Clean restaurant with fast and friendly service. My favorite pho is charbroiled pork in LA (Pho 87) and this place is pretty close. Good amount of meat, noodles, and veggies in the charbroiled beef pho. Just a bit gristly, but flavorful. The fried egg rolls needed more vegetables like cabbage, as they were a bit thin and chewy. This was our first time here and omg the food was so good! It's about 20min drive and we took our food to go. The food still arrived hot. We ordered an order of egg rolls and two phos bowels. Very disappointing and yet conflicted as most of our food was exceptional. Health code violations cannot be overlooked. All waitstaff must understand certain basics Do NOT serve food to a table then 5 minutes later retrieve it and put it on the correct table. This told us right off the bat that other food handling protocols may not be taken seriously. Spring Rolls were placed on our table at the same time other dishes were arriving one at a time. We were all engaged in conversation. Not realizing the Spring Rolls were not something anyone in our party had ordered we let them sit. As we all began eating our hot entrees the Spring Rolls remained untouched. A server inquired later, removed them and walked to the cash register, answered a to go order customers question, answered a phone call and then took the same plate of Spring Rolls to the correct table. They should have gone directly from our table into the trash. Meatball Pho .... The meatball was inedible hard and rubbery. Beverage glasses should be refilled without interruption. If someone orders standard Iced Tea in the desert when temperatures are over 100 .... Fill the glass! Fill the beverage glasses without interrupting to ask or making a big deal out of it... it's hot out. Fill the glass. Everything else was fresh and tasty and filling. We really wanted to like Saigon Pho. Therefore I am very dismayed. Four meals, four beverages $77.00 The inside of the restaurant was tired. Multiple spaces with different flooring. A little effort could return this place to a tidy place to dine which could make the price paid an easier pill to swallow. Exterior signage is faded and weary. Interior cashier area is a hot mess! The restroom had no cold water. Handwashing for one with delicate skin was painful. This needs to be addressed. Customers should be able to set water temps to suit. Gotta be honest, we weren't too impressed by this pho joint. Maybe it was our higher expectations, after eating at Yuma Pho. But to our misfortune- Yuma Pho was closed that day... so we decided to give Saigon Pho a shot, and it just didn't quite hit the mark. 1) No greens are provided to wrap the crispy egg rolls in. The greens kinda bring the whole thing together. 2) The bowls of pho are small. Much smaller than the average regular size portion. 3) The broth was lacking in flavor. Aside from that- I get we all like to make time pass at work by joking around; we've all been there before. But it was getting a little too wild in the kitchen. Some spots- I don't mind if the staff is talking loud and cussing over the music (like in a bar setting), but in a restaurant- there's usually kids around. We've all been there: you're at work, joking loudly in the back, maybe lose track of your own volume. (I'm definitely guilty of that.) But it comes off as obnoxious and inappropriate. The servers that took our orders and brought the food out were nice. The restaurant seemed clean. They also have a "robot" that will deliver food. Yuma is about halfway to Phoenix from San Diego and a great rest stop. Who would have known there's a random Viet restaurant out here that is so good! Very rare that you get good Asian food in the middle of no where. Egg rolls - Fresh not frozen. Made to order and deep fried to perfection. Every bite had crispy flaky crumbs. Pho tai - The broth was clear, fatty, flavorful aroma of pho through out. Rice, pork, egg loaf, shredded pork - This came with a side cup of broth. The egg loaf was a bit on the salty side but it was moist not dry, indicating that it's not days old. The pork was thin, juicy and flavorful. Chow fun - Loved this thick wide noodles. Not exactly the Chinese pan fried version but stir fried with lots of sauce. The wet version. Curry beef - It's neither Thai or Viet curry but Indian. Could taste the Indian spices such as garam masala. It's curry over rice with tender beef and gave off a huge spicy kick. A side of broth was given to the three dry dishes. This broth was different from the pho broth. I liked it better. You could taste the strong bone flavor. My Thai tea was also really good. Not so sweet. Service was exception. The owner knew we were out of town and chatted with us and explained how his dishes were different than traditional Vietnamese dishes. He also catered to our special requests. I did try their pork vermicelli dish but that was not as good...pork was too tough and not tender. I also didn't like their Thai Tea. We love a good Pho soup and the Saigon delivered just that. Shared an order of beef broth with beef and side of extra veggies and pork spring rolls. The beef flavored pho was very tasty, nice blend of vegetables and the usual toppings. I liked that the meat was cooked separate and you add to soup. The only disappointment would be no wontons in their soup or on menu. The great broth flavor made up for this. We shared an order of pork spring rolls and They tasted very fresh. The service was fast and friendly and food was hot. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall along one of the main roads near airport. The decor is pretty basic and clean. Found this location just West of the Big curve near the car dealerships on 32nd St. It is on end of a strip mall and easily accessible from 32nd or the cross road beside it. They are in the process of remodeling/flooring project, but were able to accommodate diners without problem. The new flooring is bright and cheerful. They have tables for two and for families/ groups. They had several people come for take out/to go orders during our visit. The staff was attentive and friendly without being obtrusive. No dirty tables or dishes observed at the time of our visit. We had fried spring rolls which were great. Also ordered the rare steak pho. The steak cooks in the heat of the delicious broth. The fresh Thai basil, bean sprouts, cilantro and jalapeño pepper in addition to the house made chili sauce make it a delicious unique dish! It's so filling and delicious! We will return! read more

