Today was my first time at custom cuts barber shop. I have to be honest, it was one of best, if not the best hair cut I have ever gotten. Tim the shop owner cut my hair. He was extremely professional and friendly. His attention to detail reflect on his experience at his craft. The atmosphere was really relaxing and "old school cool". I found this place about a month ago when my other usual place up the street was closed early. Fortunately for me, and unfortunately for the other place, I drove down the street and found Custom Cuts Barber Shop. I can say with confidence, that I have found my new barber shop and everything about the place is amazing. First thing that stood out was the decor. It's not your typical barber shop with photos of people in various haircuts. Instead, when you walk in, you see local artwork on the walls. It is akin to walking into a tattoo parlor. Also, the facility is spotless and very clean giving patrons a sense that they are walking into a quality establishment. Second, the people working here are welcoming and very social. During my first haircut, I chatted with Casper and Damon about sports, movies, TV Shows and just about everything in between. Also, they even offer refreshments to all patrons which is something unusual for your typical barber. Finally, the most important thing, is you are practically guaranteed a great haircut from any of Custom Cuts' Barbers. All I had to tell Damon was the style I had in mind and he did the rest. Sure, these guys take a little longer on your hair, but they do a fine job. Overall, I will rate this place at a 5 and will be coming back for many more haircuts. read more

Never coming back... this used to be our go to barber shop as I have 3 boys and my husband, there are and were a few good barbers but most of their good barbers left this shop, the rest are stuck up barbers thinking they are good, which they are not, they don't listen to what you want, my kid had a choppy hair cut and the other one a line up which we never do. Been coming back even with the crappy job they do but this was the last straw as they didn't want to fix the line up job and the guy said "well too bad it's done already what do you want me to do" go back to school, learn to cut hair better and fix up your attitudes. No wonder so many great barbers leave this shop, and I'm following them! First, let me start off by saying that I'm only giving this place 5 stars because of what certain barber(s) here do when cutting my hair. They do a great job every time I go. Shout out to Eric, someone I'd recommend. The cuts are clean with additional shaving and hot towels. A great environment that just makes it a really laid back place. If it weren't for these certain barbers and if my last visit there was somehow my first time, I'd give this place 1 star and would never come back. The wait can be a little long sometimes (at this place there's no tickets, you just keep track with whose next). I didn't have time to stick around long and a few people were waiting for my usual barber(s), so I decided to get a cut from one of the other guys. Some reviews on yelp say they got cuts from everyone and they're all great but this particular guy fucked up big time. I show him a picture because he's new to me and vice versa. I usually part my hair with a comb over, or slicked it back etc (think about it, you see it a lot today) and that's how the picture looked. But, he couldn't cut my hair based off that picture to save his life. This guy grabs all of my hair that used to reach below my nose and cuts it all off with a single snip from his scissors like he didn't give a fuck. Then proceeds to clip recklessly all around my head with the buzzer. I wanted to knock him out. He tried to tell me some shit like since my hair is a certain way it had to be blah blah blah. The end result looked like shit. Like I was ready for bootcamp. He had the nerve to try and style this military cut. So, now I have to wait and grow my fucking hair back? If my hair was a "certain way" then why didn't I have problems before? Unfortunately, you can't just show any barber a picture. Not to this guy at least. Avoid the weirdest looking, dressed and "totally un-groovy" mofo of a barber that you see there. I'll put it that way. There's my advice. Everyone else is fine, but this guy can't cut. read more

My experience is similar to Tyler B.'s in the review below. When I walked in at 3pm on a Monday, I didn't expect a two hour wait! I've been to trendy barber shops where there is a wait, but I've never had to wait that long without the option of getting an appointment or at least a sign-in. Plus, the three barbers on duty didn't even acknowledge that I walked into the shop. Common courtesy would be to say hello and let the customer know how long the wait is. Instead I had to ask another customer. Before I decided to leave, another guy walked in, looked around and left. Poor customer service skills and double the price of a barber just around the corner on Jefferson who did a great job! I have been taking my boys here for a few years and my youngest gets scared (almost 2) and my oldest is great (almost 4). At first I loved it. (in fact, i am sure I wrote a review previously about how wonderful this place is. ) The haircuts were perfect and we were always treated nicely. The last time we went in, we were the only ones waiting and there were at least 4 guys open for cuts. I patiently waited for at least 15 minutes with my boys. I didn't know if the guys just got there and were setting up their station or if they were avoiding us. Well, as time went on I felt that they were avoiding us because of my young kids. The guy who cut my oldest sons hair seemed to be kind, but completely butchered his hair. No matter how I tried to comb it, there was this huge long piece hanging down in the back, like he just missed it. The other guy who cut my little guys hair (who was sitting on my lap) was a complete ass. He thought he was amazing at everything and was just a jerk. He needs to get a bit of a reality check of how to work with people...especially women and young children. It is called being polite, setting a good example, customer service, being a gentleman. He kept on making rude comments about how I should pay more because of how difficult my son was (really.....my son was not difficult......he was scared and if the guy just was a bit kinder to him, it might have made him feel more at ease). The haircut was okay for my youngest, but I was still disappointed. My biggest issue was how I was made to feel for bringing my kids in here. They should take it as a compliment that I want to bring my boys here to have nice haircuts. I will unfortunately not be coming back here again. I will no longer recommend this place to anyone. If they do not want kids, they should specifically state that they do not take children under a certain age. read more

Tim and Adam have been cutting my hair down in Oceanside for years. Now they've ventured out and just opened their own shop up here in Temecula. I gotta say, this is the shop that Temecula has been waiting for!! It's the real deal!! Really awesome, clean shop with the cool vibe that's made for a place for guys to hang out and BS. Tim's a former Marine and after working outside of Camp Pendleton for many years, knows how to expertly cut Marine hair whether you want a low reg or a moto high and tight. Adam is awesome as well!! I hate that I love this place so much. Eric is the barber I've been going to when I'm in town for 5 years now. Hands down the best barber I have ever in my life been to. I have a barber in NYC, Atlanta, San Diego and LA. And none of them come close. I travel a lot and the worst feeling is needing to see a barber and trying someone new. I will say everyone here is really good so you're in great hands. Eric really takes his time and out of all the haircuts I've had with him, not one was bad. The downfall is I think word got around how talented the men and women at this shop are, so the wait time can be extreme. I began to write this review while watching my bf get his haircut (for about the 3rd time here). We first found this place about a month ago, and Casper did a miracle on my bf's hair!! Never did I imagine my bf could have a normal looking haircut/style! Great cuts here. The do all of the extras. The wait to get your hair cut gets long here. When you take the popularity of this place and couple that with how much longer it takes to get a hair cut here than other places it can get rough. It would be great if they had number system so I can hold my place in line and spend my hour doing something worth while. read more
