It is a couple hundred yards from the beach and walkable to everything in Seaside. Book through their website and not on Airbnb. This is an absolute must for anyone who loves the Oregon coast and who wants a taste of our true personality.

Then he said he was not the person to check in with. He gave us the email of the owner and he allowed us to stay in the room until we got checked in. We laid down on top of the bed just to rest a bit. Little did we know that someone else rented the room on line and the owner didn't respond to our email. She came back to the inn and rented us a remote room in another building. Our mistake was not checking out the room before hand and just taking it. It was an interesting two story old duplex. Old as in interesting and quirky. I loved that it had a kitchen and couldn't imagine what it was like to live there back in the day. Anyway the bedroom is upstairs - very steep short stairs and the only bathroom is downstairs. As I am of an age where I need to get up at least once a night to use the facilities, I didn't feel safe walking down the stairs half awake. Thank goodness the couch was very comfortable downstairs. While checking out the space there was a door across the hall from the bedroom about 2 feet above the ground. We opened the door and was surprised to see another bedroom - there was a little ladder inside that would have allowed an easy climb into the room. Breakfast was in the main building, just help yourself to drinks or wrapped bakery items. Also yogurt and other goodies.

On that street are shops and restaurants which you can access from either direction. The inn is nice and while I was here it was really quiet. The room was small, but it had easy access from a side door, so it was like having a private entrance. When I checked in, the guy at the front desk wasn't friendly or helpful at all, so it kind of dimmed my expectations but the lady who took over the day or so was extremely nice, so that kind of made up for it The breakfast was really nice too. You fill out an order form and the kitchen will make it for you and bring it to your table. The rooms only have Pluto TV, but I found a few favorites to watch. Oh and when I arrived, my room was like ice and the bathroom was even colder. It took a long time to heat up to an acceptable level, which was also a disappointment, even though it's a very old house, but eventually it got a little warmer.

Come to find out that Jeff started at the Metropolitan Steak House in Seattle. Him and I knew a lot of the same people from me going to the Met many many times over the years. Stay somewhere else!…read more Roadtripping down the Oregon coast we stopped in seaside to visit the aquarium and decided to stay the night. My wife booked this place thinking it would be a good experience. There was no help with our luggage. I went inside to ask for help and the person over the counter "Marcus" goes "do you not see the bell carts outside?" After bringing in my bags I'm checking in I mentioned "I'm here to check in" and Marcus says "oh really? You don't say?.... I see you booked this last minute. Very interesting". At this point I'm disappointed with what we're experiencing so I try to just get the room keys and leave this old man to his misery. My wife and the kids decide to check out the heated pool before calling it a night, to their surprise, the pool is freezing cold. And the jacuzzi has a green discoloration and smells horrible. The next morning we grab some toast and make a waffle, the new guy over the counter is just staring at us doing nasty faces. Doesn't say good morning. Nothing. I'm not sure if there's something in the water or it's just a bad place to work, but the vibes here are very negative. If you have the opportunity to stay somewhere else, I would. From one parent to another.

Unfortunately, that was not our experience at the Inn at Cannon Beach. My husband checked us in around 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 16. We had booked a four-night stay. Although there were no other guests waiting and three employees were behind the front desk, he was greeted with a curt, "How can I help you?" There was no hello, welcome, or smile. The check-in process felt cold and robotic, with none of the warmth we had experienced at every other property on our trip. After settling into our room, we returned a few minutes later to request the complimentary pass to the local gym. A different employee provided the information with little enthusiasm. She mentioned the gym was about a mile away. When I asked whether it was walkable, she replied, "I can do it." I wasn't asking whether someone could walk it--I wanted to know whether it was practical and safe for visitors unfamiliar with the area. We decided to explore on foot. The route followed a busy road with no sidewalks, something that would have been helpful to mention. We also encountered several large elk roaming near the road and decided it was wiser to turn back. My husband asked to speak with a manager and was directed to the front desk supervisor, who was the same employee who had given us the gym information. He explained that, based on our check-in and subsequent interactions, we did not feel welcome and would prefer to leave if we could receive a full refund. She responded with a perfunctory, "I'm sorry you feel that way," agreed to refund our stay, and that was the end of the conversation. There was no attempt to understand our concerns or ask whether anything could be done to improve our experience. We were disappointed that our first impression of Cannon Beach came from a hotel where we felt like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. For a nightly rate of $500+, we hoped for better service. Although we had to scramble to find accommodations during the busy summer season, we ultimately found another hotel where the hospitality matched everything we had come to appreciate throughout Oregon.

