolled off the assembly line. At 52k miles, it died in a parking lot. It was towed to Curran VW where it sat for 3 weeks (with no loaner made available) before it was even diagnosed. I was happy to hear that whatever electrical issues it was experiencing would be covered under warranty (as I would expect), but another week later, the service manager tells me that because of the "sequence of repairs" the front drive motor--a major component--would have to be replaced at a cost to me of at least $6,900. I don't understand the logic and have to believe I am being victimized. Avoid VWs in general and this dealer specifically. read more

Since purchasing this vehicle in April 2025 at Curran Volkswagens in Stratford, CT, I had to return it for a check engine light notification in May 2025. They kept my car for about 20-30 days. The check engine light came on again in July 2025 and I scheduled with the dealership to look at it. They stated they wouldn't have a loaner available until mid August. I rescheduled for the car to be looked at for Mid August. When I arrived to drop the car off they again didn't have a loaner until mid September. I informed them this is an inconvenience and I have been having problems with the car since I got it. They informed me that my mode of transportation is not there responsibility and that its a used car and liable to have issues. I told them I would like the car diagnosed. They then informed me that I would be responsible for a $349 fee and wanted me to sign a document stating I'm responsible for this payment. I told them I'm not agreeing to pay anything with this car because I have only had it going on 4 months. 30 days out of the 60 day warranty they had it and now the extended warranty should kick in. They told me the issue could be a mouse chewing on a wire switch they wouldn't be responsible for and I would need to pay the $350 fee before they would release my car. I told them I had it prematurely checked at Auto Zone and it was an oil code nothing to do with electrical. They told me this conversation was over if I didn't agree to pay the $350. Took a week to get an appointment. Needed a new regulator for a car window. They wanted $912 for the part alone. Paid them. Took 3 weeks before I got angry enough to go back. Had called every other day to see if part was in. Fella called Sean said it wasn't in each time. I go into the dealership and ask for my money back. My part has been there for over a week. No one knows what happened. No one has an explanation. No one is sorry. I get my refund and leave. Repair is done by MK Ultra down the street, part included, for less than the part at Curran in 3 days. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. read more

I scheduled an appointment at this dealership after receiving a recall letter about the backup camera on my 2024 Golf GTI. As a result of the backup camera malfunctioning a short time after purchase, I hit another car in my driveway resulting in damage to the rear driver's side trunk. I contacted VW customer service immediately to put in a claim for the car to be fixed as a result of the defective backup camera. I spoke with a manager at the dealership to schedule the service appointment-I made it very clear, as did VW customer service (or so they claim), that the issue with the recall needed to be diagnosed, the damage to the car assessed, and a repair either made and/or scheduled. I brought my car in last Tuesday and apparently the service department simply updated the software and did not look at the damage or diagnose the issue. When I inquired about it when leaving, the service person did not know anything and told me to call customer service. Clearly this was a major miscommunication and error on the dealership's part. VW Corporate called me today and said my claim was now denied because the damage and/or backup camera was not diagnosed during this service call and, therefore, could not be "proven" despite the fact that I've documented my issues with what is essentially a brand new car. This is TOTALLY unacceptable and I will not be held responsible for this error. The dealership has a reputation for excellence and I am shocked at this level of incompetence. I brought in my VW Atlas for an oil change, and to replace my rear windshield wiper. Could've done it closer to home, but I figured, let me go to a VW service center for the best service. Made an appointment online to service my car and wait while they worked on it...when I got there in the morning, the sales person nonchalantly said..."Nope, not going to happen. You have to leave it and come back for it, it's going to be done at the end of the day." (thanks champ.) I weighed my options, and decided to just hop in an Uber to get home (extra $$$ right there that could've been avoided.) Picked it up next morning, paid, and drove home. Nothing bad there...except when it was raining a couple of days later, and i heard the screeching sound of plastic on glass. Wow...they didn't replace the rear windshield wiper even though I paid for it. Shame on me I guess for not checking, but I didn't think in my right mind i'd have to check on something like that. After owning a Honda, Audis, and an Acura...this VW experience was BY FAR the worst customer service experience I've had in automotive repair. Do yourself a favor, go to a reputable, local shop, and avoid these guys. read more

