    Lunch Special.

The food was very authentic and very delicious. The service was top-notch. The staff is extremely friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is nice. If you're looking for Indian food in the Clearwater area or desire to try Indian food Desi Tadka is the place

I paid almost $50 thinking it was going to feed two people but that's all I got. The food was good but not worth the money.

This is the best Indian restaurant in the Oldsmar area with a few caveats. First of all the food is a highlight - everything I've had was delectable. There is flavor in every bite and the food isn't greasy as some other Indian places around here. I've liked everything I have tried. Some recommendations include the gongura lamb, saag paneer, and lamb korma. Service is generally okay but can be somewhat lacking when the restaurant is busy. Slightly annoying when two entrees, one lassi, and garlic naan costs approximately $50 before tip. Finally, the pick up service is abysmal. If you place an order it is rarely, if ever, ready on time. In fact, you're better off estimating your order won't be ready on time when placing your order to avoid aggravating yourself. Tonight it took me almost an hour to get my order. The kicker was once I got home I realized my order was missing a side. Had to drive all the way back to get it so overall it took probably one and a half hours to get my order. Overall, if you're in the area Desi Tadka is worth a visit. Just avoid busy dining hours and try not to place a pick up order unless you have to.

This restaurant has reliable and on-point Indian fare. But for the price? Not sure it's affordable for regular takeout for me anymore. Butter chicken and chicken tikka masala were both nearly $19 each! Add butter naan, the Gobi Manchurian appetizer and what should have been only one extra order of rice for the kiddo, and we got a $61+ bill! For takeout? I'll be getting Thai next time.

Finally now getting to eat out as a few places are open. Have not had many experiences in Indian food but my daughter wanted to try it and reviews were good. We came after church with my wife, daughter, grand-daughter and I. We arrived a little after their opening at noon. We were the first customers to arrive and were greeted and seated immediately. We ordered Samosas for an appetizer as we perused the menu. They were hot and crisp and delicious! Yum! For entrees we ordered the Chicken Korma, one spicy & one medium; the Lamb Curry medium spicy and the Chicken Saagwalla medium spicy. And Basmati Rice with each, plus Garlic Naan & Butter Naan. Now I am a salt fiend, and no - my blood pressure is great, I salt everything! Although the salt was on the table, I never reached for it. All the items were wonderfully seasoned and all were delicious. There was nothing that any of us did not like. All the dishes were great. The only thing I would change is to up the heat a bit. I usually go easy on spices in a new place until I get a feel for their heat levels. Next time, and there will definitely be next timeS, I will go for max heat.

The hubz and I decided to order Indian Food for carry out as we were driving home from the beach. The last time we ate Indian food was probably when we lived in NY over 6 years ago. I ordered way too much food for only 2 people because I wanted to taste a little bit of everything and so I could fairly compare it to my favorite Indian Restaurants in New York. I ordered "medium spicy" on all of the following appetizers/dishes which cost us roughly $80. - Vegetable Samosa (appetizer) - Saag Paneer - Channa Masala - Chicken Madras - Chicken Tikka Masala Note that all of the entrees are packed in the plastic 16 oz containers (pint size plastic take-out food containers) and each entree comes with the 16oz of basmati rice. Also, 1 order of the Samosa appetizer comes with 2 pieces. I would like to start off by saying that we enjoyed the Vegetable Samosa appz, which were very flavorful. It came with 2 dipping sauces, but tasted great with or without either of the sauces. As far as the entrees were concerned, most of the dishes were very hot spicy. I should have probably ordered a combination of mild and medium spicy to get an idea of what the restaurant considers spicy. But we usually order Medium Spicy Indian and Thai food, which is usually hotter than American Spicy. In any case, Desi Tadka's dishes were overwhelmingly spicy and it was difficult to really taste the flavors through the heat. After a while my taste buds were no longer muted by heat and found that the Saag Paneer lacked flavor. This used to be one of my favorite Indian dishes and found it so flavorful, but in this case it fell short. The Chicken Tikka Masala also tasted a little bland. It's saving grace was that it was drowning in sauce. With that said, I would have liked to have had more chicken in the Chicken Madras and Chicken Tikka Masala containers, as at least half of the containers were sauce. We did enjoy the Channa Masala, which was loaded with chickpeas and full of flavor once the spiciness died down. For now I am giving Desi Tadka 3 stars. We plan on ordering carry-out another time and will make sure to order mild so we can taste the flavors without the overpowering heat. Hopefully, there'll be a good chicken to sauce ratio on our next order. Will post an updated review after our next carry-out order.