Stingy with portions. This place is a sad definition of Vietnamese food. You would think you would get more protein for ordering the shrimp, pork and egg roll vermicelli, but they only give you less than 1 gram of pork, so little that it wouldn't even register on a scale, 2 tiny shrimp, and one cut up refried egg roll with a bed of old lettuce. So first time here. Service was fast and courteous and we even had the owner come out to greet us and to ask how we were doing. Now to be fair, we have tasted very good Vietnamese food in San Diego as we have eaten at many good restaurants. Comparing this to San Diego Vietnamese food was average. The pho we ordered had very little meat and was lacking the vegetables that the San Diego restaurants typically give u. We also ordered the spring rolls that were tasty but not as good as San Diego Vietnamese. We should have ordered the extra vegetables for the pho and it would have made the difference. Just one last thing...when we came into the Restaurant it was not busy, only 2 customers eating. In trying to decide where to sit, we noticed quite a few dirty tables, that was a turn-off. Other than that, we will probably come back here when we hunger for pho again as there is only one other Vietnamese restaurant that we know of in Yuma. read more

Since this store opened I've heard nice word-of-mouth about them; also the previous store had raised the bar on Mediterranean food. So maybe it's "location, location, location?" There was only way to find out. Once inside my family of 5 knew we were in for a special treat. The dining area was a complete 360' from the previous owners; like the difference between apples and oranges. As in a matching motif of comfortable seating arrangements with a contemporary look. We were greeted and seated and treated to a menu full of delicious choices. We ordered appetizers and the main dishes. My wife said the pho reminded her of when we lived in Japan. I will admit it was very good, and worthy of the rave reviews. The staff was friendly and helpful as well. After we packed up our leftovers I knew we'd be back for a return visit. I'm not saying this is the only place to eat pho in Yuma but they have in my opinion the best out here. It's worth seeking out, even if Yuma is just a pit stop enroute to somewhere else. I got the - Steamed Chicken Pho - and shared the - Spring Rolls w/ just Pork - with my friends. The pho had a great amount of flavor on its own. Tasted like it had a good amount of ginger and other spices. Our servers were very kind and attentive as soon as we walked in. I even saw them resolve an issue with a customer sitting behind us (who was a bit rude if I do say so myself) with a very polite attitude. Pretty good! With all fairness to the only Vietnamese restaurant here, I must draw some comparisons to similar venues I've been to in the Phoenix area and (incoming snobbery) California. It was 117 degrees today, so pho was not in our sights. The vermicelli noodles, however, were. I ordered mine with charbroiled chicken. The fiancée got a fancy boat with shrimp, pork, and a diced egg roll. Why? Why not? She also got a Thai iced tea which was hyper-sugary by her account. The food came out fast. While the charbroiled chicken was tasty, there was just not enough of it. Now (incoming snobbery again), as an amateur bodybuilder (oof, I cringed), it is my sacred prerogative to obtain as many proteins as I can carry. Behold the attached photo; it just wasn't enough chicken, my friends. The noodles, although enjoyable, did not go as deep as the boat would suggest. Underneath was a fluffy bed of lettuce. To the side were the accompaniments: cilantro, bean sprouts, and cucumbers (the latter two I do not eat). So, for a smattering of noodles with a side of chicken, I was, regrettably, unsatisfied. For the fiancée, it was a different story. She cleared her boat and was happy as a clam! The tea she had certainly helped. Maybe I should have gotten one myself. Actually, on the subject of beverages, I would not recommend the water! Shoot, I suspect the tap is to blame, but we don't drink Yuma water for a reason! Very metallic taste -- just bring your own if you're thirsty. In any case, I am glad Saigon Pho exists. The venue is nice and tidy, the staff is wonderful, and the slice of culture is good for Yuma. While turning to Yelp for a Vietnamese restaurant in Yuma, AZ Saigon Pho popped up as the only restaurant that was actually a Vietnamese diner. So what did we do ? We put the address in our GPS and headed straight to it! While walking in we were greeted immediately with a warm smile and were seated promptly for drink orders. The restaurant offers all the classical Vietnamese style dishes in a very clean nice modern feel environment. We went ahead and ordered a Pho dac biet, and fried noodles with chicken. The waitress offered us to try their special tofu with lemongrass but, we passed even though it sounded great. Within minutes our food came out piping hot looking prettier than ever! We were given two small bowls with scissors for the noodles for the kids to make the eating more easier for them. The noodles were freshly fried in a wok and still had the wok aroma of the oil. They were your typical rice wide noodles with a seasoning that was basic but splurging with flavor! It had fresh green vibrant broccoli that was cooked al' dente and had that nice crunch when snapping into it. The carrots were packed with vitamins B6 and K and provided a nice snap back when eating them and also included plenty of fresh bok choy. The star of the show was was nicely chunked bites of chicken thighs! They were packed with flavor and so juicy when biting into them. The dish was very well put together and it was nicely garnished with fresh twigs of green cilantro. The noodles were nicely cooked with a nice firm chew packed with flavors and everything went merrily with each other creating one of the best fried noodle dishes I have ever ate! I took a couple sips of the pho broth and it was packing flavor from the herbal aromatics such as the cinnamon, cloves, and coriander and many more from the slow simmering of beef bones, ginger, onions and spices emulsifying in a great beefy broth. Overall hands down great job Saigon Pho for the friendly customer service and most of all the great food you provided to my family and me.
