This school has been such an important part of our family's life, and we could not have asked for a better place for our children to learn, grow, and be cared for. What makes Primrose of West Allen truly special is its people and its culture. Shannan and Andrew lead from the top down, and their commitment to the children, families, and staff is reflected throughout the entire school. They have created something that feels much more like a family and community than simply a preschool. Perhaps the best reflection of that culture is that their staff includes three generations of teachers from the same family -- a mother, daughter, and granddaughter. That says so much about the kind of environment they have built. The leadership team -- Ms. Vidisha, Ms. Eylin, Ms. Jessica, and Ms. Leslie -- is exceptional. They know the children and families personally, are always approachable, and genuinely care. Most importantly, we want to thank all the wonderful teachers who have taught, cared for, and loved both of our kids over these five years. There have been so many amazing teachers along the way, and we are incredibly grateful to every one of them for the role they have played in our children's lives. As parents, there is nothing more reassuring than dropping your children off knowing they are safe, happy, loved, and surrounded by people who truly care about them. We will genuinely miss Primrose of West Allen and, most importantly, the people who make it so special. But they work with the kids and my kiddo learns so much with each new class. My child is genuinely excited to see the little friends that have been made! If you do come across a concern staff takes you seriously, and it is resolved. They are always friendly to the grandparents that pick up my kiddo too, and know who they are.

As you can imagine it is not the most ideal (is it ever?) to send a newborn to daycare. They have exceeded my expectations in every way. Every single employee is so pleasant to talk to. Their communication has been seamless. I am not able to physically meet her teachers, but we have had zoom calls and they have an amazing app that they send constant pictures and videos throughout the day. They do such a fantastic job at trying to figure out this whole new norm we are living in. Most importantly you can tell they loveeeeeee the kiddos. Genuinely love and are happy. I toured quite a few daycares and you can tell when employees are not happy. I could ramble on about all the great things, but you get the point. I now present to educators across TX on social emotional skills in children. I'm saying this for two reasons- one, because my career has mad me EXTREMELY picky about who I trust my child with. And two- because I have witnessed good and bad teachers and facilities both as an educator AND a mom. My son goes to Goddard full time in the summer. I've been incredibly impressed by the staff's ability to be both professional and personable at the same time. My son has ADHD, along with a few gross motor delays- and can be a handful. His teachers understand what is developmentally appropriate behavior, and how to support his growth moving forward. This has been rare for us and is appreciated in educators working with my son. He is constantly engaged and happy when I pick him up. The teachers are always monitoring and engaged with the children when I arrive. And their photos are a treat! I'm not sure what the enrollment is like in the school year, but for my son, his class numbers seem really low. I am thankful to have found a place I trust my son to be in. When I was just a few months pregnant, I made a spreadsheet of local daycares in anticipation for…read moreenrolling my son after my maternity leave ended. After calling over a dozen daycares in the area, only two stood out as worthy of a visit. Our visit at the first daycare was fine enough, but after we left the second daycare - The Goddard School - I immediately drove home and filled out the paperwork to get my still-in-utero son enrolled. I haven't had a single regret since my son started as a 3-month-old. He's 22 months now and can count to 10, name basic shapes and colors, and make sounds for countless animals. He cleans up like a champ and says please and thank you. He loves books and spends most of his time at home reading. I won't give Goddard ALL the credit - I do some things as his parent, of course - but it's a relief knowing that they're teaching him the same concepts and reenforcing the manners we practice at home. Like many daycares nowadays, they do send out updates on each child's day via an app, so at the end of the day I can see what my son ate, how long he napped, when his diaper was changed, the activities he participated in, and a few photos of what he did. And I love that they teach community involvement by participating in programs such as Fill The Bus and the ACO Food Drive. They also have monthly Parents' Night Out and frequent cookouts and festivals. The school is always clean and one of the two owners are on-site the entire time the school is open. I recommend them to everyone!

Anyways as I get there the front desk lady immediately begins to print out emails to show me which I didn't understand why and then I proceed with asking questions about cloth and ratio in the class and let them know my son was in the process of being tested for Autism. Well not only was I told cloth diapers are not permitted ( which I was willing to switch to disposable if needed) but I was also now told that now they didn't have full time availability anymore. Along with a paper that they printed for me that had other daycare numbers that they said would fit more for my child's needs. Julie the director also proceeded to tell me that maybe I should look into the public school system and try to get him in their as soon as I can. ( my son is 2 1/2 years old ) I was also asked where do I live which to me that's totally irrelevant to all this. The only thing I got from this experience was they now didn't have availability because my son is non verbal and in line for being tested for Autism. How sad that I had to go to my car and cry that my son was being rejected because of his needs after dealing with this suppose Christian facility. They have lesson plans that incorporate activities that are engaging, hands-on, designed to teach children with fun aspects. They offer Individual attention to the child and we appreciate the quality of care provided by the loving, highly qualified teachers and the small class ratios lending to individualized attention. At the end of each school day, we get a note from the teachers that details what the child ate, diapers changed, nap time, activities enjoyed, and how they felt during the day. The teachers also provide a personalized note that summarizes the child's activities and behaviors during the day. Glad my child had the opportunity to go here!
