Amazing food! Amazing service! Roomy atmosphere and totally worth the stop if visiting the town! My boyfriend and I came from Syracuse for the Evanescence concert and wanted to stop for a decent dinner. I got the Dizzy Chicken with Dizzy sauce with the Mac and cheese and collard greens, it was absolutely phenomenal! The chicken was moist and flavorful, Mac and cheese was extremely cheesy but not super heavy on the first bite, the collard greens had a nice kick to add to everything! My boyfriend got the ribs with cornbread and potatoes... the cornbread was moist and a perfect balance of sweet and savory. My boyfriend doesn't like a whole ton of sauce on his ribs but isn't one to say much about altering an order, but he said he had no complaints! With that known, I tried the ribs first and they were solid. To enumerate, the ribs were tender and had decent flavor. They weren't the best I've had, but they were enjoyable. Next, I tried the brisket which was slightly above average. To explain, the brisket was tender, but it was ridiculously thin and tasted different from other briskets I've had. After that, I sampled the macaroni and cheese which was very good. To make clear, it was very cheesy and had a nice bread crumb topping. I would say this was the best part of the meal. I recently had the opportunity to visit the Dizzy Chicken. It has a great varied menu of BBQ dishes and sides. Get directions from your GPS since it's in a spot where you could easily just pass right by it. Wanting a smaller option, I chose a buffalo chicken soup with a half pastrami reuben sandwich. The soup was superior but the reuben panini just didn't compare. Pastrami was fatty which a lot of people enjoy, but it wasn't my favorite. Did enjoy a virgin arnold palmer. But the soup was delicious. There is a small parking lot and picnic tables off the back of the building. The gentleman who took our order was ok but was the only apparent server working that day. Pre-track season you can get a table but I'm sure once the track opens it'll be very busy. Good food. Good location in Saratoga. Go enjoy. read more

The folks here were great! The server helped me safely navigate the menu and I was extremely satisfied with my meal. With my milk allergy, I discovered I couldn't get my favorite thing to get, pulled pork, because the sauce is made with butter. Total bummer, but the server confirmed that the spicy style bbq was milk free and the kitchen used that for my brisket instead of the usual sauce. I then added a side of braised cabbage because they put sour cream in their coleslaw. I have never had braised cabbage and I really liked it. I hope to find it on menus in the future. My 2nd side was sweet potato fries with Melba sauce. I never thought to eat them that way but the sweet made for a great balance to the spice. I ordered early for a certain time and my husband still had to wait 20 mins for our food and he said it was totally dead inside, nobody waiting everyone was just talking up front. My friend Bill Z had it right - the tenderness of the meat and the quality of the meat and sweet potato fries is super. And "hubs" (to quote another reviewer) said the beet and squash salad was "quite good". We were actually trying to find the Saratoga vegetarian restaurant we found a year ago which had a great apple and cheese sandwich, but when we couldn't, I went whole hog (sorry....) for the quarter ribs (3 thick ones) and a side of yummy pulled pork. Loved getting to have more to try by their offering small sizes like that! Their coconut ice cream custard should be corrected by omitting the word ice - it was really a small and tasty coconut cream pie in tart form. Came here based on a recommendation from a local (with high standards) and this place did not disappoint. The exterior of the restaurant is very unassuming. Had the vibe of a restaurant in the wild wild west. I thought the interior would be tiny but when I walked through the doors, the interior was a lot more spacious than I had imagined. I sat at the bar and went with their signature Dizzy 1/2 chicken with mac and cheese and fries for sides and asked the bartender for a beer recommendation. He offered me a beer that he claimed was the best on the planet. While I'm not sure it was the best I've had, it was very very good. My entree came out and I was shocked at how big the chicken was. The 1/2 chicken was literally the size of a whole chicken at other places. Maybe they did give me a whole chicken since it was a quiet night at the restaurant? Either way, I wasn't complaining. The chicken was easily one of the most juiciest chickens I had ever eaten and it was seasoned perfectly. The dizzy sauce was amazing and a sauce I had never really tasted before. I had anticipated the mac and cheese to be dry like most places serve, but not here. Definitely looked like they cooked to order because the mac and cheese was fresh and tasted great. The fries were cooked well-done to my liking and were fine. It was a lot of food to say the least and I definitely felt like I got WAY more than my money's worth. Greens n Beans- I read green beans when I ordered, honestly surprised because I really wanted collard greens! They were good, not as good as down south but still very good! 3. The corn bread, seemed basic and unassuming, but one bite and you realize it's fantastic!! I wish they sent a pad of butter, however my doctor would be happy they didn't! It really wasn't needed. 4. Roof Raiser BBQ dipping sauce was sweet and spicy, left a nice after bite! It was som much food I didn't think I would possibly be able to eat it, but I powered through! It was just over a year ago that I upped my rating to 5 stars for the Dizzy Chicken. It was based upon tasting their Prospect sandwich ($11.95). Tonight my wife ordered it and she concurred that it is an outstanding sandwich. Yes, it's a messy sandwich to eat, but Oh-So-Gooood! Slow smoked Black Angus beef brisket topped with a fried egg, crispy and thick house-made bacon, cheddar cheese (probably from Argyle Farm), and pickled red onions, all on a fresh brioche bun. Yum! My choice tonight was the Pulled pork Panini ($9.95). It was very good with its Sweet Love BBQ, Cajun spiced crispy onions and cheddar cheese, but I have to admit that I coveted my wife's Prospect. Being the wonderful spouse that she is, she offered to switch halfway through. Both sandwiches went well with our Pints of Cigar City Brewing Jai Alai IPA and Wolf Hollow Lock 9 Porter ($6 each). If you've never had a brew from Cigar City Brewing, you really need to seek it out. Their brews are excellent. I don't want to overlook that we started with Paulaner Beer Battered Argyle Cheddar Cheese Curds ($9.95) with a Melba sauce on the side. They are much lighter than the typical mozzarella sticks that are served elsewhere. You might want to try them with Dizzy sauce instead of the Melba. I like the sweetness of Melba and Dizzy Chicken serves a really nice Melba. Our service from Antonina was welcoming, friendly, patient, and efficient. Both sandwiches came with a teeny bag of Cape Cod chips. The atmosphere is casual but neat and bright. I loved the log decorated bar and although it wasn't turned on, the corner fireplace would be inviting in colder weather. The staff were friendly and efficient and approached us several times to update us on the service delay. We didn't enjoy waiting so long but it was nice that they cared enough to sincerely apologize. There's a full bar and a sandwich board outside saying they have a happy hour. The menu shows $8 and $9 glasses of wine but I didn't see how large the pour is nor did I study the choices. My husband came across Dizzy Chicken Barbecue when he was meeting a friend for lunch at another restaurant located next door. He brought the take-out menu home with him, and we decided to give it a try last night as we're keen on supporting local eateries. We order the Dizzy Chicken (whole chicken with two sides, $21.95), an order of the Angus Beef Brisket ($9.95), and Greens and Beans ($6.95). Total came to $43.00. The chicken, while tasty, was very small. Maybe 1.5x the size of a Cornish game hen. The potato salad was boring (chunks of potatoes with some mayonnaise - would have been much better if they had added their Dizzy sauce) and the coleslaw had an 'unusual' flavor that neither of us cared for at all. This meal, IMHO, should have cost no more than $15.00. At $2 per small slice of meat, the brisket was dry and had very little flavor. We think the place 'down the road' makes it much better and that's where we will get it in the future when we get a hankering for barbecue.