On the main drag of S Hemlock, a short walk to a grocery store, Tolovana State Recreation Area, and the beach, as well as a few restaurants. The compound is a series of buildings with rooms that you enter from the outside. We were upstairs with our balcony overlooking the garden, which was nice. The day we checked in, the woman at the front desk was helpful, but for me, with a hearing deficit, she talked fast and I relied on my wife to interpret for me. No big deal, though. They offer cookies individually wrapped, which is a nice touch. In the lobby are tea and coffee. Our room had double queen beds, was clean, and had all the amenities: mini fridge, microwave, and hairdryer. Strangely, we found that our heater was on, and we had to investigate how to turn it off. There is no A/C, at least not that we saw. However, it does not seem to get hot there, so with the window open, not an issue. The bathroom had a small tub/shower but nice fan and great water pressure. The TV worked fine. The first morning, we checked out the complimentary breakfast. You have to walk across Surfcrest St into another compound called Lodges at Cannon Beach and back in the corner is the breakfast room (there is a sign that leads the way). However, we were not impressed. Except for the sausage, biscuits, muffins, and juice, we were not impressed. There were no scrambled eggs that morning, just hard boiled. I'm not a fan of biscuits and gravy. They don't have a waffle maker, so the waffles had been sitting out and, for us, not edible. Ultimately, we skipped the breakfast the next two mornings. Housekeeping did a great job of cleaning and tidying up our room each day. We appreciated that. Besides the unimpressive breakfast, I only had one other issue. About dusk the frogs start up in the pond at the center of the garden area where most rooms overlook. They are continuous and loud, so that we had to close the window to be able to sleep. There is a fan in the room, but we like fresh air and were unable to enjoy it. Overall, we were happy with the Inn At Cannon Beach.

We initially had to check in at the Inn at Cannon Beach about a mile down Hemlock Street where we were warmly greeted and given details about our stay, the surrounding area, and freshly baked cookies! The one bedroom Suites come with a designated parking spot, which is wonderful, but the spots are on the smaller side, so a sedan or compact car would be ideal. We had a comfortable stay, cozy linens and soft towels. Great water pressure in the walk-in shower. The oscillating pedestal fan in the bedroom was greatly appreciated, especially since A/C is not available. The kitchenette was stocked with the usual desirable appliances and utensils. The overall space was clean and the furniture well placed. Artwork of Oregon Lighthouses were on display throughout the Suite and fitting for their namesake, paying tribute to the state's history and acknowledging other coastal towns! The location of this small upscale Inn is very desirable even though it does not have an ocean view. Many great restaurants are within walking distance or no more than a mile away. Shopping for pleasure or essentials is also very convenient. We enjoyed taking a leisurely stroll to the beach and relishing in the sight of Haystack Rock! It has been a pleasure to converse with the staff of the Lighthouse Inn and we look forward to staying here again!

This used to be my go-to in Seaside, (and another hotel in Lincoln City), but not anymore. I have…read morestayed here countless times without issue until my last stay in October 2025. I have always used the same card to reserve my room, and for some reason the desk employee decided it was a good idea to run my card through again and again for a total of SIX times, only to have my bank tag it for fraud. This resulted in me having to call my bank several times, who eventually called Visa, both saying there wasn't a problem with my card or credit limit. The entire time the employee kept stating how he has been doing this for 30 years so it couldn't have been his fault. Not only would he not take responsibility for his recklessness, but he implied this was my fault somehow. This took hours to resolve, back and forth between the bank and the hotel, and I finally, reluctantly, used a different card. It's unnerving to have your credit card tagged for fraud because a desk clerk screwed up. I emailed Frank Hotels after this happened with no reply. Apparently, they don't care if they have an unhappy customer and a rude employee. Normally when there is something brought to management's attention you get a response, not so with this company. Hopefully others will not have the same problem, and as a side note, there are other Frank Hotels along the coast ... so beware.

