CoreLife. We just wish they were not so expensive for the small portions of food they give. We wouldn't mind paying the prices if they had better portion sizes. With each bowl, the standard serving of chicken is a about 6-8 cubes or about 1/3 or maaaaybe one half of a small chicken breast. The flavor of their food is all delicious and it seems fresh and the establishment is clean enough. They use TONS of plastic and don't recycle, which is not cool. There is just so much waste, as they serve everything in plastic with plastic tops, even if dining in! I ordered the Thai Chicken bowl for dinner and I am going to go home to make something else because I am still hungry. Service was friendly. Once in a while they offer a coupon, which makes it more a bit more appealing. In fact, we probably won't go again without a coupon. It's convenient, but the food can be easily made at home. I've had mostly good service but at the Clifton Park store a few times treated very poorly as a customer. This last time I ordered 2 soup bowls and the person making it, seemed like a manager was just trying to get it over with and passed the bowl to another male who cut up the steak. It was a large bowl order when we sat down it was measley with the steak, I mean Pathetic. I went and told the guy and he said " I measured it out 3 ounces" I said no this is a large, I never seen such small amout and he just shooed me on my way...it was humiliating. When people come there to eat and expect a decent meal. You cut corners like that eventually you're going out of business The manager and the guy didn't care that I was very unhappy and also my friend. Server was mean as a rattle snake, even though there was no one else in line, she keep rushing us to order, because we refuse to be rushed she had a fit and started to grab food off our plate with her hands and throwing it on the trash. My sister had told me about CoreLife a few months ago, saying how they were moving eastward in New York. And now, here they are. I feel that if they can maintain this level of conscientiousness in their values, the quality of their food, and the way they treat their customers, they will have continued success over the next few years (until they get too big for their britches, which often happens to chains once they reach a certain size). It's really simple in its execution: good ingredients for bowls made to order, asking for your preferences every step of the way. Mix in a friendly staff and a pleasant dining area, and you've got a win. A beet juice infused fountain drink? Wow! My only concern is that if CoreLife does too well, it may take business away from other independent salad specialty restaurants in the Capital District, many of which I also frequent. Alexis, the GM, complained the whole time she cut up my chicken breast and told me it would be extra. Apparently the regular bowl only comes with 1 scoop of chicken. She charged me for an additional 6 scoops. My regular bowl cost over $28!! I went home and weighed the chicken I was given (5.8 oz). I could've eaten a steak dinner at a nice restaurant! As I was paying I asked for cilantro and she told me they were out for the night since she wanted to get rid of me. I could clearly see the cilantro in the cilantro bowl. This place was great when they opened and they are great now. During these difficult times, so many restaurants are lacking. I've made an effort to visit places I've really come to enjoy, and at most restaurants there is a clear and noticeable drop-off in quality and dining experience. Some of that is inevitable, and I don't fault these restaurants for situations that are beyond their control. CoreLife in Clifton Park is serving the same healthy and delicious food that they were serving before the pandemic. Their staff is still friendly and positive. The semi overpriced health food wave is here to stay! I get the appeal of CoreLife but the last two meals I had there were average at best. The portions could be better controlled. I feel like it's at the discretion of the person serving it. However, the lime jalapeño vinaigrette may make me return and the broths seem worth trying out. Plus, the freshly made drinks are delicious (try the beet lemonade!) The set up is similar to Blaze or Chipotle. Sit and stay away if your schedule allows-interior is modern and clean. The staff is friendly and will answer all of your questions. You can build your own salads, grain and warm rice bowls. A tip: Order ahead online and pick up. This was my first time here. The place looked amazing from the advertising I've seen everywhere. When I got there I asked for their recommendation and the one said spicy chicken rice bowl. So I got it as is. When I got home and opened it up it was nothing as it is stated on the app. I got some slaw instead of spinach. I did not get any rice nor falafel. I have been waiting with anticipation when the news broke that a healthy "clean eating" salad place was opening up in Clifton Park. What I didn't realize that this place was going to be the Chipotle of salad places: you pick your salad but then as you move through the line you pick from lots of choices for toppings so that you can customize your salad. CoreLife also has soups that they call "bowls" which remind me of pho but not quite the same. I had a spicy chicken salad that had sriracha sauce as well as lime cilantro salad dressing. There was a buckwheat pearl grain option as well as your normal brown rice, but I went with quinoa to up my protein. This salad was so good! Good looking bread and rolls, but I passed on those this time. I was beyond impressed that they had stainless steel cutlery and melamine bowls and trays, which meant that there were few disposables and a lot of re-use going on. I was totally thrilled when I realized that this was one of the few places that actually use real silverware in a fast casual setting. There was an array of teas and juices that looked freshly brewed and squeezed but I just stuck to water this time. Maybe next time I'll try some of the Ceylon iced tea. There is plenty of indoor seating, including tables and booths, as well as, outdoor tables with umbrellas. Despite only 14 Yelp reviews at the time of my visit, CoreLife Eatery was very busy at lunch. It isn't your quaint salad place and veers more toward a kind of upscale Panera but without the annoying table buzzers. I'm sure this place will aggravate some types who want a