Very salty food. I ordered a lamb biryani and was disappointed as the salt level was highly unhealthy.

    Is the lunch buffet back?

We have now Lunch special Thali. Thali has 3 dishes with Rice and Naan

Is the buffet open during pandemic? If so, open weekends, too? Thanks!

The buffet is currently not open during the pandemic. We hope to resume normal buffet hours soon and will notify our customers on our main site. Stay tuned!

Has the restaurant changed ownership? Chef? Buffer not as good as usual.

Not that I'm aware of but, I haven't had the opportunity to go in for about a month so possibly ?‍♀️

What is the buffet price and the buffet hours?

$10.99. 11am-2pm...but don't show up at 1:30 and expect a full selection unless you go on a Friday. They're closed Monday, I believe.

Copper Indian Cuisine in Westchase was an excellent find…read more The restaurant is beautifully decorated -- there's a small bar when you first walk in, but the back dining area is really elegant, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. It immediately feels like a great place to sit down and enjoy a relaxed meal. Service was excellent. Our server, Dominic, was very attentive and gave helpful recommendations throughout the meal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The flavors were bold and well balanced, and the medium spice level was perfect -- flavorful with just the right amount of heat without being overwhelming. I also asked for extra yogurt sauce just in case things got spicy, and that ended up being the perfect cooling addition. What we ordered: * Taj Mahal Premium Lager -- crisp, light, and refreshing. A great pairing with the spices in the meal. * Samosa Chaat -- we were told this is a traditional Indian street food. It consisted of vegetable samosas chopped up and topped with yogurt sauce, chutneys, and special spices, creating a great balance of creamy, tangy, and savory flavors. * Garlic Naan -- warm, soft, and perfectly garlicky. * Tandoori Platter -- a generous assortment of tandoori chicken, lamb chops, and shrimp, cooked in the tandoor with beautiful smoky flavor and spices. The platter was served with basmati rice and sauces on the side, which complemented the meats perfectly. Most of the meal was gluten-free, with the exception of the naan and the samosa chaat appetizer. I do wish they offered gluten-free naan or samosas, which would make an already great menu even more accessible. They also offer weekday and weekend happy hours (I included a photo of the menu for anyone interested). We will definitely be back. This will easily become our go-to Indian restaurant in the area.

We also did chicken 65, and a vegetable curry. The prefix menu could not have the spice level adjusted however I found it tolerable (I have a reasonably high spice tolerance) and the other items we asked for mild and they were perfect. The service was top notch. Extremely friendly and personable staff, we felt welcome from the beginning. We also had the chef come and check on us and the part that stood out to me is that everyone working here was happy and proud of their food. The interior of the restaurant is very nice. I loved the setup and the lighting. It was perfect for a romantic evening and for enjoying food with friends. I will absolutely come back. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Tampa. There were sangria cards scattered across the bar, so that seemed like the obvious drink choice. Service was prompt, and our drinks arrived quickly. For dinner, I ordered the Lamb Shahi Korma. The creamy cashew-butter gravy was delicious, and when the bartender asked how spicy I wanted it, I said, "hot, but not Indian hot." It came with the perfect amount of heat and a great kick of flavor. I also ordered a side of garlic naan, which was outstanding. My husband ordered a chicken dish that arrived a deep pinkish-red color. It was flavorful, though I found it a little dry when I tried a bite. After noticing several people around the bar ordering Taj Mahal beer, I decided to give it a try. It was a good, easy-drinking lager with nice flavor. The bartender was incredibly busy, so another staff member brought it over. The only downside of the evening was that I had finished my water and ended up waiting about 10 minutes with nothing to drink while eating a spicy dish. I also used the restroom, which was very clean and well maintained. On my way there, I walked through the dining room and got a better sense of just how busy the restaurant was. Guests pass by the kitchen window, and I was impressed by how many staff members were working and how efficiently they seemed to handle the crowd. On the opposite wall, you can see where they set up their buffet, which I'd definitely like to come back and try. Overall, despite service slowing down a bit during the rush, the food and drinks were very good. Given how packed the restaurant was, the staff did a commendable job keeping things moving. I would definitely return.
