This was the best meal I have had in Yuma. Excellent food with a nice presentation. Even the drinking glasses had a weird avant garde shape. The manchurian dumplings were super fun (Indian-Chinese appetizer with crisp fried vegetable balls are dunked in slightly sweet, sour and hot manchurian sauce.) The Szechuan potato tempura was also really good. They also had several curries with tofu and we were happy to try one-- Kathurh Kadhai Tofu. It was all well spiced. The service was good and it was nice atmosphere inside. Very vegan friendly (everything we ordered was vegan) Highly recommended when in Yuma! Delicious! Each time I come visit my Yuma I HAVE to make the spot! Even if that means dining alone! The service is great! They provide lots of feedback if you aren't sure what to order. First time at Curries based on a friend's recommendation. I have to say it was a lovely dinning experience. I ordered the mango lassi which was delicious. You can really taste the mango, and It was sweet and thick. I ordered the Kashmiri Rogan Josh Lamb, which is basically stewed lamb chunks with fennel seeds, caramelized onion, and yogurt, flavored with cockscomb flower. I told them the waiter I wanted it medium spiced. It definitely wasn't medium, I could barely taste the spice. Apparently their spicy scale is from 1 to 5, they consider 2 medium spicy. I was told to order at a level 3 if I really want it to be spicy. I think for future orders, it would try level 3/4 to see how I can tolerate it. I overly the lamb and we good, I just don't wish the lamb chunks were a little more tender. I can't wait to try other food items on the menu. read more

Curries is great! The food was really impressive - beginning with the mouth watering samosas . The naan is to die for, and I ended up with the veg coconut curry. I can't wait to go back and try another item! Extra bonus points: there is a long list of vegan and vegetarian options as well! Staff are friendly and attentive, and the had some good bar menu options as well, for cocktails and other fancy drinks. We were headed to Yuma for a weekend with friends so I began the usual restaurant research. Curries Indian kept popping up and my brain kept pushing back "why would Yuma, AZ be the place to have good Indian food? Mexican for sure, but Indian???". Boy was my brain wrong! We needed a late night spot so Curries fit the bill with both good reviews, location to where we were staying and hours of operation. When we pulled up and saw that it was inside a Ramada Inn I immediately was a bit skeptical, we don't usually enjoy hotel food event at the best of hotels. Well again, brain mistaken, service was cordial, prompt, and servers joked and interacted joyfully with us. I am of Indian heritage and disagree with another Indian Yelper who did not find the food authentic. I loved the samosa which had the perfect pastry to filling ratio, texture, and flavor. We also enjoyed the Saag Paneer, Roti, and garlic Naan. Our friends ordered coconut veg curry and a veg Biryani which we all agreed was very good, perfectly spiced for all of our preferences. So let me start by saying you'll have to visit this place to get an idea of what you actually enjoy eating. We ordered a decent variety of their dishes and had mixed feelings ranging from amazing to never ever again. The curry's are the best bet to include the samosas and vegetable what I'm going to call fritters (incorrect name) but are Szechuan style. I do not recommend the mixed grilled plate the chicken was so dried out and bland tasting worse yet it's served like warm. It feels like they're precooked or grilled and place in a warmer before serving. The portions are also mixed the curry serving is very small but is offered with rice which we also did not like the taste. Other dishes we ordered were provided with a large serving so really depends on what you order. The restaurant itself has a weird aesthetics it comes across as an old airline pilot bar or less than modern dive bar. The lighting is rather dark and the seating areas are very small. The staff have little to no social interaction after taking your order you'll never see them again until you're ready to pay. We did have someone come by to refill Our water but never to refill the soft drinks or alcohol drinks. My first experience was really Mixed and I'm not entirely sure that I'll return until I see some Tweaks; however I do recommend a try or two to really figure out if this is the sort of Indian food that you desire. read more

