On that street are shops and restaurants which you can access from either direction. The inn is nice and while I was here it was really quiet. The room was small, but it had easy access from a side door, so it was like having a private entrance. When I checked in, the guy at the front desk wasn't friendly or helpful at all, so it kind of dimmed my expectations but the lady who took over the day or so was extremely nice, so that kind of made up for it The breakfast was really nice too. You fill out an order form and the kitchen will make it for you and bring it to your table. The rooms only have Pluto TV, but I found a few favorites to watch. Oh and when I arrived, my room was like ice and the bathroom was even colder. It took a long time to heat up to an acceptable level, which was also a disappointment, even though it's a very old house, but eventually it got a little warmer.

My wife booked this place thinking it would be a good experience. There was no help with our luggage. I went inside to ask for help and the person over the counter "Marcus" goes "do you not see the bell carts outside?" After bringing in my bags I'm checking in I mentioned "I'm here to check in" and Marcus says "oh really? You don't say?.... I see you booked this last minute. Very interesting". At this point I'm disappointed with what we're experiencing so I try to just get the room keys and leave this old man to his misery. My wife and the kids decide to check out the heated pool before calling it a night, to their surprise, the pool is freezing cold. And the jacuzzi has a green discoloration and smells horrible. The next morning we grab some toast and make a waffle, the new guy over the counter is just staring at us doing nasty faces. Doesn't say good morning. Nothing. I'm not sure if there's something in the water or it's just a bad place to work, but the vibes here are very negative. If you have the opportunity to stay somewhere else, I would. On the main drag of S Hemlock, a short walk to a grocery store, Tolovana State Recreation Area, and the beach, as well as a few restaurants. The compound is a series of buildings with rooms that you enter from the outside. We were upstairs with our balcony overlooking the garden, which was nice. The day we checked in, the woman at the front desk was helpful, but for me, with a hearing deficit, she talked fast and I relied on my wife to interpret for me. No big deal, though. They offer cookies individually wrapped, which is a nice touch. In the lobby are tea and coffee. Our room had double queen beds, was clean, and had all the amenities: mini fridge, microwave, and hairdryer. Strangely, we found that our heater was on, and we had to investigate how to turn it off. There is no A/C, at least not that we saw. However, it does not seem to get hot there, so with the window open, not an issue. The bathroom had a small tub/shower but nice fan and great water pressure. The TV worked fine. The first morning, we checked out the complimentary breakfast. You have to walk across Surfcrest St into another compound called Lodges at Cannon Beach and back in the corner is the breakfast room (there is a sign that leads the way). However, we were not impressed. Except for the sausage, biscuits, muffins, and juice, we were not impressed. There were no scrambled eggs that morning, just hard boiled. I'm not a fan of biscuits and gravy. They don't have a waffle maker, so the waffles had been sitting out and, for us, not edible. Ultimately, we skipped the breakfast the next two mornings. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and tidying up our room each day. We appreciated that. Besides the unimpressive breakfast, I only had one other issue. About dusk the frogs start up in the pond at the center of the garden area where most rooms overlook. They are continuous and loud, so that we had to close the window to be able to sleep. There is a fan in the room, but we like fresh air and were unable to enjoy it. Overall, we were happy with the Inn At Cannon Beach.

Unfortunately, that was not our experience at the Inn at Cannon Beach. My husband checked us in around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. We had booked a four-night stay. Although there were no other guests waiting and three employees were behind the front desk, he was greeted with a curt, "How can I help you?" There was no hello, welcome, or smile. The check-in process felt cold and robotic, with none of the warmth we had experienced at every other property on our trip. After settling into our room, we returned a few minutes later to request the complimentary pass to the local gym. A different employee provided the information with little enthusiasm. She mentioned the gym was about a mile away. When I asked whether it was walkable, she replied, "I can do it." I wasn't asking whether someone could walk it--I wanted to know whether it was practical and safe for visitors unfamiliar with the area. We decided to explore on foot. The route followed a busy road with no sidewalks, something that would have been helpful to mention. We also encountered several large elk roaming near the road and decided it was wiser to turn back. My husband asked to speak with a manager and was directed to the front desk supervisor, who was the same employee who had given us the gym information. He explained that, based on our check-in and subsequent interactions, we did not feel welcome and would prefer to leave if we could receive a full refund. She responded with a perfunctory, "I'm sorry you feel that way," agreed to refund our stay, and that was the end of the conversation. There was no attempt to understand our concerns or ask whether anything could be done to improve our experience. We were disappointed that our first impression of Cannon Beach came from a hotel where we felt like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. For a nightly rate of $500+, we hoped for better service. Although we had to scramble to find accommodations during the busy summer season, we ultimately found another hotel where the hospitality matched everything we had come to appreciate throughout Oregon.

