I own a restored classic car that needs very special attention when installing audio and alarm considerations to provide all the elements of today while still looking like a stock 1962 Chevy Impala. Eric installed a custom audio system that incorporated amplifiers, sub-woofers, speakers, equalizer etc....as well as a great security system that pages me if anyone touches the vehicle or attempts of tow it. When you see someone consistently getting 5 star reviews on Yelp you know it's going to be a sure thing...and this was no exception. Eric is great. I called him up and asked if I could stop by to install a powered mobile phone mount in my one day old new Lexus RX 450h. When I came by Eric checked it out and even though he hasn't worked on a 2013 model before he figured out both the mount (without instructions) and found the best place to hard wire in the power based on where I wanted it installed. I called ahead to make a Monday appointment with Eric to get my remote start fixed along with my trunk release. Like every other shop, he promises to call 30 minutes prior to remind me. Like every other shop, the day came he forgets. I just came anyway. "Somehow, I thought your appointment was the day after"- pshhh nice excuse bro. *cough* I had to wait a whole 30 minutes before he got done helping this girl's Honda prelude. This place seems to attract a lot of customers because while I was waiting, another guy came with his IS250 and had to wait as well. When it was my turn, Eric took a look at at remote start system and my trunk release. It turns out, I need a new transponder and a new trunk pop motor. Okay he did not have a transponder right away so had to reschedule for Wednesday. I gave him $60 deposit, he jotted down some notes, off I go. Wednesday, here I am, his Latino partner worked on my alarm, while he did the trunk. Meanwhile, more customers came to wait. Great. All in all, the job was done, I paid $160 for the trunk motor, transponder kit, and labor. The work is lifetime warranty, meaning if it fails due to poor installations, I can always come back to have them check it out. 1 year warranty on the parts. We shook hands and parted ways. 5 stars for being an Asian bro, and a nice guy, not jackasses like most guys who work on cars. I will return. read more

Before I scheduled an appointment, I spoke with Eric over the phone and explained to him what I was looking for. He didn't try to upsell me the most expensive equipment, was courteous over the phone, and did everything to answer all of my questions. He noted to make sure that he got the year, make and model of the car before we starting talking about what hardware to install. The day of the install, he went over my choices one more time. He made sure that everything that I needed was included (I also asked for a starter kill). It took a couple hours, and when it was done, he sat with me to explain all of the features, what to do in certain instances, etc. In other words, he took the time to explain EVERYTHING. I went here twice for getting car audio done. The first time I got myself a custom bottom piece and got my amps re-screwed onto the back seats of my car. This time Eric screwed them on in the right place so they wouldn't fall off, unlike the last place I had been to just down the street that didn't really follow up with their warranty. The second time I had him build a custom box and hook up my new setup for another car, and everything went perfect but I had a broken sub. This was unfortunate but Eric helped me out through the process and I ended up just sticking my old sub into the new car and I haven't been back even though he told me if I brought in a new sub he would swap it in for me free of charge. What I thought would be a simple procedure appeared to have its slight hiccups. In most cases I would worry. Price quote is almost triple than I expect. I read all the online 5 stars comments that make me have a hope that I can get a new pair of speaker right now right away. BUT here is the NUMBER talk: I got a quote for 400 dollars for front and rear spreaders. That is too much while I can get it done in Frys for around $100. $50 for installation, $56 for a pair of speakers. They are not cheap, instead, Frys is real cheap. But we need to wait 2 weeks for the installation appointment. My car is small economy car. I would not be getting a super high quality speaker. read more

