I am a big fan of Indian food. I will tell you I can handle the heat, but when it comes to Indian food.. it's a different type of heat. Curries food is very good and their service is top. Their tablet has photos, so if you need to see what you are ordering.. it's a big plus. Be careful going there due to construction. You might need to do a U-Turn coming from Clearwater and the sign is not that big. Indian food can be underrated... there are the typical dishes, but I advise you to try new things. We have now eaten(take-out) at Curries, 4 times. The food is good, unless it isn't. The most recent pick-up, we enjoyed everything except the Samosa(which we won't be trying again). The dishes that did put smiles on our faces and tasted yummy were the tika masala, korma and the aloo ghobi. Sauces were flavorful and the depth was not only on a much better level than previous experiences at Curries, but tey can compete with some of the better Indian restaurants in the big cities. I just got take out based on rave reviews from a Facebook group. I ordered butter chicken and garlic naan. I pick it up at the time it says it will be ready and it feels cold from outside the bag. Curries offered a very nice variety, of both vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options. The photos on their website are a little misleading which shows more space in the buffet aisles than there really is which can be a little jammed traversing the buffet area. We stopped in on Friday evening for dinner and the place was busy. From the moment we opened the door and were greeted by the most heavenly scent of authentic Indian cuisine to the happy sound of customers talking excitedly about the food, I was excited! Our server was absolutely delightful. We asked a couple of questions, about heat and flavor, and then placed an order for our apps we got the Samosas and the chili pepper pakora. I cant lie, the food was the best we've had outside San Francisco, and we know we will come back ( 3x this week alone) My favorite is their butter chicken. The buffet was worth every bit of thirteen to fifteen dollars. Unfortunately, the charge was nineteen dollars and ninety nine cents. The dining rooms were attractive enough and the servers were pleasant enough. I just don't see a reason to return for a twenty dollar lunch buffet. The restaurant is located where the old Queen Pho/Famous Dave's BBQ used to be on the west side of US19 south of Curlew. The interior has been nicely updated. The restaurant is very nice, culturally decorated in good taste. The service from Mars was perfect! She gave us good suggestions. We had the diff naan breads, the cauliflower and another app. They were all delicious and I'd go back for that! All of our meals were delicious and fun to be able to try them all. Our chicken and veggie meals came with rice and plenty of it. Colorful, warm, interesting food and yummy spices. Enough to bring some back home. It was delicious reheated too. Approved by my friend who loves Indian food and had been there several times. She did mention the meat ratio here is less than in India. My go to order is always a lamb or goat dish and always, always saag paneer. Both were delicious and I am looking forward to eating the leftovers. Also had garlic naan (which I prefer to rice when eating Indian food) and it was yummy with crispy charred edges.) As for all the condiments, they did not push me to purchase these-- I just like to order condiments at an Indian restaurant and then take them home to make bowls, etc. I particularly loved the Indian pickles here. They were sincerely friendly, caring, & helpful. Today's lunch offer was a large buffet. The offerings were plentiful & the food was good. So much variety. Examples included Butter Chicken, Chicken Tandoori, Curried Chicken, Goat Vindaloo, Biryani Rice, Paneer, Chana, Naan, etc. I have never tried goat before, but the Goat Vindaloo won me over. We discovered this little gem by surprise on a Monday. Not many restaurants are open that day. Food was absolutely delicious , served fast, reasonable price. Clean and I love the decoration, very zen atmosphere. Service was very pleasant and are great at giving recommendations, explaining the dishes. We came back twice the same week. More people of course during the weekend and welcoming to family with kids. Not loud as the restaurant is quite spacious .
