We met some family here to watch a game. Nice venue with lots of choices. I ordered a Blue Moon and had to wait over 15 minutes to get it. I saw it sitting at the bar station at least 5 minutes before the server brought it to me. She was cleaning the tables. They definitely need more help. I won't be back. Ordered the nachos and wow. Extremely disappointed! They use Tostitos rounds for the chips which are thin and get mushy fast. On top of that they used bland, unseasoned chicken? Where is the flavor? Shredded cheese layered over the chips was skippy AND not melted. Probably some of the worst nachos I have ever had. We also each got entrees. I had the Philly which was ok. Why is this place so crowded? The food is mediocre at best, atmosphere is loud and uncomfortable, service is fair- though to the servers' credit they are over worked while the bartender tends an empty bar. Santa Fe wrap is bland and meager. Chicken blt has a generous amount of bacon but other than that dry chicken and nothing special. We did like to Buffalo chicken nachos but had a very slight Buffalo flavor to them. The bleu cheese dressing is the best part of the whole meal. My fiance and I went here for dinner from one recommendation out of many on a fb group. I see all these "one bad experience out of many good" one star reviews and it drives me crazy! This place was really good! I got the cheesesteak and it had a ton of flavor, he got the wings and for someone who says he'll never find "the best wing" said it came pretty close to number 1. Give this place a try if you get the chance, we have no complaints and will definitely go back for seconds. read more

I have been a patron of the Brickyard since they opened and was excited to try out their mother's day buffet. I made a reservation as suggested. my party included 7 adults and 6 children, 3 of them that required a highchair. When I originally made my reservation I asked if I should bring my portable highchair as I knew they only had 2 but was told that Ron was going to get more or the waitress I was speaking with was going to bring one she had purchased that attached to the chair. When I got my confirmation call on Saturday I double checked about the highchairs and was told "all good". When we arrived on Sunday morning we were brought to a high top table with 2 highchairs that were for a regular height table. when we asked how this was supposed to work all we were told was "sorry it's all we can do" when asked why we were not seated in the back at regular height table we were told there was not enough room for our party size, yet there was a table back there the exact size of ours. Luckily I brought my portable seat and asked about the chair that waitress had told me she was going to bring that attached to the chair and was told it wasn't brought because it wasn't needed. At this point I'm an extremely frustrated and angry. I'm speaking with Tracy, Rons wife, trying to figure out and understand how this seems to be ok with them as restaurant owners as well as parents of a young child and I asked her how she would feel if she were seated at a restaurant with their young child in this situation and her words to me were "I would of made sure before coming" I HAD 3 PREVIOUS CONVERSATIONS WITH THIS PLACE MAKING SURE THERE WERE ENOUGH HIGHCHAIRS, EVEN BRINGING MY OWN AFTER BEING TOLD WE WERE "ALL GOOD"! As stated before I have been a patron of this establishment celebrating birthdays, date nights, dinner with friends, football sundays and even togo lunches, but after this encounter I will not be visiting again. French Dip was on a soggy soft sub roll, they didn't even toast it, just roast beef on a sub roll w/ a side of normal brown gravy... ew. Another case of food poisoning from here (one other referenced in a prior review). My boyfriend, friend and I ate here together and all suffered disastrous bathroom effects. I had barely been eating the past few days, so I knew it was from here. The burgers were okay - fries pretty good - sweet potato fries terrible and not even worth $3 let alone $5.99. The choice of roll for the burger is reminiscent of the times living at home where when we were out of buns, used whatever bread was available. Aside from their use of a deep fryer for the fries, skip the trip and make burgers and oven baked fries for yourself at home. Tastes exactly the same, nothing unique about the burgers here. The service was great, nothing negative to say about the wait staff, just... maybe food safety protocol needs to be reviewed. read more

