Samosa, Shahi Paneer (fried chicken) & Butter Chicken
Larry W.

This Indian cuisine eatery is located in Portland Food Hall on SW 2nd Avenue. Initially I was questioning our dining choice for this Saturday lunch. But once the food came out, my wife and I were very good. The Butter Chicken entree dish was very tasty and was an ample serving. We also tried the Fried Chicken appetizer dish called Shaki Paneer. The Samosas were fresh and cooked just right. Do use the two sauces for drizzling on the appetizer Samosas. Service was very solid as we had several questions before we ordered!

This was some of the best Indian food I have ever had. The service was great, and the price was reasonable as well.

I tried Bollywood Theater last night and had a really good experience overall. I placed an online…read moreto-go order (just a heads-up, they only accept online orders for takeout, no call-ins), and my food was ready in about 15 minutes, which was impressively fast. I ordered the chicken kati roll, a tikka bowl, and lemonade. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The kati roll was especially perfect well-seasoned, nicely wrapped, and satisfying without feeling heavy. The tikka bowl was also really good, with great balance of spices and textures. Even though I ordered to go, I couldn't help but notice how stunning the interior is. Honestly, I've rarely seen such a beautifully designed and spacious Indian restaurant. It's a perfect blend of modern style and authentic Indian décor, which gives it a unique and welcoming vibe. The place was spotless, and the staff were very friendly and helpful from start to finish. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the overall experience makes it worth a visit. Definitely recommend trying it at least once if you're in the area solid food, great atmosphere, and excellent service.

Stopped in here after I saw the new sign in the window that they had a lunch buffet. There's…read moredefinitely a part of me that misses pre-pandemic era when lunch buffets were common place and this place is only a few blocks from my office. I got there a little after 11:30. The sign said the buffet started at 11:30 but they weren't ready, so I had to wait a little bit. Not a big deal, especially when a place is trying something new. It gave me an opportunity to check out the space. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, it's a little over the top, with the decor pushing towards opulent but not in an overly stuffy way. The buffet was setup along the bar top, and it was clear they were still figuring it out. Instead of chafing dishes and sternos, they were using electric warming trays and setting out the cookware on top of them. Price wise, it's $20, which feels like the going rate these days (i.e. it's the same as Namaste). That being said, the smaller setup and the individually cooked items meant a way higher quality of food. There was a chicken curry, mushroom magic, a daal, chicken tikka, gulab jamun and a handful of other items including a fusion quesadilla with chicken and pieces of fried paneer. The curry was fine, nothing special. The daal (I think tadka?) was a little thinner than I prefer and a slightly over-seasoned, but was good even with the over seasoning. The mushroom magic was good, but the real spotlight was the chicken tikka. With everything being prepared in smaller batches than the stereotypical buffet, this was the moistest chicken tikka I ever had, and the texture and flavor far exceeded anything I would expect from a buffet. They did bring out fresh naan, but that felt like something they were doing since it was still new/slow, i.e. they had naan on the buffet line too. The only thing I would have liked would have beeen some achar, but I'm sure that puts me in a very small slice of potential customers. Definitely see myself coming back here, and ideally dragging along some of my coworkers. tl;dr; smaller buffet with incredible quality due

I would consider coming back to dine in with friends. The sliders were so good! My coworkers were not impressed by the looks due to the simple looking buns and American cheese but I can vouch that the taste was 5 stars. Check them out!

My friend got their house made lime soda. I tasted it and it was divine. Had I known it was not too sweet, I would have ordered it. My hot tea was....hot tea. For lunch, we split the Deviled "chicken," which was so good we couldn't stop eating it. We also had the fried yellow rice, which was very tasty. I ordered a side of the mango chutney, which was too spicy. I've never been served a really spicy chutney, but this place has it. We also got a side of the Kurukkan roti, which is a gluten free bread. This was unique and very flavorful. Overall, a great casual dining space, please note all the food is vegan. We will go again.

I'm a big fan of the "beef" rolls and all of the roti options but every single curry is to die for (and bonus: no one had to die for it to be made ). It's also a worker owned co-op with amazing ethical standards and inclusivity; they pay their employees a living wage without having exorbitant prices and don't even accept tips. I can't recommend this place higher. If you haven't been here, you have to try it!
