    Ras Malai
    Thu T.

Recommended by an Indian friend who knows their stuff when it comes to street food, and yes, this place did not disappoint! It's a food truck parked at a gas station, so not exactly a sit-down vibe, but the flavors totally made up for it. I'd say grab it to-go if you want to eat more comfortably. I tried the Rose Lassi, Ras Malai, and Raj Kachori, and all three hit the spot. Pro tip: bring cash, you pay less that way! The Rose Lassi was cold, creamy, and had a strong rose flavor that wasn't overpowering. Super refreshing. Ras Malai was delicate and sweet, made with paneer and soaked in syrup. Honestly, sooo good but definitely not guilt-free. The Raj Kachori was the most interesting--served cold, with chickpeas, dal, chutneys, and yogurt all stuffed in a big, crispy fried shell (like a giant pani puri!). Slightly spicy, tangy, and filling. It's definitely a full-on snack--don't let the "street food" label fool you. Would 100% come back when I'm craving Indian snacks. Flavorful, satisfying, and feels like a hidden gem kind of spot.

I'm not Indian and my taste is definitely Americanized, so a lot of these foods were very new for me! That being said, I really enjoyed my meal here! The samosas were amazing, but also it's kind of hard to mess those up. It wasn't too spicy and the sauces added a nice sweetness to it. The cheese vada pav was good. I enjoyed the bread and the potatoes, but it didn't come with any cheese. So I feel like our order was just made wrong? It was also a little too spicy for my personal taste. But probably could have been more tolerable with the cheese. The dabeli was really good too. But the onion flavor is so strong! To the point where it gives it a bit of a funk and you have to make sure to freshen your breath after. But still pretty good! The Dahi Vada was pretty interesting. It just tasted like bread and yogurt to me though :/ so probably wouldn't get that again. But if you don't like sorry bread, make sure to eat it sooner rather than later. The raj kachori was probably my favorite thing we got! It was cold which I didn't expect, but it was nice and cool and refreshing, especially when eating the spicier dishes. The pav bhaji was also really good! But didn't necessarily stand out to me. It tasted pretty similar to the dabeli.

Came here for the first time as we were searching for food truck near me! This Indian food truck was very good! I had no clue what to order so I got the recommendation from the staff and My wife got her own and it was good! Will be back for new things! :)

I'm always on the hunt for some good chaat especially on the days I miss Mumbai. This place definitely hit the spot and I was glad that everything I ordered turned out good. The dahi in the dahi vada was delicious, perfectly sweet and savory however I wish the vada was spongier rather than so dense. The cheese vada pav barely had any cheese and I wish the authentic pav was used, nonetheless the vada itself was perfect! Crispy and not too spicy. The bhel puri was full of flavor, crunch and different textures. It feels kind of obscene to pay these prices for street food though and wish they could offer half portions for more affordable prices maybe? Service is fast though we did go at a random time of day and there are two benches nearby to sit at.

Anuya loves their pav bhaji and we have got pickup many times from them in the past. This time I got a vada pav which left me very unsatisfied. I have some specific suggestions for improving it: 1) The pav should be toasted with butter just like the pavbhaji pav 2) put more chutney and on both buns 3) The vada looked barely cooked Look the picture that shows my improvements to it.

Appearances may be misleading. This unassuming food truck stands next to a gas station, where it serves some of the best Indian food in Austin. Its Pav Bhaji is a creamy vegetable curry that comes with hamburger buns to dip. The peas in the Pav Bhaji create tiny explosions of flavor and the rest of the curry emulsifies your mouth with a thick and rich tomato gravy texture. Definitely the highlight of our meal, 10/10. We also got Vada Pav, which was good, but not memorable. We tried their Dahi Puri, filled with the sauces they gave us and packed to the brim with flavor. The Dahi Puri was practically the perfect crispness, although I do wish there was more content in it (instead of just sauces). My only real complaint about this restaurant is that there's no meat, but the vegetable dishes more than make up for the lack of it. Definitely worth a try if you're into Indian food.

