We went to this restaurant one Saturday after we were out and about to try it out because it is in the area where my parents live and we were out visiting them. I would like to tell you a little bit about my experience, but please understand that this is my experience, and only my experience. We walked into the restaurant, and we sat down in one of the booths, and when my wife and I sat, the whole seat, flipped up and almost fell, pushing us underneath the table. There were other people sitting at other parts of the booths, so we could not move the seats so you had to Scooch to the very end of the seats so that you were able to hit the tables because They were so far away. It just was not optimal at all. You really had to lean forward just in order to touch the tables at least the table we were sitting at. I know we were sitting there for a while, waiting for a waitress to come or a waiter to come, and Take our order and we realize finally that no one was coming. There is no sign for new people that tells people how this works you go when you sit down expecting to be waited on, but it does not work. That way you have to order at the counter and then pay right there. The gentleman that was taking our order was extremely friendly, and I will see that the service, and that aspect was extremely good. He was very attentive to what we were looking for and helped us to understand what we needed with our order. That's one of the reasons I feel like I would go back to this restaurant in the future. Now onto the food, the food was really good. It was a good size, but I'm not going to say it was huge either, but you also paid for what you purchased. My wife and I purchased two chicken bacon calzones two 12 oz sodas because you have to buy the sodas in the bottle so there's no refills and an order of fried mushrooms and it came to over $60 so it is very expensive as far as that goes. Before we left we asked for the slice of pizza was in for one slice of pizza It's three dollars. Unfortunately, this is one person that would not be getting a slice in that location. It's better to get a whole pie. Overall, my experience had a lot of different ups and downs, twist, and turns, peaks, and valleys but in the end I truly enjoyed my experience there even though it was a costly one. I've been a fan of Cusato's Pizza since I first had it back in the 90s in Albany. The business has split up and moved, then changed again several times. Finally I believe they have now sold it off to new owners. While I had a great relationship with the previous owners, I am still very happy to be a loyal customer, no matter where I have to go to get this pizza. They make one of the best white pizzas around, and the red sauce ain't no slouch either. My favorite is the white pie with chicken cutlet and broccoli. My one complaint is that they previously always chopped the broccoli very small for the pizza, and the newer locations do not do that. I just keep telling myself to remember to ask for the broccoli chopped up more when I order. Very friendly staff during my few trips here. I can't speak to any of their other items, as the pizza is all I have had from this newer location. Do yourself a flavor and try that white pizza I mentioned as a colossal! read more

From present the errors are as follows; (second attempt at delivery) "Spicy Garlic Parmesan" wings are swimming in oil and not the cream based dressing we expected, same order got an over cooked pizza with sparse toppings; last week missing 2liter cola included in "Dom's Special"; earlier we routinely criticized the topping density and consistency. Bone-in wings were no fun to eat... Cannoli were nothing to go for, the list goes on... If I could give it zero stars I would. We have given this place too many tries and have always been disappointed. Pizza is decent, sandwiches meh, fried Mac and cheese is the only thing worth getting. It's a local place so we tried to support them but when you order your food and it is never ready, 15-30 minutes longer every time it's ridiculous. Ordered delivery and had to pick it up myself and then when I called the delivery service "slice" they refunded the delivery and tip (remember I had to pick it up) and thought they were doing me a favor. When I called Cusato's direct he proceeded to tell me the girl from slice was "retarded." Are you for real? I'll be happy to support local businesses but no longer this place. This time the pizza was VERY over cooked (brown crust, dry chicken, etc) and the thing was drowning in ranch, as in ALL I could taste was ranch. I've now been to the Cusato's in Ballston Spa twice. Neither time was I very impressed. The first time I went in to order some to go. It took at least five minutes to order an appetizer and a personal pizza. It was like the people behind the counter had no idea what they were doing. Anyway, after ordering it took about 40 minutes for my order to be ready. It was a surprising long time considering it was 2pm and there was only one other person in there. When the food came the personal pizza tasted good, but about half of it was crust. I also ordered the loaded tots. Those were a little disappointing because "loaded" was a pretty loose term. I was expecting, well, more of everything. Last week I decided to give them another try. I ordered online and drove over 35 minutes later to pick up my meal. They didn't have any record of my order. Okay, sometimes technology fails us, so I went ahead and placed my order with the cashier. It went smoother than last time, but still a little similar. It appeared she wasn't use to the register. Anyway, I ordered two apps, a sandwich, and a personal pizza. The food was out in less than 30 minutes. The sandwich was a chicken salad with bacon and it was delicious. Like, seriously good. The zucchini sticks were also pretty good. The personal pizza was a complete disappointment again. All the toppings were in the center while there was at least two inches of crust on the outside. If the