Came in on a Monday lunch. The owners were super friendly and could guide us through the buffet they just started. They had intermixed some indochina and Indian fare. Very good take out. Best Indian I've had in a lot of places. I especially like the samosas,, because who doesn't love spicy fried crispy deliciousness. Honestly though everything is spot on. Been wanting to stop in since eating at their sister restaurant in Bozeman, and boy was I glad I did!! Fabulous Indian food done to perfection. I had the lamb vindaloo and my wife had the chicken Tika masala, both were outstanding! The garlic naan was outrageously good. We chose a low spice level on both dishes and will probably kick it up a notch next time. The restaurant is in the place where Dimasco's used to be and it brought back fond memories. Horrible customer service. The guy who took our order(appeared to be the owner) royally messed up our order. He brought the wrong appetizer, when asked to get the right one, he said it will take 15 minutes. We told him we will wait for it, but he brought the main course. My husband had ordered one dish, which did not come - even though we had almost finished the dinner. When my husband walked up to the counter to inquire about his dish, the owner/manager said that we never ordered it. Then we asked about the appetizer, he said we never asked for it. For him to have written the order down and repeating correctly at the time, he had the audacity to tell us that " majority rules". While I have never had authentic Indian food, i have had a lot of food in the surrounding countries. With that being said, the food here was even better than I would have hoped and the flavors met my expectations from my experience in the surrounding region. I had a fish curry, cooked at their spiciest level and was in food heaven. My wife had a vegetable curry at medium spice, and while she thought it was still a bit spicy, she also loved her dinner. The naan bread was charred in a good way, and I am now in love with the Indian cheese balls (the name escapes me but it was like friend spicy cheese curds with a contrasting sweet sauce). Overall, we were both pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. My service was pleasant, and the staff were efficient and friendly. So why the docked star? The dining room was dimly lit and grimey. Additionally, there was terrible Kenny g style saxophone music blaring the whole time. The ambiance created was opposite of the food that was served. I think a dining room remodel and tasteful background music would easily propel the restaurant into five star territory. I do understand that this is not a traditional dine-in to restaurant, but they have the dining room, so it should be kept up better. Even with the terrible dining room, the food is well worth the visit and a great departure from topical Montana fare. Lastly, everything was reasonably priced. read more

This is the ONLY Indian restaurant in the greater Bozeman area, thankfully it is a good one. The staff were all very friendly, despite being busy they kept things moving at a good pace. I am a huge fan of indian food and seek it out when traveling, so I was very excited to get an indian restaurant near home. I was very disappointed on many levels. The restaurant wasn't clean. The floor felt slippery like there was oil or grease on it, and I had to wipe off the table. The food wasn't good. I don't know where these 4 & 5 star ratings are coming from. Perhaps they are just very inconsistent as the other reviews claim to know good indian. The food was served cafeteria style under heat lamps. As in another review, the naan tasted like it was heated in a microwave. It was very rubbery and lacking flavor. I ordered the butter chicken and some kind of curry. The flavor was bland. My wife and a friend of ours ordered the shrimp. It was overcooked and shriveled. The food is served on paper plates with plastic flat-ware. I could live with this if the food was good and the restaurant clean. The final straw was that they started to clean something, I assume the grill, while we were in there. It was awful, the stench forced us out. What's worse, we could still smell it on our jackets and in our hair the next day. I wanted to like this place, but it just wasn't good. I had thought about giving it a second chance, but our first experience was so bad, we haven't been back. read more

Have had Indian food many, many places across the country and was very excited to learn Montana had an Indian place to try, and near us! However, our experience was mediocre at best. Food was not hot, barely warm. The naan was so rubbery, we could hardly chew it. The spice flavors were "off", and unlike any other I've tried. Interesting concept, but sadly we won't be going back... We're still in DIRE need of a sit down, full-service, traditional Indian Food place in this state. Let me preface, I am an Indian born and brought up with a very high bar for quality food. With that, I must say we found this great restaurant while flying into Bozeman on our Yellowstone trip. We were 13 in total and after being inside YNP for 3 days, were craving Indian. Since it was Monday, Curry Express seemed our only option and we decided to give it a shot (although it was some distance from Bozeman, but hell we were in Montana). Not only did they do an amazing job on the food we ordered, they also went out of their way to make sure we had food for our 2 year old toddler who is allergic to dairy, nuts etc etc. The owners assured us that we wouldn't have any complaints on food taste and they delivered on their promise. Don't go by the looks, we also didn't care for the buffet. Ala Carte was what we had ordered and all of us enjoyed all the dishes thoroughly. Unlike some other reviewers, we had ordered Gulab Jamun for desserts and they came out piping hot and tasted delish. To top it off they made fresh chai on our request. What else could we have asked for. They totally earned their stripes. If you are craving Indian food on your Yellowstone trip, this is worth a visit. read more

