I recently bought an Infiniti FX35 and wanted to put in an ipod adapter to work with my stock system. I happened to come across Eric and his shop on Craigslist. He was very prompt in emailing me back and telling me the exact model and part he was offering along with a site to visit to read up on it. When it comes to their knowledge and expertise on alarms, remote starts, audio systems...almost anything electrical or technical they know first hand and can do it. Recently I i got a ton of work done to my truck (suspension lift, body lift, leveling kit, 35in mudder tires, black rims, running boards, dual flowmaster exhaust ect) and Ive noticed its been getting a lot of both wanted and unwanted attention. I felt it was time for an alarm just to be safe. I came here and spoke with Pablo and he showed me the different options that would work for my truck and the differences in those options. He was knowledgeable and very professional. I ended up getting a combo Viper alarm and remote start. The price was bar none the best. They are very competitive when it comes to pricing in order to beat out their competition. The fact that he gave me different options and gave me the pros and cons of them and what was the best for my money was awesome. The staff was awesome and they did a great job installing it. The shop closes at 7pm but I couldnt leave work until 7:30 so they waited until 8pm for me to pick up my truck. I truely appreciate them giving up their time to wait for me. That was not expected of them and they did it. Once I arrived at the shop Pablo took about 15-20 minutes extra to show me how everything worked and what all they installed. All around genuine customer service and I will definently be going back there the next time I need something installed. I purchased a daily driver, 1995 Civic Hatchback, about a year ago. As soon as I got home I started researching for the best place to instal a car alarm, these cars are easily stolen. Custom Car Audio had the best reviews. I gave them a call and set up an appointment for the installation. He even gave me a quote over the phone. As soon as I arrived Eric was there and began the installation. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He allowed me to sit and watch as he did his job. I needed to have a dash cam installed and found the great reviews of Custom Car Audio on Yelp. I mounted the dash cam on the windshield myself to ensure it was behind the rear view mirror with respect to my viewing angle and wouldn't obscure my view. Eric did the rest of the installation expertly and quickly (45 mins) and for a reasonable price ($55 including a needed part). The wire is completely hidden, and is on a separate circuit, leaving the cigarette lighter free for a phone charger. Amazingly Honest and Professional is how I would describe Eric and Custom Auto. My Lexus DVD player stopped working over 6 months ago. My 3 young ones were pretty disappointed since it was their primary source of entertainment in the car. We tried to self diagnose but were unable to put a DVD in or eject a DVD out. We then took it to our regular mechanic and he was unable to diagnose it either. He does not know how to fix DVD players or electronics in the car. I then turned to Yelp and really had trouble finding a shop that services DVDs. Either the shops were straight auto repair or DVD/ stereo installation shops. I needed a bit of both. I wanted to see if my car DVD was salvageable before I went ahead and put a brand new DVD in. I went through numerous reviews on Yelp and reviews on Custom Audio stood out. Numerous men and women praise Eric for his honesty, professionalism, and affordability which are 3 key things I look for in a business. I am happy to report to the YELP community that all these things are true! I went in today thinking that I may have to spend hundreds on a new system or a lot to fix the old one. Eric told me he will figure out what was wrong with the current DVD before suggesting to purchase a new one. I waited 10 minutes before he magically got my DVD working again. I couldn't believe it! It turned out that my old DVD of my daughter's birthday was stuck in there. The reason it was stuck was that it was a copy with a cropped on picture cover. It was thick and expanded inside the DVD and heat made it virtually impossible to eject it. That was why we were unable to eject anything nor to input a new DVD. I was not aware of what the issue was and am so fortunate that it was just a minor problem. Eric tested the play button on his own DVD and was able to eject it easily from my DVD player. So my DVD player is officially working! He advised me to not use a DVD with a slapped on graphics in the player. Original DVDs were ok as well as copy DVDs without printed graphics. I was extremely happy that he was honest enough to actually fix the DVD instead of telling me I needed a new one. He could have made a fair amount of money by selling me a new unit plus installation. His ethics and honesty really won me over. On top of that, I tried to pay him for the repair but he refused to take payment! Thank you Eric for everything. I want to update my previous review. While upgrading my 4runner to a dual battery system i had an issue where the starter was not engaging. HAPPY CUSTOMER! I found this place by accident looking through Craigslist because I was getting tired of getting my car broken into. So I decided to get an alarm. Eric was very helpful in explaining what he thinks we may need on the car but we decided to go with the basic alarm and keyless entry. I was thinking I may need to stay here for at least two hours as my other car, I had to stay for about 2.5 hours for the employees at Frys to get my car done. He got the car done in a matter of about 45 minutes and made sure everything is working as it is supposed to. I had an appointment today, 09/19/2017 to have an aftermarket radio/cd/digital media player installed in my 2009 Camry. I also wanted the steering wheel controls to be able to operate the similar functions on the new stereo. There were some unforeseen difficulties, but Eric didn't get flustered. He just figured out what the problem was and found a way to get the job done. It took a little while longer than originally planned, but now everything is hooked up, my new stereo sounds awesome and looks as if it came from the factory that way. Like many others, I found this place on Yelp. Stopped by to get a sub and 2 amps connected. Called when they opened to try to get an appointment the same day (Saturday) and they were able to fit me in 2 hours later, so far so good! Once I got here, I spoke with the owner and explained that the the previous installers (Geek Squad...yeah...I know...) had done a horrible job with the install and wanted him to basically re-do the wiring and install a bracket to keep the 12" sub enclosure from sliding around in my trunk. About an hour later the install was finished and they had even re-routed the cables to make the install look super-clean. The price for the install was excellent and in the decades I've been dealing with various car audio shops, they rank right up there at the top. I'll be seeing them again for a few of my other cars. read more