This is such an underrated food truck in Cedar Park! It's beside a gas station. We had one of the best Raj kachoris here!! I am totally in love with Raj kachori!! Also, the masala papad is a no-miss!!!! My friend loved their special Bombay chaat and in this winter evening, masala tea added a great flavor! My friend tried Rose Lassi and it was also thick in consistency! Overall the food we had was really really good and the evening crowd was also decent which made me feel that this place has good reputation! :) The staff were polite and overall my experience was good!

Yummmm food. This is a gem. Definitely a must go place for all Indian snack / quick bite food lovers. We tried few things and each dish was yum. Dabeli, pao bhaji, sev puri, mango lassi we're great. Rose lassi was okey. Definitely a must go place

We were up north and I was craving chaat so decided to try this place on a cold and rainy day. It's a food truck in a gas station with one table outside but otherwise it seemed people just take it home. We sat in the car and ate it and here's the review of each item. 1. Vada Pav - fresh and delicious and definitely spicy 2. Sev Puri - small portion but very tasty and freshly made as well 3. Dahi Papdi Chaat - this was definitely a new take on papdi chaat for me as it was warm with Ragda (lentil) served in the bottom. Great portion size but it was insanely spicy which is why I took a star off. There should definitely be a spice indicator level or you should ask what spice level bc although I asked for more yogurt and sweet chutney, it was really hard to eat still. They give you an14% (random?) discount if you pay with cash. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back but this time will be sure to share spice level myself if not asked!

Yummmm! The most authentic Indian food in northwest Austin probably. They are a food truck in a gas station parking lot and I can see lots of people lined up at night. I've come here twice and enjoyed it both times. I love the Pani Puri, it's best eaten right when it comes out and it's both crispy and creamy. Sooo good. The chaats are also delicious, loaded with chickpeas, potatoes, some bread pieces (?), tomatoes (?) -- all of which create a nice curry texture that has a perfect kick to it. Only thing I'd deduct a star for is I wish they had a carb like rice or naan to go with the chaat. The owner is friendly and shred his recs and also checked on us after we got our food. Would recommend for sure! :)

Their special chapati chaat made with some daal fried chapati and a potato patty underside

Some places make chaats where it feels like a crumbly throw together. This humble trailer in specializes in chaats and so you'll taste a fresher and intentional menu. There is average chaats that have the minimal curd, chutney, sev, onions and tomatoes but then this trailer has so much more complexity and depths of flavor. Their special is the their chapati chaat ($7.99) It has not such fried chapati but also dal and the potato patty within. Topped with the curd, green and tamarind chutneys, sev but most unique is the bits of pomegranate, cashews and dried chutneys I believe. Their other special the bread cutlet chaat ($5.99), is delicious fried (and you can taste the crisp) bread soaked in sweet tamarind chutney. This was actually my favorite. The Vada Pav was what I went for but turns out I love their chaats so much better. The Vada is thick and whole size that fits a whole bun. Upon request it comes with their most spicy green chutney on top of the sauteed green chillies. The bun could've been more buttery and toasted and unfortunately it's not the miniature sweet like Hawaiian bread kind but the portion is of a full sandwich. Recommend to try - it's hidden in the parking lot of. Chevron gas station on Anderson Mill.

Their food is AMAZING - specifically the Pav Bhaji and Vada Pav. Wherever you live in Austin, this is a must try! Closest in taste to actual Indian food.

There only have been very few times I have updated a review to even better for some places. We did third catering order from them, third time people were floored with the food, our guests from Dallas told this place will be a stopping point for them every time they visit Austin. This place is super legit and hence u will find food super spicy, that's what a chaat is supposed to be . The owners are super nice people, we forgot soem food and they came home and delivered it to us for free. The food quality hasn't come down and they continue to improve.

The chutney is a bit salty in my experience. Would've been better if it was a bit more on the tangy and minty side. This food truck uses red onion in their food, which makes you not have strong onion breath. Rose falooda is creamy and delicious. The ice cream in there is more like icy, not the traditional ice cream texture. It has lots of toppings, such as dried fruit, slivered almonds, chopped pistachio, and basil seeds. The crunch from nuts and basil seeds, the sweetness from dried fruit, the slight tang from dried raisin, the creaminess of milk and the aroma of rose combined in a perfect sweet treat. There're several tables and benches but no umbrellas, so it'll be really hot to eat there in Texas summer. Service is efficient and food comes out very fast.
