Vegetable Samosa
Alyssa L.

The food here was really good! I loved the samosas with the mint sauce, so delicious. And the Chicken Biryani was so flavorful! We got the bread basket and got to try all the kinds of Naan, incredible. I will say the staff was awkward and wasn't rude but wasn't necessarily kind either. We were the only people in there so it felt a little tense but the food helped us settle. Overall I would return and I would love to try more things like the Aloo Gobi Masala!

I came in here last week to drop off a flier and promised the hostess I was would return...I returned and it filled my heart to see the flier still standing. That alone shows integrity which society is falling short of now days. Less about the flier and more about the restaurant and meal. This place needs to be featured on Portland's Yelp for best Indian Cuisine in town. I sat and ate, and kept eating and kept eating. Upon entering, we were greeted by the warmest brown eyes and the meal was just as heartwarming. The atmosphere is so calming and it really made me feel some type of magic... I can't even put to words. I highly recommend the Samosa Chaat

Great for sharing!

Haveli is a treat. It's a great place to take a group, family or date because the more people you bring the more amazing food you can share. The madras curry (yellow in photo) with shrimp is my favorite but we love the vindaloo too. Also the butter chicken is delicious. You can't go wrong. Samosa chaat and mango lassi were so the perfect things to start with. The service is great. The restaurant smells so so good when you walk in. Try out Haveli! Also the circle booth was so fun to sit in! Thanks :)

Paneer Biryani

Great location in NobHill Portland. Food choice was pretty good and it was served fresh pretty quickly after ordering. Paneer biryani was really good taste and served with quantity. Our appetizer Gobi 65 was really good and tasty. We ordered Lahori Karahi Chicken with tandoori roti and it was pretty good taste. Overall pretty good meal for the price we paid.

Paneer Masala
Ankit P.

The Gobhi 65 was fresh, great quality and had a mild level of heat. The Paneer Masala was authentic, with a perfect balance of spice. We requested it spicy and we loved it. Also less creamy but very flavorful. Comes with rice The garlic naan was good, but for the price we felt like we should've gotten more. The ambiance is nice and clean. They have plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, with paneer, tofu and potatoes as a choice of filling. Worth a try!

Butter Chicken Lunch Special
Alex W.

The butter chicken lunch special was a good deal at $12 and plenty filling, but some of the chicken was pretty burnt and there wasn't a lot of pieces of chicken included.

Haveli is situated in the heart of Nob Hill and offers some comforting Indian food. The inside is modern and clean. The palak panner curry was decadent and flavorful. The rajasthani curry was new to me and had great spicy flavor, however, it came with a significantly smaller portion than the other curry, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, the waitress only gave us the option of medium or mild for our dishes(kinda odd), upon further research on the website you can order dishes as spicy or extra spicy, so just make sure to ask!

Gujar Halwa (tasty)
Cindy A.

After reading all the positive reviews for Haveli, I decided to order food from them via GrubHub today. The food arrived on time and nicely packaged. I ordered Aloo Gobi, Malai Kofta and for dessert Halwa (a favorite of mine). Unfortunately, the food was some of the worst Indian food I've ever tasted. Believe me when I tell you that I have eaten A LOT of Indian food. The Aloo Gobi came with peas which made me think they had some leftover Aloo Mutter and decided to just add some gobi to it. I have never seen peas in Aloo Gobi. The Malai Kofta was a pale yellow shade with an equally pale flavor. It was awful. In fairness, I did order everything MILD cuz my dining partner can't handle spice. But flavor and spice are not the same thing. A lack of heat should not mean a lack of flavor. The halwa was the tastiest thing ordered. It pains me to write negative reviews but this is how honesty works. There is far better Indian cuisine in the Portland area.

We eat here often and it's the best Indian food in the neighborhood! They always have the best naan and all the curries are amazing.

There's…read moredefinitely a part of me that misses pre-pandemic era when lunch buffets were common place and this place is only a few blocks from my office. I got there a little after 11:30. The sign said the buffet started at 11:30 but they weren't ready, so I had to wait a little bit. Not a big deal, especially when a place is trying something new. It gave me an opportunity to check out the space. Like a lot of Indian restaurants, it's a little over the top, with the decor pushing towards opulent but not in an overly stuffy way. The buffet was setup along the bar top, and it was clear they were still figuring it out. Instead of chafing dishes and sternos, they were using electric warming trays and setting out the cookware on top of them. Price wise, it's $20, which feels like the going rate these days (i.e. it's the same as Namaste). That being said, the smaller setup and the individually cooked items meant a way higher quality of food. There was a chicken curry, mushroom magic, a daal, chicken tikka, gulab jamun and a handful of other items including a fusion quesadilla with chicken and pieces of fried paneer. The curry was fine, nothing special. The daal (I think tadka?) was a little thinner than I prefer and a slightly over-seasoned, but was good even with the over seasoning. The mushroom magic was good, but the real spotlight was the chicken tikka. With everything being prepared in smaller batches than the stereotypical buffet, this was the moistest chicken tikka I ever had, and the texture and flavor far exceeded anything I would expect from a buffet. They did bring out fresh naan, but that felt like something they were doing since it was still new/slow, i.e. they had naan on the buffet line too. The only thing I would have liked would have beeen some achar, but I'm sure that puts me in a very small slice of potential customers. Definitely see myself coming back here, and ideally dragging along some of my coworkers. tl;dr; smaller buffet with incredible quality due

I would consider coming back to dine in with friends. The sliders were so good! My coworkers were not impressed by the looks due to the simple looking buns and American cheese but I can vouch that the taste was 5 stars. Check them out!

INSIDE FOOD HALL!!! My brother and I traveled to Portland for the first time for his birthday…read moreweekend. We were looking for birthday lunch. We didn't know what to expect with so little reviews at this place, but decided to give it a shot since all 9 reviews were 5 stars. We had the fish pakora, samosas, chicken vindaloo, and Chana masala. The food was amazing!!!!! He was so happy. The only one piece of feedback that I have for this place is that the chana masala could use some more flavor maybe more tomato sauce. All other items were amazing 10 out of 10. Beyond that the service was excellent. The man working at the front of the house was very nice to us. He switched out one item that I misunderstood at no cost. He also gave my brother a free birthday dessert The vibe of the whole place was very cute as well. Upstairs, there were games and a small café that we could sit at while we waited. We ended up working on a puzzle which was a good way to pass some time. We will definitely be back, especially since my brother is moving to Portland.

So soft and super stewed with flavor, juiciness and depth. It's definitely goat with some little bones here and there, but not goaty/musky. The pretty and petite lady chef whips up these thick and delicious curries, naan and dips. Friendly workers. Located in a small air conditioned foodcourt. Mango lassi is thick and very sweet. court
