We had front yard landscaping done, including installation of an irrigation system, several varieties of drought-tolerant plants, and the planting of a new Chinese Pinache tree, and every step of the process was seamless. Curtiss is highly knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and a pleasure to work with. The level of communication was refreshing, and Curt's Land Patrol truly lived up to their stated objective of "providing personal service with excellence." At every step, we had clear expectations, and Curtiss and his crew delivered exactly as promised. We were especially impressed by how quickly they were able to start the job. The quality of the work was top notch, and instead of dragging the project out for another month or two, they worked every day and had everything wrapped up in a couple of weeks. Their price was also very reasonable, and the payment schedule was fair: one installment around the halfway mark, after hauling away some hardscape/dirt, prep work, and irrigation installation, and the final payment once they had completed the job. Another thing that stood out was the complimentary 45-day weekly service, with on-site maintenance to make sure the plants are adjusting and the landscaping is solid. I grew up in a time when that level of care and follow-through was the norm, and it felt like old school landscaping service in the best way possible. At the risk of sounding like an ad campaign for Curt's Land Patrol, I can't recommend them enough. They will be our go-to landscaper as long as we are in San Diego. You're going to think this is a made up review. You'll be wrong. We passed on using the services of Curt's Land Patrol last fall when he had an opportunity. We decided to go with another company, and that was a mistake. The work the other company did wasn't that great, and the owner of that particular company really had no strong desire to return or even troubleshoot the issues. So, this summer, we called Curt's Land Patrol to fix those mistakes and then do the remainder of the yard. It really looks nice now! Curtis has been my gardener for the past 10 years. This is a rental property which I care about deeply, since it belonged to my grandmother before she passed. Curtis was always proactive with pointing out what needed to be done around the yard. The customer service alone is enough to give them 5 stars. They adjust and bend to fit my schedule as well as work w me as far as my dogs. Until I made a dog run, they would walk around the yard picking up all the poop before they mowed. I would always apologize for not having time to pick it up, but Curt would always tell me, "don't worry, we'll take care of it." Back in late summer, I looked at my back slope in horror as it was completely overgrown and so out of control it would have taken us months to clean up. I wish I could give a negative star rating! They had contracted semi-monthly maintenance with our condo community but over the last year of our contract, service has become terrible! My first encounter with Curtiss was when they were servicing our irrigation system. I had asked about the months of dying and dead bird of paradise leaves and he simply replies "What we do is what's in our contract, if you have concerns, talk to your management". Seeing as I was new on the board of directors, I brought it up in our next board meeting and requested a copy of our contract. Sure enough, in our contract it states: "2) Giant Bird of Paradise located inside of complex are to have dead/dying growth removed." Another small issue that had been discussed is that they had not been consistent with their service days and times. In our contract, our service day is Thursday in the afternoon. Over the past 8-9 months, they have been disturbing residence by arriving as early as 8am on different days of the week each month. This morning I called to discuss this with Curtiss. I asked nicely if they could include this service the next time they came to our property. He told me they will do what they can reach. Less than 5 minutes later, he called me back and said his next service will be their last! He is cancelling service to us because we require too much from his crew and he doesn't want to deal with any more of our issues!! I CANNOT believe it. All I asked was for them to fulfill their contract as they wrote it. I'm honestly confused as to why they would offer service to us and then be so rude and cancel our contract the minute we ask for them to perform as promised! Be wary... all we wanted was the service they had promised and we were dropped within 5 minutes from when we asked them to uphold their contract! read more

Curtiss and his crew provided complete exterior maintenance of my property for a six month deployment; when I came back the place looked better than when I left. There wasn't an errant weed or dirt around the property to be found.
