Messing around while waiting for food

Came again for ayce crabs because our normal place won't have them again until summer. The crabs were better this toke than last, wondering they changed cooks because they were cooked perfectly meat slid right out but not over cooked. The butter seemed better this time too. I wish I could say the same about the service. There was one girl with like 4 tables possibly 5 all close together all having crabs so not a whole lot to do. Beer and crabs. She is just very slow. After we ordered drinks she came back 5 minutes later to say she didn't have something which is fine but why so long. Crabs came out steaming which I love with a side of fries. We also got wings because my boyfriend loves the honey bbq. Anyway everything good this time besides slow service this girl just moves so slow if you watch her. She's a nice girl doesn't seem like much personality in there but still.

Currans Irish Inn is a prime example of what a tavern should be like. It has a bar, a separate dining area and also an upstairs and outside area. The place is huge you can go with friends and not see them all night. The atmosphere is festive. The food here is excellent. The wings are phenomenal. I've had every variety of wings that they serve and they are all very tasty and cooked perfectly. My favorite by far being the Classic Hot Wing. The other food served here is also excellent. The prices are very reasonable. I've had most everything on the menu and I have never been disappointed. The patrons that frequent the place are friendly. I have never seen any problems here. The staff is professional and courteous. The bartenders are knowledgeable in the art of mixology, my favorite mixologist being Colleen. The servers are quick and productive. I cant stress enough what a good time this place is. Go ahead and check it out for yourself.

Stopped in for lunch because we heard the wings were phenomenal and were passing by on our way home. We got the french onion soup and 20 wings (10 mild and 10 garlic parm). The french onion soup was delicious. The onions were cooked down enough to where they melted in your mouth and the broth was well seasoned. Just my opinion, but it doesnt need the shake cheese and parsley on top as the soup can stand on its own. The wings were pretty average to be honest. They were cooked well with a nice crispy texture, but the sauces weren't that great. There wasn't much mild sauce and what was there was really salty. The garlic parm wings had a heavy lemon flavor that caused an unpleasant sourness which overpowered the garlic and parmesan. The tavern itself is a nice space but could definately use a cleaning. Also there were no shortage of flies buzzing around the dining room which was kind of off putting. I'd probably come back to the bar as their beer list is pretty extensive and maybe an appetizer to have with my drink but probably wouldn't return for a sit down meal. 2 stars for the awesome playlist they had going and the french onion soup.

Best Wings in Philadelphia! Every time I go there always busy, staff is great! Order the wings well done and spicy sauce has a great taste and that perfect kick! Plenty of TVs for the games!

The cook made these wings with extra love tonight!

The wings were amazing the service could be a little better but the experience was in bed especially with the Sixers game on in the background and multiple TVs to watch the Sixers game and other sporting events

This place is slammin' Got the crab stuffed mushrooms n mix wings. Great job on the bullshit workaround.

Neighborhood joint I've been to quite a few times. People swear by their wings, they are pretty good. Last night was the first night with outside dining since coronavirus held us hostage these past few months. Place was a bit crowded but the service was good. Me and my lady got a few beers and Cajun wings and mozzarella sticks. Both were good, beers were great! 8.1/10

After years of visiting Tacony Currans, watching it slowly decline, tonight will probably be our last visit. This is primarily a party bar most busy on weekends and in the summer. It's close proximity to 95 makes it a convenient hang out. Live bands offer entertainment and their outdoor bar makes Currans a hot spot for the younger drinking crowd. Our issues tonight, combined with the issues we tolerated are as follows: Initially, we opted for Currans tonight because the website stated Wednesday nights were wing night. Once at Currans it turns out it is Thursday's. Our waitress did not offer to check with management or send one to the table just laughed it off and said she didn't know. Secondly, after ordering a drink and a beer we asked for some water - she brought out a bottle of water, we said tap was fine; apparently they no longer offer water only bottled and charge a buck a bottle. This is insane when you are ordering water with your meal and alcoholic beverages. Additionally what has been a constant issue of mine personally is the fact that they serve their drinks in plastic cups. This is an incredibly lazy business practice. When sitting at a table eating a meal one should be served beverages in glass wear not clear solo cups. This isn't a backyard BBQ, please, please wash a glass! The interior is being neglected. The windows need a good cleaning and the woodwork that surrounds the tables hasn't been tended to in some time. The bathrooms are in extreme disrepair, rundown and in need of thorough cleaning/sanitizing. The women's room even has broken glass in the stained glass windows. The novelty copper topped tables are becoming unglued and have air pockets that make setting down your drink tricky. The unseasonably warmer weather would have been perfect timing to tend to these issues With bars on every corner and other establishments who value their patrons we will be taking our business elsewhere. Hopefully Currans will tend to these issues and we will be able to return, but until then we will pass on Currans.

Their menu is basic but tasty (see: "eat in wings", "just the way you like it", and of course "beverages").

Its pretty cool on the inside, definitely passes the Irish pub vibe check. One thing that killed it for us right away: it was LOUD. Sure, we're not in our twenties anymore, but we're not super old. It was mid afternoon, before dinner time, and the music was so loud we were going to have to yell across the tiny table to hear each other. After walking around in the heat all day it was just not what we were looking for. We did stay for a drink. He had a decent old fashioned, though pretty tiny for the price. I had a beer, and it was what would be expected. The one thing that really stood out was the server. She was nice, pleasant, and very quick. I'd maybe go back if I was in the right mood, but that day was certainly not the day for me.

Our waitress was very friendly and ended up leaving a pitcher of water once she saw we were parched. The salad bar wasn't huge, but there were some cold dishes along with salad fixings, which is part of the vintage charm. The bread (not complementary) was also a huge round loaf great for sharing. The decor's medieval vibe is very charming and it's nice looking around the room. The kitchen is open to the dining room with big brick ovens. I had the prime rib which was big and juicy (the baked potato was fine but the Yorkshire puff was bland and barely editable soaked in juice - may just be I don't like this food). The steak came with a giant onion ring which was delightful, and it was cooked perfectly tender. This place thrives in your meat and potato staples, so not a lot of side options except what's at the salad bar. For dessert, we had to try the peach melba delight, which was a giant goblet of vanilla ice cream, peaches in juice, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. Deceptively simple but extremely tasty and great to share There's a large bar area and the bathrooms are nice. This place is great for larger groups that include older people. The food is good and the atmosphere did feel like it was from another time, but we had a good time, and it's nice to see a place like this still around.

I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.
