Horrible experience. Went there based on yelp reviews. Ordered spicy lamb saag, it was not spicy at all. It was kind of luke warm (yuk!) and just bland. Overall a really bad experience. I could not even eat half of that food. For $12 got a totally bland food and spent 15 minutes in line (first ordering the food, and then after eating going back and waiting again to pay for it). We have traditionally obtained our Indian food from Tandoori Grill. I saw the really good reviews at Curry N Kebob and decided to give it a try. We do enjoy our Indian food. What we had: - Veg Samosa: These were ok, just not the right texture - 3 star - Rice: It was just basic rice, no spices / flavors added, pretty bland. Reminded me of the rice you get from Panda Express - 1 star - Naan: It was basic naan. Hard around the edges - 2/3 star - Chicken Marsala (Ordered Spicy): It was not even medium in my book, basic and had a watery taste to it - 2 stars - Chicken Kabob: (Ordered Med): It was mild, seemed baked, not grilled. Meat was a bit tough - 3 star - Chicken Saag: (Ordered Med): It was mild and did not have the right flavors, too much cardamon, chicken was not tender or thigh meat. - 1 star We did take out. The atmosphere in the place was like a nice fast food place. Which is OK unless you want a nice sit down dinner Prices were good, much cheaper than Tandoori, but the flavor is a lot less. If I needed a quick lunch, filling and not the traditional flavors, it would be ok. For a nice dinner or take out, I would go elsewhere. read more

One of my favorite curry places hands down. Service is fast and friendly, and everything is always fresh. I only took off 1 point because cleanliness and hygiene are big factors for me. There is usually stuff on the floors and tables that aren't completely wiped off, and sometimes even when it's not too busy the tables are not cleaned at all for the next customer. There's jam on the tables, forks leftover, crumbs and curry leftover. Double check your cups and silverware also! 5/10 times there's something on them. Their lunch specials are a great value, and I do eat a LOT but I have never been able to finish a lunch special. Which is better so you can take some home with you! read more

One of the worst Indian food joints. This is coming from an Indian. The biryani is just pulao, there is nothing biryani about it.. The chicken tikka masala is so bland and it's like tomato boiled with chicken and so is chicken jhalfrezi... I ordered a few apps and they were decent. Another time I ordered the lamb biryani and it was terrible. The other entrees I sampled were average at best and the prices have gone up in the past year or so. Went on a whim and left unimpressed. I ordered the Chicken Masala and the Tandoori Chicken since those are two of my favorite dishes and was told the most popular as well here. I requested for both to be "hot" on the spice scale, but both were very bland :( The portion of the Tandoori Chicken was tiny as well, and I've never seen it presented the way it was served here... you can visibly see the lack of masala, and you can taste it as well. Looking around the restaurant at the other tables I could see that the "Indian Cuisine" was meant to be mild and watered down, which is disappointing. Pretty good Indian food for cheap (although it doesn't taste like it!). You have to be pretty clear up front if you're ordering in a group, but other than that, they're very accommodating. I loved my piping hot meat samosas and tore through a heaping pile of cheese naan, and everyone in my group seemed to enjoy their hot, fresh meals as well. read more

Definitely some of the best Indian food I've had (and I've had a lot of Indian food)! I came here with a friend for dinner on a Sunday night and was thoroughly surprised by the delicious food and friendly staff. It's been a while but I remember the ordering process being a bit confusing which held up the line at the front desk as people struggled to place their orders. It got pretty crowded and we got in just before a dinner rush. Ironically, there seemed to be a lot of scumbag patrons (loud talkers, willfully oblivious parents, people who reaked of cigarettes and whiskey) in the restaurant so I would recommend take out. Prices were average for good Indian food with dishes starting at ~$10. Would definitely go back if I lived in the area. read more

I never write reviews.... but the chicken tikka masala is extremely runny, and the biryani is not very authentic either. Though it is not terrible, it is a disappointment from my usual spot. The lamb kabob is pretty good. A bit dry in my opinion but still tasty. Food is served in a huge stainless steel platter. Not too pricy. I like that the mango lassi is not super sweet like others. It's just a good lassi with a hint of mango flavor. Fast service. read more

