Who knew you could find good Indian food in a gas station parking lot? Located in front of Chevron gas station, this super colorful trailer serves some great Indian and Indo-Chinese food. I got the paneer tikka kathi roll which is essentially a wrap filled with paneer, green bell pepper, purple onion and covered in an almost spicy mayo sauce. It was delicious! My friend who is Indian got the ragada chaat and enjoyed it. Also their spice level is true Indian spice - I got medium and was slightly tearing but not in a bad way. Off menu they have an amazing mango lassi - it is deliciously creamy and the mango flavor is very strong which I love. They also have dosas there and it is very decent size - my other friend got it as mild and will say the mild is pretty mild. If you're ordering to go would recommend calling about 20-25 minutes prior you wanting the food as it does take some time to prepare. I ordered via phone at 2:43 pm and went to pick up at 3:10 pm and the food was barely just ready. Parking wise since it shares with gas station there are parking spots next to it and next to UPS as well. Eating area they have 2-3 picnic tables underneath the tree. Highly recommend! Excited to see what other food they have.

The portion sizes were generous too, so you definitely get good value for your money. Service - 10/10: The service really stood out. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about our experience. They checked in on us throughout the meal without being intrusive, which made us feel well taken care of. Ambiance - 7/10: The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and welcoming, but the atmosphere is fairly simple. It's not a place I'd choose for a fine dining experience, but it's perfect for a casual meal with family or friends. One small change that could make a big difference would be swapping the bright white lighting for warmer yellow lighting--it would instantly create a cozier, more inviting vibe. Overall: If you're craving authentic North Indian food in the Austin area, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, excellent service, generous portions, and a satisfying dining experience. I'll definitely be back!

Still an awesome value for the quality and quantity of food we get, and we appreciate the adjustable spice levels! They always ask, and then double check after the food is served, to make sure it's what you wanted. I like extra spicy, and they gave me the "make the gori cry" level, and the Hop Queen likes extra mild, and it fits her tolerance well.

There was one customer waiting, and not another person. I waited about ten minutes. My son loves chicken Tikka masala, so we ordered him some. It is spicy. I'm into a moderate spice, and this is burning my lips as I type. There was no option when ordering online to determine level of spice so we weren't ready for that. Beyond the spice the chicken was tough, so even if the spice was toned down the chicken wasn't great. The tandoori chicken is nice and flavorful and tender. $17 for three drumsticks and two thighs might be a bit steep. Overall not an overwhelmingly good experience.

The restaurant is clean, well decorated and ready for your visit! The staff are super friendly. I drove home with my order and it was piping hot and spectacular. Chicken tikka is spicy, mildly sweet and so delicious. A great way to conquer allergy season! The paneer butter masala had a lot of paneer. Many other locals have tiny bits of paneer in a sea of gravy. At Tamarind you will not be disappointed! Don't miss the potato samosas... Come on Austin, let's show these guys more lunch time love!