From our sales person Nick, through the business closer, we were treated with respect and no hard sell on anything. Nice test drive (alone, thank you very much, one of the BEST things about Covid!). The price out of the box was good enough, that I did not even bother to try and negotiate anymore. Looks online and the price seemed more than fair. Got a quote from another dealer which was 700 more. So good enough for me! Nick is a car guy, and passionate about the brand. Makes for a better experience. I took my 2014 Passat to the service dept. because the car was misfiring. I was told I need fuel injectors changed. A agreed to pay $2,700 to have this done and after the work was done they unscrewed the oil plug so they can change the oil but the oil plug would not screw back in to the oil pan. I was told that the part inside the oil pan is welded to the pan and it came unwelded. They could not weld it back because they did not have welding equipment. They asked for $700.00 to replace the oil pan. The car did not go in for an oil leak. The plug worked fine when I dropped it off. There was no damage to the oil pan when I dropped it off. The only way the internal part became unwelded is if too much torque was applied. I asked if maybe the technician applied too much torque when he installed the plug back. I was told that thier technicians never do that. I was told that this rarely happens. There is no way to know how this happened but the liablitity is on the last person who touched it. They would not work with me on the price even after I asked for some type of discount as there is no way to prove that they did not damage the plug. The customer service is terrible. I had several issues going on with my 2012 turbo beetle when I made my appointment for service. The car was having drivability problems, low power, hesitation and at times even stalling and refusing to start. The check engine light lit and codes showed a p2015 fault. Sarah in service set up the appointment, provided a loaner car, and kept me well informed of everything that was going on with my car. The car ended up stalling at the dealership and needed the intake manifold replaced as well as the engine fuel pump. While replacing the intake manifold a decarb service was performed, and I had spark plugs replaced, coils and a new serpentine belt installed. While I can't say that all of this work was inexpensive the car is running good as new and I felt I was charged a very fair price. I will definitely be back for service on my vehicles. read more

Literally go anywhere else but here. I am leasing a car, was lied to be the salesman about the terms and confronted with the truth when I went to sign the papers. Now 2 years later, I cannot get a service appointment they requested saying I had free break pad replacement. The service guy told me to wait until 20k miles and come back at that time. I have Been calling and leaving message after message for FIVE WEEKS without a call back only to be told today that I am past the deadline for the break pad replacement. I am furious, disgusted. This place is terrible go anywhere else but here. Worst customer service ever. Even leaving messages with managers and family members of the owner go unanswered. I can't wait to get out of this lease and never return you would think they would try harder to retain and possible future customer. read more

These people were flat out rude. Spoke with someone named Chris on the phone, who told us to come in because they had a Tiguan, manual pre-owned. Upon arriving, "Chris" wouldn't identify himself and gave us a run around but insisted that Tiguan's were made only in 2009 manual (mind you we just test drove a 2013, manual Tiguan elsewhere). We left because they were extremely rude and short with their responses. As we walked out to return to our car, "Chris" basically felt he needed to prove his point and yelled at us saying, "I just confirmed it, Tiguan's aren't made manual after 2009." If you simply google Volkswagen Tiguan Manual Transmission, they were made from 2009 onwards, and these people are clearly uninformed about their products. I purchased a Jetta TDI from here back in the spring plus an extended warranty. I kept having unpleasant issues arise during and after the purchase process. When I had an issue that was not being addressed I would end-up having to go to Jim, Chris or Sean Curran to rectify the ongoing issues. It wasn't the Currans' who created the issues, it was several of their employees. If you read some of the other reviews posted, said reviews mention one of the employees I had an issue with. Why then do they keep this individual employed there ? I don't know. The several employees I had issues with are only damaging their business. Curran Volkswagon could be a great dealership if the Curran family ran it themselves. I mean almost entirely. Not to say there are not good employees there but it was my experience that they appear to allow a few of their employees to run wild. Why should a customer continually have to seek out a principal of a business in order to rectify an issue ? So would I purchase another car from Curran ? Yes, I would BUT ONLY if a Curran family member worked with me from beginning to end. The Curran's are very nice people. I wish them well and hope they can one day recognize and resolve their staffing issues. read more