There was a basket in our room with a bag of treats, a clean water bowl, and a couple of towels, There was also a big sheet to toss on the bed, because dogs end up on the bed a lot. Great idea! We initially had to check in at the Inn at Cannon Beach about a mile down Hemlock Street where we were warmly greeted and given details about our stay, the surrounding area, and freshly baked cookies! The one bedroom Suites come with a designated parking spot, which is wonderful, but the spots are on the smaller side, so a sedan or compact car would be ideal. We had a comfortable stay, cozy linens and soft towels. Great water pressure in the walk-in shower. The oscillating pedestal fan in the bedroom was greatly appreciated, especially since A/C is not available. The kitchenette was stocked with the usual desirable appliances and utensils. The overall space was clean and the furniture well placed. Artwork of Oregon Lighthouses were on display throughout the Suite and fitting for their namesake, paying tribute to the state's history and acknowledging other coastal towns! The location of this small upscale Inn is very desirable even though it does not have an ocean view. Many great restaurants are within walking distance or no more than a mile away. Shopping for pleasure or essentials is also very convenient. We enjoyed taking a leisurely stroll to the beach and relishing in the sight of Haystack Rock! It has been a pleasure to converse with the staff of the Lighthouse Inn and we look forward to staying here again!

This used to be my go-to in Seaside, (and another hotel in Lincoln City), but not anymore. I have…read morestayed here countless times without issue until my last stay in October 2025. I have always used the same card to reserve my room, and for some reason the desk employee decided it was a good idea to run my card through again and again for a total of SIX times, only to have my bank tag it for fraud. This resulted in me having to call my bank several times, who eventually called Visa, both saying there wasn't a problem with my card or credit limit. The entire time the employee kept stating how he has been doing this for 30 years so it couldn't have been his fault. Not only would he not take responsibility for his recklessness, but he implied this was my fault somehow. This took hours to resolve, back and forth between the bank and the hotel, and I finally, reluctantly, used a different card. It's unnerving to have your credit card tagged for fraud because a desk clerk screwed up. I emailed Frank Hotels after this happened with no reply. Apparently, they don't care if they have an unhappy customer and a rude employee. Normally when there is something brought to management's attention you get a response, not so with this company. Hopefully others will not have the same problem, and as a side note, there are other Frank Hotels along the coast ... so beware.

I purposely reserved a ground floor because my 70 yr old husband has eyesight and balance issues due to a stroke, and I have bad knees, hips and I also currently have a broken toe. So when told a ground floor room was unavailable I was frustrated. We were put in a 3rd floor room with no elevator. I even told them about my broken toe and our issues with the stairs. But they told me again no ground room available. So for 3 days, 2 nights we had to climb up and down those 2 flights of stairs with great difficulty. And honestly we didn't go out an about as much as we had planned because of the stairs. It wasn't all bad, however. The room was decent, just a little dated. We had a nice view. The king bed was comfy and loaded with pillows. One minor thing that bugged me was that the time on the alarm clock and microwave was not set. The last thing I want to do on vacation is try to figure out how to set the alarm on an unfamiliar alarm clock. A small thing, I know. Just inconvenient. The breakfast was nice. Biscuits, Gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, pancakes, breads, cereals, yogurt, fruit, boiled eggs, juice, milk and more. And the cookies at 6pm in the lobby was nice. And when we were ready to leave we felt unsafe trying to pack our belongings down the stairs so they sent someone to haul it down for us. That was appreciated. The location is awesome!!!