I'm so happy to see an Indian restaurant that delivers to Bozeman. I thought the food was great & the driver was very friendly. The spice level was on point! I just moved here from DC and this place is a welcome sign to us. FYI, don't order food from the next town over and expect it to be piping hot when it gets here. A gem for Indian food in Montana!!!! I discovered this place by chance when I was visiting Bozeman, and the Indian kid in me was joyful because the food was both authentic and salvating. Excellent garlic naans; creamy curries; and Bollywood music. It was just like an Indian restaurant in a normal big city in America. Since my initial discovery, I have driven from Helena just to eat here. I am not giving 5 stars because their service time is slow, they don't always answer their phones, and more than once I made the drive from Helena to eat here and they weren't open and they didn't have any sign explaining why either. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! COPS INVOLVED. I called in a to go order. When I got home I noticed my food was not what I had ordered and nothing like the pictures showed on their website. I have ordered here in the past and it was good. I called back and spoke with a nice woman who was working the front and explained to her. She informed me I could return the food and they would be happy to give me a refund. When I arrived there a man (who is the cook TIM) came out from the back and instantly started degrading me for bringing the food back which confused me as I was told to bring it back no problem. He made me bring out my phone to show him the pictures and continued to make it a problem after finally receiving my refund and going home I pulled out my receipt to find that he wrote very rude comments about myself. I was already upset from how I was treated by him for bringing the food back I decided to go back and show the manager what he wrote. When arriving I found him outside smoking a cigarette my husband asked if he wrote that to which he replied yes. My husband asked he give me an apology to which he started cussing and acting like he was going to get physical..I called the cops before he laid hands on anyone. The receptionist was even scared of how he was acting and treating her. I have been a waitress myself and been in the food/customer service industry a lot of my career and never witnessed such unprofessional and disrespect by an employee..if that the cook..not even someone in charge very bad representation of the business. I highly highly recommend you do not go here if this man is still employed and cooking your food he clearly has no respect for women or customers! I am really disappointed in how this had to be. Heard about this little gem from a bartender in Bozeman. He exclaimed how great it was and that all the local chefs absolutely love it. Could barely wait to try it the next afternoon for lunch- I was lucky enough to be raised with Indian food mixed into my diet because my mother worked for an Indian...once you get bit by the curry bug... There's no help for you! So I absolutely CRAVE Indian food. The lunch was amazing. Plenty to choose from and all very fresh. The owner was behind the counter and took special care of my entourage that I brought along who were also very excited! The seating is a bit limited, but it wasn't a problem for us. Worst Indian food we have EVER had. Got take-out. Everything leaked Ghee out of the containers to start. Chicken Tikka was chewy and tough. Saag Aloo tasted like it was ground frozen spinach with zero flavor. Lamb vindaloo had over 1/4 cup ghee that we ladled off. We had heard good things about this little restaurant in Belgrade were in the mood for takeout so we gave it a shot. Our experience with Indian food is not extensive, but we have eaten at several restaurants in larger cities including London and Tel Aviv. I placed our order online through Eatstreet. I was surprised at how extensive the menu is with a variety of dishes and even more authentic proteins such as lamb and goat. We ordered Malabar with shrimp (spicy) and Vindaloo with lamb (medium) as well as butter naan and garlic naan. Both were fantastic! They were very flavorful with just the amount of heat we expected. Went here on recommendation of hotel desk clerk. Wanted something fast and good, without the crowds in Bozeman during MSU start week. Met a nice couple on the way in and they recommended the sampler - a little bit of everything. Delish and two orders served three of us. Bear in mind this is fast food, but did not see paper plates as the one reviewer stated. Place could have been a bit cleaner in terms of bussing dishes and table, but food area was very clean.