Surprised based on the crowd I always see here that this is not reviewed. Went in for a quick dinner, this review is bordering on 4 stars, but since we went for the food I will rate it more based on the food. Cool bar though. Food- 2.5 Stars. We got the special wings (tequila raspberry sauce), steamers, and a special quesadilla with all kinds of ingredients. Wings- too ambitious, flavor was weak and had no real bite. Cooked decently. Steamers were OK Quesadilla- also a little too ambitious and failed. Too many things going on and overall kinda muddled. The worst thing was the fries. They tasted like onion rings (change your damn fryer oil!!!!!!!) and were not a good product (small pieces). I don't understand why some places fail so hard on fries. Rest of menu seemed kinda scattered but mostly typical bar food. I won't go back with the main intention being eating. Atmosphere- 4 Stars. Really nice patio area. Nice inside with a centered bar and tables in front and in rear as well. Cool vaulted ceilings and brick wall. Service- 3.5 Stars. I love this place! Its my home away from home! Ron and Tracy go out of their way to provide a great experience and food. This is an above average beer and burger hang out. They have specials all the time and are constantly updating the menu. Tracy's sandwich is one of my favorites even though I can only manage to eat half! I disagree with others comments here to "just stick to the appetizers" because they have some great meals, my husband loves the BellyBuster Steak. Occasionally there is weekend entertainment which is selective and top notch. Bring back 3 Two Get Ready! Open Mic night just restarted so its a great way to unwind after a Monday on the patio, and they have Trivia night all with the awesome Mark Hersh! We went to Mothers Day Brunch this year and it was fantastic. All of the women in my family are still raving about the waffles and strawberries and I loved the Eggs Benedict! Since the loss of John Richmond running the kitchen the quality of the food has suffered tremendously. The lack of consistency and pride is evident with every bite that I was able to choke down. From the chili tasting like i was eating chili powder out of the bottle to the lack of molasses on the bacon in their signature burger. It is a sad story that what was once a reputable business that took pride in its food has slid to the bottom. Ron Manna should take some time off from feeding convicts and focus on reestablishing his reputation for quality food. Instead the convicts are probably eating better. read more

Met a friend here for dinner and we ended up staying all night. Variety of beers to choose from and the bartender was great about letting me try ones out with a small sample I was curious about before actually ordering. The Brickyard doesn't really excel in any particular area, but it's not bad, either. The food is OK. IThe menu is pretty typical bar food, and I've had a typical array of things from it. It was all servicable, but I probably wouldn't come here just to get the food. Beer selection isn't bad. Service is pretty good. Quick enough, and friendly enough. Prices are fair. If they were a little cheaper, I'd be inclined to stop by more often, but they're not outrageous by any means. The nicest things about the place is the setting. It's got a nice roomy bar, and a dining area with plenty of room. There is also an enclosed area outside that looks like it'd be very nice in conjunction with some pleasant weather. While it's not great at any one thing, the combination of adequacy in all areas, and a nice layout mean it's not a bad option for a place to have some drinks with pals. read more

Recently went there with my friends to order a few shots. Only 3 other customers in the place, One was on their way out and another was in the middle of a meal. Our bartender was chatting them up and mostly ignoring us outside of asking what would we like to drink. After our first shots, We had to wait about 15 mins for our next round and another 15 for our third and final one. So a majority of our time after ordering 70 dollars of drinks was waiting and being ignoring by our bartender despite repeated attempts to call her. She was rude, Very unfriendly and cost herself an easy 10 dollar tip. Last time I ever go to that bar and likewise for my friends. read more