Well I'm here to change my review! From 5 stars to 1 and here why. I purchased my Allroad from here and while at first everything was great. A week and a half later and 433 miles my oil min light came on. I contacted the dealer and explained what happened. They promptly scheduled me for a service appointment to do a part 1 oil consumption. So I take my ferry ride there and back no problem. Less than a week later the light came back on and my service appointment wasn't for a few more days and didn't want to risk damaging the engine so I parked it and took Uber to and from work until it was time for my appointment. I had the car towed from my house to the ferry terminal get on a ferry and drive to the dealer as it's 5 minutes away. They do part 2 of the consumption test and it's deemed that the car needs the engine rebuilt due to defective piston rings. Ok great. I speak with the used car manager I'm told that he would buy the car back from me for 16k which is about 8000 less than what I paid for it. What kind of bull s is that? Or they will repair the car at employee cost which seems fair except that cost has to come out of my pocket. This isn't a 500.00 repair this will cost thousands! These people don't care about you, your car or your money. Steer clear of this place. No morals whatsoever. They sold me a car that has serious issues and try to scree me out of a bunch of money buying it back. The proper way would be to refund me every cent or pay for the repair plain and simple. Don't risk your financial well being buying a car from here. I thought I finally found a dealer I could trust with my business and my money turns out they are all the same. Customer satisfaction is horrific. Instead of fixing the issue properly and keeping a customer they've made an enemy. It's easy lose the money now to make the money on repeat business. This won't be the last place my opinion about Curran vw gets noticed. read more

I was basically told my car was in need of more repair than it was worth (north of 6k) for a check engine light diagnosis. I made what I thought was an appointment for 9am but my car was there until roughly 4pm, I don't think my car was looked at until like 12:30pm at the earliest. So my day was wasted getting ubers back and fro and I took the day off from work to sort this out. I left this place with more questions than answers honestly. Fast forward a week and a half later, I got my check engine light issue resolved for $170... there were "shot" spark plugs. So if you have an issue with your VW, I would highly suggest going elsewhere and save yourself the worry and money. It cost me more money for this diagnosis than the actual solution to my problem read more

It is unusual for me to have to even bring my beloved 2011 GTI for repairs, as Curran (and Dan in particular) has been taking care of regular service appointments for it since day one. Always knowledgeable and helpful, and I leave feeling confident my car and my business is a priority here. I am writing this review because of the sincerely positive experience I had when dealing with a repair involving a faulty part that resulted in damage to my engine. The service team and Will worked very hard to make sure the car was repaired and restored - they were always responsive and I think they did a lot of work behind the scenes to get this repair done. Andy, the service manager is a star and provided excellent customer service. Overall, repair done by a team I trust, and at a price I think was transparent and reasonable. A+++ read more

A couple things very, very wrong with this place. Where to begin? I had to get my brand new 2015 GTI recalled by VW due to the front stabilizer links and the fuel lines. No problem. I'll call my local Volkswagon dealer and schedule the recall. I called them and made an appointment for a drop off seven days from my phone call. Was told the parts would be in in two days and that they would give me a call when they came in to confirm. Great! Two days go by, three....four....five....it's now time to drop the car off for my FACTORY RECALL. I call to confirm WITH THEM they have the part and get "oh we forgot to order the part, can we reschedule for the week after?"....Frustrated, but knowing it's a voluntary recall, I say "sure". Was told I'd get a call in "two to three days to let you know the part is in. We will also call you the day before to remind of your appointment". Perfect! Two days go by....three....four....five......six....It's now the day before the appointment. No phone call, no reminder of the appointment, no confirmation of parts. The day of my drop off has arrived! But wait, no phone call, no record that I made an appointment, no call to ask why my car wasn't dropped off in the morning as schedule. NOTHING! I called Stamford, CT Volkswagon. "No problem! Let's get those parts ordered for you right away. Hang on please"......"OK sir, I'm back and I have an order number for you so you have the confirmation. They will be here in 1-2 days."....Great! I made the appointment with them for the day after the parts came in. Received a phone call from them saying the parts were in and we're looking forward to seeing you in the morning. THIS is how customer service is to be done. Car is now fixed. What took two and a half weeks at Curran (and still not complete) was done in Stamford in 3 days. You have a lot to learn Curran VW, a lot to learn. I will not be back to this place anymore.....It's funny too, I had heard a lot of negatives before giving them a call. I know why now. read more