sandwich or burger. Love the concept, but the execution is lacking. Both visits I found the kale to be gritty. My companion found her kale to be gritty as well. When we complained to management no attempt was made to remedy the situation. Management just responded that it had been washed. Maybe it had been washed but kale needs extreme washing (like leeks do), so the second time it happened I didn't bother to complain but decided they lost my business. They do have a kids menu but to be honest I don't feel like many kids will find the choices appealing. Surely they can find more child friendly healthy options. I had heard good things about CoreLife from friends that like to try and eat healthy. I decided to check them out for a late lunch after running errands all morning. I wasn't sure what to expect but once inside it was kind of like a nice Chipoltes with a different theme. There was a decent sized line around the edge of the wall but it moved fairly quickly. While I was waiting I was able to check out the menu options they had posted on the wall. I decided to order the Tuna poke bowl but I wanted rice instead of salad. This confused the workers slightly since they weren't sure whether I ordered the Tuna poke bowl or the Spicy tuna poke bowl. I got all the toppings for the regular tuna, but the spicy normally comes with the red rice. The workers let me pick my toppings and dressing. They were a little heavy handed on the miso dressing imo but it was still tasty. I was kind of nervous about getting tuna from some place that was not a sushi joint. The quality was ok but nothing to right home about. All the other ingredients were very fresh though. I ordered the large bowl and wished I had ordered the small. The bowls are shallow and wide so I felt like I wasn't getting that big of a portion until I started eating and really had a hard time finishing the end of it. They also have a really interesting lemonade/ drink bar which I enjoyed. They offer grain bowls, browth bowls, salad bowls and kids options. It was a little pricey imo, around $15 but the portion was large and the quality of ingredients was worth it. I think CoreLife Eatery fits a very specific niche. Is it somewhere worth going out of your way to eat at? No, certainly not. Is it somewhere where you can get healthful food when you're nearby and/or don't want to cook? Absolutely. Everything on the menu is customizable and you've got a range of salad, rice, noodle, or soup bowls to choose from. There were three of us who ate for a bit over $30, so it's on the pricier side (the joy of fast casual dining), but I didn't hate myself for my food choices either...so, worth it. I had a Cobb salad, which is my usual low carb go-to (though you can customize anything on their menu). I feel like there are only so many things you can say about a Cobb salad, but here's what made me go from three stars to four: I don't like hard boiled eggs and always get my Cobb salads without egg. For the first time in my life, when I asked for no egg, the response I got was "what can we add in place of the egg?" I was shocked! Portions come in small or big and you also get an option to double your protein. All three of us enjoyed our meals; again, nothing SPECIAL, but real food that you don't feel bad about eating in a fast-casual setting makes it worthwhile. read more

Definitely a great place for some quick and healthy meals. There's something for everyone, kids menu included, and the employees are always super friendly. The food is certainly tasty but I feel like there's room for for some "boom" in the flavors. The menu seems large but there are a lot of repeat items that are presented in a slightly different form (i.e. salad vs grain bowl) so I feel like the menu could be more diverse, but since it's a chain I wouldn't expect any changes. Really impressed on food flavor freshness and portions on our 1st visit. Mostly happy and will return. A few not so great observations.. there was no line ahead of us when we entered and went to the counter. It still took forever to get from one end of the counter (near the menus to the register and to get cashed out). Every worker behind the line (6 I think) asked what we ordered and if we wanted it how it was normally made. It felt like groundhogs day. After we finally got thru the line and checked out - the silverware and condiments section was disgusting and filthy. There was food and stains in both "clean" fork and silverware bins. It was almost stomach turning. The lemonade and iced tea machines weren't much better the little lever you press your cup against to dispense the drinks were stained and coated with dark crud. The garbage area was filthy and had what seemed like hours of used trays, silverware and bowls at it even though the place was empty and it was past the typical dinner time rush. We will return and try this place again but it doesn't deserve the stars it should get base on these easy-to-fix unacceptable issues and yes, I did do the online survey to communicate these concerns. read more

The food is flavorful and much healthier than the alternatives. I also love the plates that they make for kids. When I've gone to other restaurants, my oldest son just wants a bunch of sides rather than an entree. The kids power plate at CoreLife is just that. I enjoy the 'build your own' green bowls, really allows me to add all that I wnt in the salad, for instance I really love Arugala and Mesclin greens, then I can add olives and carrots and tomatoes. I really like that they have pickled jalapenos, OMG they are soooo good. Total YUM for the salads. Also you have got to try their noodle bowls, hot or cold, both are very yummy. Those are all bonuses for this tribe. There were both low carb and paleo bowls. The manager was very nice. The young women at the counter were typical apathetic teens. Think of it as the coffee shop attitude. Do they need to smile? I guess not. Did it bother me? Not really. If teens working at minimum wage food service jobs are too perky, I get suspicious. :D Two things: The price is a little high.... but when I stop and think about it, fresh food is expensive. I would call it the real price of food. It's not as though the food is mysteriously processed with a chemistry set in a factory far away. It's vegetables and other things put together into a bowl format. Is it cheaper at home? Yes. Are you reading this review because you want to make it at home?