I LOVE the location of this place, and I have been frequenting it with my kids OFTEN. They have a few servers that are great. The Blonde "bartender" who MUST be the owners girl friend has then most HORRIBLE personality She NEVER smiles, She is NEVER nice She complains OPENLY to other patrons about other guest, which, quite honestly is very un professional. the other girl with the shorter hair is VERY nice and happy. If the guy with the dark hair and mustache is the owner, WOW. he is not personable at ALL, If I had to venture a guess as to why this place is still in business, it is because that town "thinks" that is FINE dining. ., and even in my measly "State job" I know this. it is not a HAPPY place. and I will take my GE business to the Factory, I have NEVER had a problem with service there. I soo hope that when this place closes as did Manna's... maybe the cocky owner will learn a lesson. Raspberry Chicken wings ARE SUPERB. Management , well NOT so MUCH.. My husband and I went there for dinner last night. We ordered buffalo wings, fries, garlic bread and a burger. Everything tasted great except my husbands burger. He said he had the burger for lunch a few weeks ago and loved it so he was going to have it again. However his burger was way over cooked and dried out. My wings however were really good. The service was ok however I had trouble getting my soda refilled while eating. The waitress kept walking by our table without asking how we were doing or if she could get us anything. A word of advice: If you are in downtown Ballston Spa, don't visit the Brickyard. Every Thursday night myself and my husband and some friends go there to eat and play trivia. Which is usually fun and relaxing. Over the past 6 weeks we have been going we've had some problems with the service and food, and just recently starting telling the owner about it. Why would you pay for something that you are not happy with? But I guess that makes us "pain in the ass complainers, we only want free food, and the waitresses don't even want to wait on us anymore" (words from the owner) Let me further explain. Second week we were there my friend ordered chicken wings (bone in) and she got boneless which she didn't ask for. So she called the waitress over and explained and she sent them back and got the correct ones. Third week slow service we had to constantly flag down our waitress to refill our drinks, and another friend ordered cheesecake and it was hot. Who eats hot cheese cake. So again we called the waitress over explained and she took it back. When she came back she explained to us that they ran out of cheesecake and they took this one out of the freezer and stuck it in the microwave to warm it up. Why wouldn't they say "oh sorry we are currently out of cheesecake can we offer you something else?" Fifth week couldn't find our waitress so one of our friends went to the bar twice to get her drinks refilled. Waitress came to our table once after giving us are food to find out if we needed anything else and we were there for over 2 hours. Took 20 mins to get our bill once we did find her. So a few people at our table didn't give her a tip because of the terrible service. Sixth week (last night) friend ordered a salad which she does everytime we go the same one. Salad was wrong with the wrong dressing. Told waitress got an agrument. Went to the owner and told him and he took the salad off of her bill. Which was the right thing to do. When we found our waitress again and got our bills they added in gratuity which they ever did before. Why would I pay for crap service. But we paid it and left. Later on that night a phone called was made to the Brickyard and my fiend spoke to the owner and he explained that our table is a bunch of pain in the ass complainers and all we want is free food, and none of the waitresses want to wait on us. So she put her mother on the phone and he explained the same thing to her. Ok tell me why getting terrible service and wrong food makes us all of those listed above? Again why would you pay for something that you are not happy with? Oh and as far as the waitresses not wanting to wait on us don't worry Ron Manna we wont be returning. Chelsea is very good- no, excellent- bartender, but I wanted to give her a stick as I left so she could use it to beat off the other waitress that spent more time climbing behind the bar- getting right in Chelseas way- to close talk with her apparent-boyfriend, the cheery bearded bartender.. That dynamic was more interesting to watch than the games on the many flatscreens. (Get out of the way, I'm trying to work here!). On another occasion sat with kids in cozy couch table near the fireplace, great experience... so all in all, nice atmosphere, good drinks (like the Cucumber Southside), overall, good. read more

Meh. Nice beer selection in what could be a pleasant atmosphere, but during the Fall this place seems to cater to families with loud kids. Think Chucky Cheese with a bar. Food served in baskets and most of it looks like the usual frozen stuff that gets fried to cooked on site. The burger had a nice charred taste. Onion petals "a specialty" we're just over battered frozen product served elsewhere. If you just want average pub food and a drink, this place is "ok", but don't expect a lot more from their very large menu. read more