The biggest positive is the location. You can see the promenade and beach from the window, the room…read morelooks reasonably clean when you first walk in, and the beds are not actively hostile. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience felt like paying more than $300 a night to participate in a humidity endurance challenge. There is no air conditioning, and the windows open just enough to remind you that fresh air exists somewhere outside. We had to leave the room door open and crack the windows just to make the room remotely comfortable. At night, our options were: 1. Close everything and slowly become steamed vegetables. 2. Open the windows and listen to the promenade's nightlife until morning. The soundproofing appears to consist mainly of hope. The room was also "surface clean," meaning it looked fine until you started using your eyes. The walls and doors had visible grime, the bathroom caulking was peeling up in several places, and there was some kind of mysterious yellow residue running down the bathroom door. I do not know what it was, and I would like to return to a time when I had never seen it. The fireplace did not work, but it did successfully take up space. The Internet cuts out so frequently it isn't worth it trying to connect to it. The shower curtain seemed morally opposed to keeping water inside the shower. The water temperature offered two settings: arctic research station and lawsuit. The shampoo and conditioner also left my hair feeling like it had been punished for something. The toilet barely flushed. You had to stand there holding the handle and encouraging it like a nervous child at a school recital. "Come on, you can do it. Just a little more." For this price, I did not expect to have to provide emotional support to the plumbing. There also appeared to be possible black mold on the bathroom walls and shower curtain, which really completed the room's 'indoor swamp' aesthetic. The room description advertised a full-size refrigerator in the kitchenette. We spent some time wondering whether the full-size refrigerator was invisible. What we actually received was a mini fridge smaller than the one in my bedroom at home. The room was also advertised as sleeping five people. Where would the fifth person sleep? The bathtub? The nonworking fireplace? Suspended from the ceiling? We only had two people, and even then I would say the room could realistically accommodate a couple with two children or perhaps two couples. Advertising it for five people feels wildly optimistic. Then there was the price. We booked through Expedia for $211 per night and paid the deposit. When we arrived, the hotel charged us $315 per night. When we raised the issue, the response was essentially, "We have nothing to do with that." Apparently the hotel is involved enough with Expedia to accept the reservation, but not involved enough to care when the price suddenly increases by more than $100 per night. Had we known the actual price, we could have booked a much nicer hotel with luxuries such as air conditioning, clean doors, accurate room descriptions, and perhaps even a shower temperature located somewhere between freezing and boiling. I also texted the hotel several times asking for help and received no response. The silence was impressive. We will never stay here again. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had, and easily the most expensive opportunity I have had to sleep in a hot, humid room while listening to strangers outside.

When we showed up the Desk clerk said that they were sold out and it was because of an Elks convention. Big Doug and found one room that was not taken, but it was not ADA compliant. At this point we had no choice but to take it because we were already there and it was too late to book elsewhere. I had a hard time with this room because it had a step over tub to take a shower, a toilet that was mounted low on the floor that was hard to get up from and the pressure of the shower was a fire hose and was not adjustable. The sinks outside the bathroom to wash your hands. The water got so hot. It burned my hands. I have neuropathy in my hands so for that to happen, it had to be incredibly hot. The microwave door was broken. We put something in it and could not open the door back up. They said maintenance to our room, which I have to say arrived quickly, but he forced the door open and said it had a child block on it. When he left, we tried to open it, and it wouldn't open i again. So are cup of water we were heating stayed with the room. This room was also above the pool. Between the party and the kids screaming in the pool till late at night we could not have our slider door open. It was way too loud. They booked the Elks convention in the two rooms next to us. They were screaming and hollering and partying till 1230 at night finally by 1 AM. People left and we could try to get some sleep. We complained about the noise in the front desk clerk, her name was Jennifer and was a delight, so she found an additional room that we could use because the one that we were in was already booked to somebody else the next day. We moved one floor up, but it was directly above the party. Still noisy, still fleet and was not appreciated one bit. The next day we checked out. I will not stay here again. If Jennifer hadn't been so helpful, we would've demanded our money back. So kudos to her and i to Ebb Tide!