topping covered the pizza it would have been much better. I also tried the loaded tots again. I will never buy them from this restaurant again. There was almost no cheese at all and the bacon bits clearly came from a bag. It was like they found the cheapest bag of bacon bits they could and then proceeded to dump them all over my tots. We ordered food for delivery to our work. About an hr and half later I called to check on the food, girl who answered said it was on its way out now. Waited another 30 min and called again and spoke with a manager. He seemed annoyed by my calling and said it was on its way, he said the driver had to leave and get something and come back. I asked if our food was going to be cold and soggy he assured me it would not. When our food arrived, one persons burger was missing the lettuce and tomato and the chicken sandwich was soggy, and the chicken was so over cooked it was like trying to bite into jerky. I called and spoke with the manager again amd he said he would send a fresh one. Which he did quickly, however it had a small black curly hair on it. I called for a fix, they offered an in-store credit. They were unable to refund as a 3rd party service to process online orders. I will never order from here again due to the lack of quality, lack of prompt delivery and missing items. Very disappointed as I was looking for a new pizza place in town. Horrible customer service. We have consistently had to call to check on delivery orders that were 30 minutes to a few hours late, and have been told "It's just going into the oven" each time. The manager was rude and incompetent. While speaking to him about our delivery that was already 45 minutes late, he told us it would be another 45 minutes and then hung up on us mid-sentence. When we called back, we were told "So what I hung up on you. I'm busy." The food is very inconsistent - it can be good on some days but lately we have received burnt or cold pizza, burnt wings, and cold mozzarella sticks. Update 2: A week after we got the pizza with the tiny little balls of what were supposed to be sausage, we found out that it was not really sausage at all. The new owners changed all the products to non-pork to fit their religious beliefs. Okay, that's fine, but do not LIE to your customers about what you are selling them. We were even told they fired someone for telling a customer the truth about the products being changed. I think this is a sleezy and dishonest business practice, possibly illegal, to advertise sausage and pepperoni, etc. when that is not that you are serving. It's fraud! I'll never buy anything else from this place. Update: Recently this place has been taken over by new management. We ordered the sausage pizza, which we have been ordering for years and didn't even recognize it. Instead of large delicious pieces of sausage, there were now these TINY little tasteless pieces of sausage. The pizza got smaller and the sauce had that cheap taste that you get when you order a piece of pizza at a booth at the Great Escape. We are very sad and disappointed that while the size and ingredients of the pizza got smaller and cheaper, the price stayed the same. We didn't mind paying a higher price for good quality pizza, but the pizza down the street at I love NY Pizza is much cheaper and at least the sausage has taste to it. The only good thing I will say (for now), is that the boneless wings are pretty good. Hopefully they won't ruin them like they did to the pizza. We also liked the philly steak cheese and italian mix sub there. We first began noticing a problem around 6 months ago where sometimes we would get our pizza and it did not seem like it has cooked all the way. The crust would be incredibly soggy and falling apart. The first few times it happened, we chalked it up to having a new person being trained or being busy. As it seemed to happen more and more often, we finally said something to the owners. The issue never happened when the owners were there, but our comments ddn't seem to change anything. Pizzas began to be the soggy limp undercooked feeling crust almost every other time. We decided to try some other items. Their hamburgers and Phillysteak cheeses are good. Only complain is that at least twice, we called and ordered a phillysteak cheese ahead of time, yet when we arrived to pick it up were informed that they didn't have the roast beef meat, which then meant we had to order something else and and sit and for it to be prepared. Would it really have been too much trouble to have the person working there call back when they discovered they didn't have the item so we could change the order? The last time they lied and claimed they called, but no missed calls on the phone. The last time we were in there, we learned tat the restaurant had been sold and was now under new management. You would hope this would mean that things would improve, but the only difference we have noticed so far is that the expensive pizza had gotten much smaller. I would steer clear of this one. The quality is not consistent at all. Casing left on the deli meats and using old oil so fried products are disgusting and sometimes inedible. And it was one of the owners who was serving the food out of the old oil! Well, I read the other review posted before writing this. Maybe it is because the two times that we have visited this restaurant it was off hours, but I had 2 great experiences. The girl at the counter was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. The pizza was the best that we have had in this area. The crust was crispy and not burnt. The pieces were huge and the price was awesome--2 pieces and a soda for $6. We had salads too that were fresh and crispy. My second visit was for take out. My husband's French dip was really good and the roast beef sandwich I had with horseradish was very tasty. We also tried the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate cannoli. Cookie was exceptionally good. Definitely will be visiting again! read more