This is a great whole-in-the-strip-mall find on 28th. There is a full menu, but the main attraction here are the $10/din or $8/lunch plates that include a main, rice, naan, a pakora and a small portion of (canned) pineapple. Bottom line-- the specials are an awesome deal. Enough food to feed two and delicious. The rest of the food is good as well (I've tried everything from samosas to dal to korma), but slightly more pricy since naan and the other extras aren't tied into the price. That said, the last year or so I've found the chicken to be kind of hard and dry when I order chicken curries. I'm thinking maybe the chicken is pre-cooked and then dumped in with whatever curry you order? Nonethless, always a solid option and usually a good value. I bring friends and family here. read more

For years I've been going here because they had delicious food and generous portion sizes. They went through a small price increase once but it still seemed reasonable given the amount of food provided. Unfortunately, I have to update my review from 5 stars down to 2 stars after our most recent trip. The flavors in both dishes that were ordered changed noticeably and not for the better. I asked friends if they noticed a change or if we caught a bad night and they, too, have noticed a change within the last few months. While the naan recipe has improved over the years, these new curry recipes just don't taste as good. I'm not sure the reason for change but hope they change the recipes back to the old ones soon or we'll stop coming. read more

After leaving Boulder Brewing having barely touched some of the most disgusting food served to me to date, decided to jump on Yelp and roll the dice. Spotted this joint with 4.5 stars overall, and I will say it's rightly deserved. Ordered the lunch special. The amount of food you get for $8.00 is fantastic. Could only finish half the rice and half the flatbread. The chicken kebab was perfectly cooked, incredibly tender and the spices were so, so good. Had to mop up the leftover spices with bread and rice. I ordered mine medium spicy. It had a really nice kick to it. I really like spicy foods, so I wouldn't order the dish medium unless you like spicy foods. And hot I can imagine would clear your sinuses in a hurry. Great Food just as the last time I had dined in....food is always better than take out. But we decided to pick up being relatively close and between me ordering and my mother picking up, she missed our chai and mango lasse's ( a surprise to her) so we had to go back. I have been back a few times since my last review. The last time was a couple of days ago. I ordered the daily special with Chicken Kabob. The chicken was great, everything else on the plate was mediocre. The naan was so-so. The onion bhaji was good, but the canned pineapple is below par. The kids that work the counter are friendly and helpful. Considering that I could have enjoyed a great buffet at other Indian restaurants in town (with a variety of meats/veggies, brown rice, salads, real dessert) for a few dollars more, I probably won't be back for the lunch special. I will continue to get takeout from the regular menu whenever I am in Boulder. read more

I love this place! I can honestly say that this is some of the best Indian food that I have ever had. Great lunch and dinner specials, prices and quality food. The food is always fresh, and there are really big portions, too! Also, most dishes can be made vegan. The staff is nice, and the food is ready fairly quickly. One thing though - I wish Curry N Kebob would be open all day long instead of closing in between lunchtime and dinnertime. The dishes I have gotten here include Mushroom Mutter, Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, Chana Masala, Samosas, Garlic Naan, and Malai Kofta. I recommend all of them! They are delicious. read more

Another review put it well: the place is in a clean but humble setting, but the food is simply excellent. You'd do well to go withthe dine-in daily specials,as they provide heartu, hearty portions for $10. You get a tasty appetizer, generous portions of their delicious naan bread (on par with naan I've had in many a major metropolitan area), your main dish with rice, and a small fruitcup for dessert. All served on an attractive silver dish, which is convemient if you like to spoon the savory sauces of whatever your main dish is onto your rice and naan. Really very filling, with friendly service and a nice price. Not a place for your special night out, but a great place when you are hungry and want decent food for a decent price. read more

This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Boulder. I stumbled upon this place one rainy night with my boyfriend years ago and it hit the spot then just as it continues to do now. I'm a total creature of habit so I almost always get the Chicken Korma with garlic naan. I've tried different kormas across the city and this is by far my favorite - complex with the right amount of spice. Really great Indian food at a great price! This is a small mom and pop restaurant in a strip mall situated in-between a Little Caesars Pizza and a Quiznos with seating for about 20-25. Nothing fancy here....EXCEPT THE FOOD! Yes the food is excellent but the most impressive thing is their consistency. It's been equally good every time I've come and I've come here ALOT! The chicken Makni, chicken kabobs, saag paneer,mushroom mutter, onion bahji, all are excellent. One reviewer questioned if the Naan was pan fried. First, to me at least, it's quite obvious that it's NOT pan fried just be looking and tasting it. Second you can easily see the entire kitchen from the front counter and the Tandoor is right in the middle of the action. read more
