Bob Laudette, owner of James Carboni Plumbing and Heating…read morefor over 33 years, was negligent in fulfilling his contract upon the installation of the furnace on December 3, 2019.  "ALL WORK WILL BE PERFORMED IN A NEAT AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER AND WILL MEET OR EXCEED ALL STATE AND LOCAL CODES."   Obviously he did not inspect the installation of the project on December 3 or he was not up to date on building codes.  The building inspector gave him 3 citations for code violations.The chimney clean out door was cemented ..a potential fire hazard. Contrary to Bob Laudette's explanation, the chimney was serviced prior to installation and given a stamp of approval!  The oil line was not protected properly and would cause a major oil leak if someone tripped over it and dislodged it; the duct work/ bonnet was installed with major gaps heating the basement to over 90 degrees. Besides the citations for code violations, Bob Laudette has ignored issues with the furnace and units: combustion issues with small explosions, malfunctioning humidifier, blower so powerful it rattles doors, oil leaks, filters to keep the blower working properly and to insure quality of inside air malfunctioning, extensive dust, uniform distribution of heat is deplorable with the basement heated at 90 degrees and the upstairs rooms are cold. All this for $7500? Now Bob Laudette wants to come and service the new furnace three months later after he ignored numerous calls in January and in fact cancelled a service call. At that point, I had to call reputable and licensed contractors to check out the furnace but the problems still persist. I contacted other agencies for help.  Consumer Protection who has limited authority suggested I pursue legal representation.  My mother, Amelia Wakely, expected and paid for what she thought was an up to date working oil furnace. Why would anyone keep a lemon; deal with a company who fails to treat a client in a professional manner or not at all; who does substandard work and delivers a defective product and writes they have a great business ethic!  Could Bob Laudette possibly service the furnace in the future if he can't deliver an up to date American Standard working furnace now? My mother wants her money returned, the furnace and so forth removed, and the mess they left cleaned up. Bob Laudette did not install a system free of charge out of the goodness of his heart. Lastly, my mother's health living under these conditions has deteriorated since the furnace was installed December 3,2019 . With the pandemic, the directive now is to shelter in the safety and comfort of your home. The safety of her home is a health hazard. How insensitive Bob Laudette is to suggest this is a frivolous matter! Hopefully our experience will save someone from grief in the future! Photos supplied upon request!

This experience with Service Relief did not go well and still isn't fully resolved…read more First I called several weeks ago to schedule what I thought would be a minor job. No call back after a full week. I finally schedule service and the first service tech is unable to resolve the issue and says he will need to order parts. I get a date when they will come back and end up with a service tech that replaces the faucet and shower head and leaves me with a dripping shower faucet and a hole in the wall that I tells me I need to get an access cover with no real details. He also tells me that since they can't replace the fixtures in my bathroom sink I need to purchase a new vanity and faucet. Mind you over the several days that it took to come out the second time these items could have been ordered and at my home or ready for pick up. On the scheduled day of the third appointment I get a call as I am leaving work to get home for the service that indicates the service tech has an emergency and can't make it. On the fourth day I get several calls from scheduling about where to pick up the items I ordered and then finally requesting the order number. Two techs arrive to install the new vanity and faucet. During the install they started talking about me or another customer while in my bathroom. After all this they try to convince me that my shower faucet isn't leaking and then say if it starts to they can come back. In addition after they left I found two of my towels balled up on the floor wet and with debris in them. They never asked to use these towels for this purpose. My shower faucet is still dripping. At least I have new fixtures and a new vanity.

Service relief came out today and denied all responsibility because of course the 1 year warranty has expired. example # 2 -- prior to boiler installation called service releif out to check my AC unit in back yard. SAME technician told me your unit needs to be replaced and will cost like 12 grand -- i ordered a new fan from EBAY and installed it myself and unit has been working fine for last 2 years !!!! Joe was excellent throughout the entire process. After speaking to over 10 other contractors, all of whom came out and gave me estimates ranging from $6000 through $14000, I was thoroughly impressed with Joe's professionalism and his attitude from the start. He was completely upfront about pricing, credits from manufacturers, anticipated labor time, etc. Where are other contractors were just trying to squeeze every last dime out of me I never got that impression from Joe. When it came to the actual work, Joe was able to coordinate around our schedule (as we were in the process of getting married and moving into the new house at the same time). The team he had working with him was excellent throughout the whole process as well. They were all extremely polite and professional and I had no concerns about leaving them in my house to get the necessary work done. I never saw them standing around with nothing to do and they were very respectful of our property. They even made sure that they cleaned up each and every day after they finished working, which was excellent, and definitely not something every company does. It's 5 months later and I still haven't found a single nail or piece of cut piping laying on the ground. The boiler that was put in works excellently, probably better than my initial expectations. He also removed the ancient boiler and oil tank that were there when we purchased the property. Once again, there were no issues with the removal and I love having the extra room in the basement. It has been 5 months since he installed the system and there has been two times when I have had a minor leak, and due to my fear of plumbing, I called Joe both times. On both occasions not only did Joe get back to me within the hour, he also arranged to have one of his guys out at my house the following morning. Both of the problems were relatively easy fixes and the individual was in and out of my house in under an hour on both occasions. I have nothing but high regards for Mr. Abbate and his company and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were a blessing to me, even the young lady who answered the phone was so sweet and polite. and this meant so much more because I've been having an extremely rough year, been having a lot of Windows slammed in my face but Mr Abbate came to assess my furnace and he was so considerate and so empathetic and compared to everyone else I had been dealing with in the past few weeks, he considered how cold it was outside and how uncomfortable it must have been for me, and he made sure to get my furnace in, even though I'm pretty sure his schedule is extremely tight right now. He could have waited until after Christmas but he tried his best to get the work done for me right away, and for that I will be forever grateful.
