Please someone tell me why this place is not mentioned more. For those of you who have a wicked Dosa or Samosa craving, this is the place you need to be I'm not sure why you wouldn't come here personally, but it is wonderful. The ambiance is basically a grocery store...but had a side eatery. It's not Michelin Star glitz and glamour by any means, but my god, the FLAVOR of everything is off the charts. From puff pastries to the stuffing of the Dosas. The service was nice and quick, and to be fair one of the best sambars I have tasted. My only gripe is that I wish they would more of that Masala filling in the dosa, and perhaps mash it flatter as it was sort of like chunks of potatoes. Curry in Hurry provided catering for my mother's milestone birthday event. We kept the menu simple with heavy appetizers and chai. Ordered cutlets, dahi vada and pav bhaji. They did a good job of the pav bhaji live station (heating up and serving the pav). Food was fresh and tasty (though a little oily for my personal taste). Servers were helpful and friendly. I saw the mixed reviews on this place and decided to give it a try with my husband. It was the BEST decision EVER! I am a fan of flavor-forward establishments that aren't shy of using an array of spices. The food was bursting with flavor and the dishes were all homemade with love. My palate was definitely pleased and intrigued at the same time. The service was top notch. Both the cashier and the cook staff were very attentive to my questions about the ingredients I needed to stay away from and they were very meticulous about ensuring that my order fit my dietary restrictions. (I am vegan, gluten free for food allergies). The location is not what I expected (inside a small supermarket) but I am a sucker for an adventure in a hole-in-the-wall eatery. I don't need fine dining, just fine service and that is what I received, so that checked all the boxes for me. I found someone's posted photos online of an old menu that helped me see some posted allergens. I didn't not see one in the cafe, just a sign. We had a live catering stall consisting of Raj Kachori, Aloo Tikki, and Chole Bhature for our daughter's Haldi function in round rock with about 65 guests. We were quite impressed by the excellent quality of service the 3 CIH folks provided throughout the ceremony. Had to give minimal guidance to setup and they did the rest in our backyard! The quality of the chaat was so good, that about 12 of our guests (1 recently moved from CA) took their contact details. We lucked out with excellent weather, company of friends & family, festive decorations - and their food & service definitely enhanced the afternoon festivities! This eatery is actually more of a small section inside of an Indian grocery store and not a true "restaurant" on its own. Great thing about that is you can save some cash on tipping because it is mainly a casual self-serve eatery after they being you your meal! They only offer vegetarian meals, but the food I tried was delicious and you won't miss not having meat at all! The taste of all the food I tried was seriously great, but portion was small compared to other places in Austin. You could eat until you're full at an Indian buffet for less. That was basically my only complaint. It's not expensive at all, but you expect a larger portion for the price because it's Texas! One thing to note: weekends are more expensive than during the week for some reason. There's about a 25% discount if you go on a weekday as opposed to a weekend. Was a regular for couple of months but service has quickly gone down. Wait time on weekends even when they are not running full us more than 40 mins for a simple chat. When they started, they were flexible around what's serves in the Thali but now the great options of the Thali get over fast and they are not flexible around any replacements. (3) It's not really a restaurant, it's a counter + dining area inside a large Indian grocery. PROS: (1) Delicious, authentic food. (2) Reasonably priced. (3) Lots of veg*n options. CONS: (1) The atmosphere is a bit sad. Large, rectangular, hanging fluorescent lighting. (2) The print menus have all the pricing removed. You have to use the kiosk to see pricing. (3) No telling whether the Special of the day is vegan, because it's not marked. It was hard to get an answer on that from staff, because she didn't speak much English (and her language was Spanish, not Hindi), but we eventually did get the answer, which was no, not vegan, at least not on the day we were there. She didn't offer any substitutions, so it seems that wasn't an option. (4) Plastic utensils. Very wasteful. I will upgrade to four stars if they upgrade to metal utensils. read more

Don't ever get Chole bhature, they fry 3 priories or maybe tortillas and serve them as bhature! When asked they insist on that being freshly made bhature in the kitchen. This is a basic counter service restaurant inside an Indian grocery, so set your expectations accordingly. The food is very good and fair value given the curry of the day special for 6.99. THis is an excellent restaurant and take out facility. They have two locations. One on parmer, near Mopec, and other on FM 620 and Pecan park road... Dine or take out both are excellent. I ordered shole Bhutaras samosas chaat, bhindi, aloo sabji, and dhal mulga I all to go and I formed the lady I was traveling long distance. I paid $57 for very small quantity of food which was very small and I got puries and not bhuturas. They gave me 2 cocktail samosas for the chaat! The aloo sabji was floating in oil and mostly watered down potatoes. All the food was very greasy and oily. The dhal mukhani and shole tasted ok but not that great. The puries were very oily looks like they forgot to drain the oil before taking puries out. I waited 3 0 minutes for a very disappointing meal. Please read the one star reviews, those reviews are true and don't bother ordering in this place again. I feel very frustrated and angry as I was looking forward to a good meal. Since it's quite new, the place is spotless. There's not much decor to speak of- it's in a Grocery store after all (more or less like a deli). The food is pretty okay if you're in a hurry. There are a couple of lunch deals from Tuesday- Sunday. The meal deal Thali at $6.99 with two curry options, lentil soup, 4 rotis and rice, and the special at $9.99. Trust me when I say that the 6.99 is plenty for one , and is actually enough for two. My favourites here are the chole (garbanzo beans gravy) and the dal fry (yellow lentils). Albeit slightly oily, they're tasty and never get you sick. The location is extremely convenient, especially to those who live around here. The fact that they have chaat (street food) here is perfect. I wouldn't go out of my way to get here, but if you work around here, or are looking for a quick bite/ it's perfect. read more

Came here after a long time because the original food truck used to serve good food at a decent price. Today, I ordered Pani Puri. As I scanned the menu, I noticed that the pricing of all the items has increased considerably (~35% more without a portion increase). Anyways, I poured the pani into the poori and placed the entire bite into my mouth since this is how this dish is traditionally eaten. The pani was completely SPOILED!!! I then smelled the pani and it was reeking of the odor of liquid that runs out of trash bags. They admitted that the pani was spoiled when they took it back to the kitchen but I got a refund ONLY for that particular dish. I am scared to ever order pani poori again and can't say I will ever return. This is the first negative review I have ever written- but this experience left me really really disappointed. I am sorry that this place has some bad reviews. I was pleasantly surprised at how good my meal was. There is no meat, so this is great for vegetarians. It is a "hole in the wall" within an indian grocery store so its not good if you want nice ambiance. What it is GREAT for is the good. I got a combo meal 3 different types of curry, a large portion of yummy saffron rice, a somoa and a honey dough ball (sorry I do not know the name for it) but it was all quite tasty. Binta, the owner was attentive to all our requests regarding Covid safety and suggested options that worked really well for us. The food was delicious and packed securely with all compostable material boxes as requested.