Best people/business I ever worked with! Now, I am convinced that all of the 5* reviews for this business are well deserved! My Lexus SC430 radio stopped working. I found Eric and his shop from Yelp and brought my car in. Eric and Pablo helped to diagnose the problem: the radio, not anything else, has issue. Eric suggested to buy a radio on Ebay since fixing it might be costly. He offered to look on Ebay and purchase one for me. Eric was out to Vegas that weekend to celebrate his birthday. He called me from there to let me know that he found a unit and talked to the seller to confirm that it's the right one and also, to learn about the return policy. (Wow, that's a GREAT customer service!) I purchased the unit. Unfortunately, the CD changer didn't work. Eric called the seller to let him know. Then, I found another unit on Ebay and Eric drove up to Fremont to pick it up and paid for it! (This is beyond what I expect from any business!) Again, the unit has some issue and was returned to the seller. The third radio was purchased and like the 1st one, the CD changer didn't work and therefore, it was also returned to the seller. Finally, I decided to keep the 1st radio and Eric helped to contact the seller to offer much less since only the radio part was working. Through out all of this, Eric and Pablo were so patient swapping different radio units and trying to fix them for me... I am amazed by Eric: how genuine and nice he was. He went out of his way to help his customers. While I was in the shop several times, I saw so many happy customers coming in to pick up their cars. If I could, I would give Eric, Pablo and this business 10*! I'll come back if I need an alarm or radio for my car and WILL definitely recommend Eric and his shop to people that I know. Hello Everyone, I am writing this review to share the great experience I had with Custom Car Audio. I have a classic 1954 Chevy truck that just recently got restored and it was heading to the upholstery shop that day. I stopped in to get some ideas of what can be done for a stereo and that it is when I met Eric. Eric is very knowledgable and honest person. He gave me different ideas and options but, what impressed me the most was his desire to do things right! He made the statement of "Having a game plan", he did not want to just throw things together, make some money, and send me on my way. As I mentioned, my truck was on its way to the upholstery shop so, I needed my audio system completed that day. Not only did Eric come up with a great solution but, he fabricated custom speaker boxes, Pablo and Eric installed the system, optimized the sound, completed it without chopping up my truck, and finished it thirty minutes ahead of schedule. This is a very clean shop. It is very well organized and the customer service is second to none! Will I come back to see Eric and Pablo for my next car audio needs? Absolutely!!! Called Eric for an alarm and two power locks on my pickup (about 11 am from work) told him I wouldn't be able to make it until after 5:30 pm otherwise I would of had to do it on the weekend. He said to come down anytime and he would be happy to help me. When I showed up about 7 pm, the gate was closed but Eric gave me the code to get in. Another gentlemen was there getting some work done to his truck as well. I patiently smoked a cigarette and talked on my cell phone outside when one of the dudes came up to me and said "We'll be with you in a few seconds." I told him to take his time and that it wasn't a problem. As I waited for them to finish the guys truck, Eric came over and showed me my new alarm system and how it works. He asked if I had any questions or concerns etc. I waited a bit longer, checked out Erics whip (Things hella dope!) and walked round the lot. After a bit of waiting they started on my truck which took roughly an hour if that and was very fast! After they were done we noticed my passenger side door-lock wasn't engaging fully when arming the alarm. He explained, (and we all agreed) that its most likely just some dirt inside the door and needed to be hit with some WD-40. However, after about half a squirt they ran out LOL. Oh well, so he left the window roller arm off so I could troubleshoot it when I got home (Since I don't have the special tool). He explained that if I can't figure it out myself to bring it back and he'll take a look at it. All in all I was very pleased with the service. Everything was done how I wanted it. Eric and his partner were very professional and courteous. My truck is fine and I couldn't be happier with my installation! I will probably be calling E soon to get some slaps installed. 5 *'s all day. read more

The short: Eric Is knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Your time and money is well spent at Custom Car Audio. His prices are incredibly fair and you can't get better service anywhere else. I've been to CCA a few times and Eric has exceeded expectations every time. Most recently, I went in to have Eric take a look at my stereo that wasn't turning on. We identified issues that needed to be resolved as well as what I wanted done to the car. Eric seen me on very short notice which was good for me because I wanted to handle this asap. He was booked for almost a week and half but still made time to see me which is totally awesome. The previous owner made a mess of the cables and wires and it was a lot for Eric to clean up. That's where I'd commend him because it wasn't straight forward and he had his work cut out for him but he still finished FAST. At the end, he got my stereo operational, installed a steering wheel control module, a back up camera, removed all excess wires, and fixed the poor wire connections made from the previous owner. Replacing speakers in an older vehicle like a 1989 Toyota Supra can seem a daunting task (aka, pain in the ass) to most, but not for Eric. Just to get to the speakers, most everything needs to come off the doors and the rear cargo area (removal of rear and side plastic interior panels, etc.) - and the rear seat needs to be removed. All this removal is no easy task ...check out the photos. Eric researched and recommended the best speakers to deliver crisp, clean sound and to fit the physical constraints so that no visible rework was required to the interior trim. The new Pioneer receiver and Alpine speakers he installed are working perfectly and the interior is reassembled just as it was when the car was dropped off. About a year ago, I took my Genesis into Eric's Custom Car Audio. I had Eric install a double din Pioneer deck along w/ a back up camera. Installation was clean and professional. The kit Eric picked out for the Pioneer made it look like a factory install!!! Very impressed!!! We encountered a strange issue concerning the steering wheel controls not working properly... but Eric was extremely patient and we discovered that the SWC module required a firmware update to work properly w/ my deck. Fast forward one year later... My back up camera picture was periodically flipping the image upside down?!?! I contacted the camera manufacturer, who advised me that it was probably a pinched wire. So I contacted Eric and without hesitation he told me to bring my car back. He located the wires and confirmed there was no pinching or shorting in the wires. He bundled the wires neatly back w/ a zip tie and reassembled my car within mins. He also didn't charge me a dime... My backup camera stopped flipping the image as soon as I called Eric... go figure... so we couldn't duplicate the issue, and the glitch hasn't returned. I really appreciated how Eric wanted to see for himself if there was any issue w/ his installation (which there wasn't) and how he didn't hesitate to help me a whole year after initial installation. I've always wanted to have a go-to-guy when it comes to car audio... Somewhere I would feel "fair" spending my hard earned money... Truth be told! Erick will tell you straight up that he can't match online pricing. You have to choose to get items from him with lifetime labor and assist you with shipping faulty items or buying online and dealing with the items yourself. I always wanted to avoid the headache so I went for his recommendation. If you know something about car audio, it's a plus. But if you don't, don't bother try to "do-it-yourself" 'coz you will mess things up I promise. Best advice I can give. Know what you really want AND stay in your budget! Car audio is not cheap.