I needed a car by January and one of the models I was considering was the base 2012 VW Beetle with manual transmission. None had been shipped to CT yet, but Jim (Curran VP) said he would make it happen, if I was interested. VW had a great lease offer, so I decided to go for it and scheduled a test drive of an automatic model they had. I was on a tight schedule when I visited the dealership for the test drive and to place my deposit, but Jim's nephew Chris had me in and out in under 45 minutes. Chris handled me from then on, though Jim was also available by email. As promised, my car arrived before January. On pick-up day Chris showed me around my new car and Jesse took me through the paperwork, which involved signing just a few forms. After having seen dealerships break agreements with my parents at the last minute when I was growing up, I was prepared for the worst and ready to walk away. To my surprise, there were no hidden fees or last minute charges. The terms of the lease were exactly what I had agreed upon with Jim and I was able to drive off in my beautiful new car. Chris has been available by email since. So far my lease experience has been great. All I had to do was purchase insurance prior to picking up my car and VW takes care of the rest. A GAP waiver, scheduled maintenance, 24-hour roadside assistance and a bumper-to-bumper warrantee are included for the full term of the lease. VW even saves me from dealing with local bureaucracy by adding my property tax bill to my lease bill. read more

found a great deal on a car. which I'm thankful for. but they are NOT friendly. When I went to test, drive, the car the minute I was finished with the test drive. He asked me if I wanted to go inside and start paperwork didn't even let me play with the buttons to ensure everything worked. Rushed me very much so and seemed like he did not want to spend any time going over the vehicle with me. He actually rolled his eyes at me when I said that there was paint on the front end that needed to be repaired. I walked in yesterday to finish paying for my vehicle and sign the paperwork and not a single salesperson said hello to me. they were too busy standing around talking to each other. the sales manager told me they would do a wet sand treatment on the vehicle and buff all scratches and do the one spot that needed touch up paint. Mind you they had 2.5 weeks to do this. When I arrived they weren't even done detailing the car and did not do the touch up paint. I discovered myself walking around the car that it wasn't completed. They then half assed it and not once was I offered an apology for it not being completed. Less then impressed. read more

Yesterday I went to pick up two Sideview mirrors that I ordered for my Passat the parts person was pleasant and efficient however when I asked the service department for someone to help me put my right mirror on due to it being dangerous for me to drive on the highway without it they said they didn't have anybody available and then I'd have to make a service appointment are you freaking kidding me I just spent $184 on two mirrors and no one would help a 64-year-old woman put a new mirror on I exited the building and figured it out myself had it done in less than three minutes well inside I watched the service advisor and one of the techs still standing in the lobby are you kidding me this is not above and beyond customer service this is lazy this is unacceptable this is the reason why people don't do business with companies like this I've had my bad experiences with them in the past and next time I will remember they're not the only game in town for car parts for vw. The last 3 visits to Curran have been a pleasure, the service team is friendly, caring and did the right thing, 3 times. Whether we dealt with Will or Amanda, we felt we were treated very fairly. No bad taste when we got the bill, knowing that VW took eligible fixes under warranty without questioning. When I had inquired online I got email responses from Jim Curran one of the owners, kinda made me feel more at ease about buying a car which can be daunting for a woman.
