This is a cute little take out place with North Indian food. Would suggest calling ahead your order and pick it up later! Everything is freshly made and it is a small business, so things do take a bit of time. The staff is very friendly. Veg Samosa: pretty good! The filling was delicious with potatoes and peas and the samosas were a good size! Chicken Biriyani: there was a buy 1 get one 1/2 off, so we got 2 plates of this. Be warned that the plates are large!! I wasn't used to the way they made the biriyani, but My husband enjoyed this dish. Butter Chicken: the butter chicken here is really good! either these reviews are fake or you all have really low standards for indian food. i know we're not in a big metropolitan area and this is probably as good as it gets out here, but it's worth the drive to go down to chicago to get good food. the butter chicken was ... edible. that's about all i can say. i asked for it to be extra extra spicy and that was the only good part of the dish. the chicken was hard. it was also very sweet. many people mentioned this in reviews i read, but i thought they were being dramatic and it probably isn't that bad. it is very weird, in a bad way. the rice was flavorless and somehow not fresh. i also ordered garlic naan and it looked and tasted just like store bought naan from target. chewy and lacking flavor. i ordered this through door dash, so the prices may have been inflated from what it is in the restaurant, but $17 for butter chicken and $5 for one garlic naan in the middle of nowhere illinois is inSANE. drive down to chicago if you want good indian food. read more

Curry Leaf Indian Restaurant gets 3 stars from me. The portion sizes are pretty massive of the curry sauce and the rice, and the food is very tasty and made to order and certainly fresh and can be made as mild or spicy as you'd like. The negatives: there is a sign on the outside that says "dine in" yet there is absolutely no dining in, this is more of a carry out restaurant. They charge extra for rice (extremely cheap move Curry Leaf when almost every Indian restaurant includes rice with entrees). One of my containers was also not sealed completely and some sauce leaked out in my carry out bag. Overall, the food is good and this is a decent place for carry out if you're in the area and want Indian food but I don't think I'd return given the negatives. read more

Excellent Kerala style take out, and this is the first Indian restaurant I've been to in the Midwest that didn't pretend to not know what a tiffin is. The roti is delectable. In Kerala, Indians don't have a problem eating beef and that lets me sneak in a little sociology to my review. Peaceful coexistence among Christian, Muslim and Hindu led to Malalayi shared cuisines or maybe it was the other way around. If the people of the world could just share more meals, more recipes, more conversation over food, maybe we could all get along and there would be Peace on Earth. Or, you could come here and pick up an order of their beef curry, add some dal and rice and share with a friend and create just a little piece of peace. As soon as I had heard there was a new Indian restaurant in the area, my family and I had to try it. Most of the Indian restaurants in the area are more of a hike from our home in Volo, so a location in Libertyville was a welcome addition. Upon looking at the menu, the first thing I noticed were the reasonable prices, as Indian food can be pricey. Although our favorite dish, Chicken Tikka Masala, wasn't on the menu, we decided to give the butter chicken a try along with samosas and naan. The samosas were very delicious and flavorful. The butter chicken, while a little on the sweet side, was also very good. Quick tip: the dishes don't come with any rice, and the containers of rice are kind of small, so I recommend 2 orders of rice per dish. Next visit I look forward to trying something new as I'm sure the other dishes in the menu will be as delicious as what I've already tried. read more

My South Indian husband and I came for some dosa. It was delicious dosa! Not too greasy and just sour enough. The masala on the inside of his dosa was excellent, and the coconut chutney was fruity and flavorful. I also got a mango lassi, which was similar to the kind of lassi I usually get at Indian restaurants - probably made of canned mango pulp - but very refreshing. WOW! A very humble shop hides incredibly complex and deliciously spiced curry. I ordered the vegetable samosas, naan and paneer makini curry. The samosas were perfectly fried and packed full of fresh veggies, and the tamarind and mint chutneys that came with it were homemade. The paneer makini was amazing, creamy and sweet and mildly spicy with strong hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best curries I've had anywhere in the US. The naan was flavorful but not light and airy with a crisp bottom. Might try the roti next time instead. The prices were very low, especially considering how fresh and homemade everything is. Two entrees, two orders of naan, an appetizer and rice came to just under $30. One of the worst experiences. We got chicken bones instead of chicken meat. The taste was not bad but the dishes were made with chicken neck, chicken back bone, chicken tails and wings. Very little meat. High prices for bone meals. We paid more than $30 for two small "bone" dishes. Ordered bread (extra) but it was not included. You can tell top notch ingredients. The Naan both garlic and plain was delicious. We are big garlic lovers, it's a must have item. The three entrees we tried were: butter chicken, Chana masala and chicken tikka masala. I don't know which one to comment on first! The sauces were all incredible; unique flavor very tasty.