I visited Yuma pretty often for work and have always had a hard time finding an Indian place. Which I find odd given the size of Yuma and all the other types of restaurants there are. Looking at DoorDash Curries came up under "Asian" and nothing came up under "Indian," which is also kinda odd. The odd pile grows! I excitedly put my order in. What a treat! How fun! Yay Indian food brought to my door in Yuma! I have finally arrived! When my meal arrived my vision was filled with their happy bright printed bag.. what treasures did it hold? Paneer Butter Masala: Yum! I wasn't let down! Sometimes this dish can be made far too sweet or without any real flavor. This isn't the best I've had, but it's surprisingly good. Vilayati Kadai Jalfrezi Vegetable: I asked for it to be very spicy and they definitely delivered the kick I was craving. I don't think the extremely hot option would kill me or anyone, but I just want some kick and not a full on brawl in my mouth... Naan: yeah not great. Mine had burn marks but was still underdone. I donot get how that is even possible but it happened. I still ate it though. Rice: good but small portions. I would be pissed if I had paid for an extra portion of rice and receive a very small box of it. Seriously not enough rice for the dish. The other potions were large and on point for the price. So you are good if you are hungry! I can't be an Indian food snob and turn my rather large pointy snout in the air at Americanized Indian food. I like the American version of Indian food! What's wrong with enjoying it? It's not like you can't like Americanized Indian food AND also enjoy the authentic stuff.... sheesh... I am stuffed and certainly feeling sleepy. We were very excited to see Curries open as we gave missed good Indian food while in Arizona. The food was extremely good, super fresh and very tasty. Good amount of spice snd huge selection of dishes. Wait staff was extremely supportive and we didn't wait very long for our food. We are doing Curries again this week, but this time we will pick up takeout snd bring home to our guests as the atmosphere was very lacking snd quite sterile. I tried this restaurant, along with my fiancée, twice and unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with the food. My fiancée is Indian so Indian food is a staple in our diet. On top of that, we've been traveling the country for work and we always like to try the local Indian spots, which is how we ended up here in Yuma. Sadly, Curries completely missed the mark for us. First, I want to note what they did right. Their samosas were absolutely bangin'. They had a nice crispy exterior, flavorful filling and they paired perfectly with the chutneys that came with it. On top of that, my fiancée had their mango lassi and it was wonderful, as well as very beautifully decorated. The naan was also quite good, but they gave us 3 orders of garlic naan instead of 2 garlic and 1 jalapeño, but nbd. Onto the not so great part, the entrées we're unbearably sweet. When our server asked how spicy we wanted our food, we actually asked them to make it as spicy as they could (a lot of Indian restaurants will actually ask my fiancée if I'm able to handle that level of spice) and they immediately said no problem. So when we got our orders, we were surprised that not only was there no spice, it was actually sweet and pretty bland. It didn't matter how good the naan was there was no making up for the entrées. I was at about a 2.5 rating at that point. We thought hey, maybe they're just having an off day. A couple of weeks later, we had a person from Thailand tell us that they loved their food and that they do it really spicy for her. We thought, awesome, a glowing recommendation, let's try them again. We ordered about $100 worth of food, again asking for 5/5 level spice, as hot as they could make it. What we received was somehow worse than the first time. The entrées were even sweeter and blander than the first time and we immediately threw it all out. We were quite disappointed to say the least and the second experience knocked it down to a 1 star. I think it may have to do with their perception of the population they're serving. We noticed in the restaurant that all the other customers were older white folks and I think they're trying to cater to that crowd. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. Everything that we tried other than their entrées were really good, they just couldn't nail down the centerpiece of the meal. read more

We stayed at Ramada hotel and Curries Indian Restaurant was one of our option. I gave a 5 star because of the customer service, the price and good food. I had the best Indian cuisine when I lived in Abu Dhabi for 10 years. And this restaurant didn't fail me. The fact that all servers at this restaurant are Indians made me feel like food should taste authentic. Still good Indian food It's a place that I am proud and happy to invite good friends (and colleagues) to over a lunch or a dinner. Service is punctual and the staff is cordial. You don't have to worry about the flavors because they're on point especially with the curries and the level of spiciness. The servings portion is just right.
