Called in to see if they had availability, they said they did and just come in as a walk in appointment. Perfect. Easy to get in... I just needed a trim up as I was only about 3 weeks out from a cut and had family pictures later that day. The barber and I discussed what I was looking for- I asked for a clean up all around not a haircut and I specifically said I did not want to be shaved down to skin around the ears/sideburns or in anyway like the standard fade (if that's you, cool... not my style). I also asked for my hairline to be squared up in the back but not to just cut it up because that's how rookies deal with tough necklines... What's the first thing done? Cuts my neckline in a random place squared up- almost by an inch from my normal neckline. I couldn't tell because I was facing away from the mirror.... But when you're told, they understand, you trust them. Then he proceeds to dive into my sideburns and beard and completely takes me to almost skin on the sides...I ask him to turn me around to look at my beard and it's completely wrong- all the way to the skin, my sideburns gone all the way up into my hairline... I'm like, "dude, I said don't go to the skin..."and his response "yeah, my bad I took it too low..." This coming from a guy that was a "teacher" at barber school? You publicly offered me a refund just like my Google review, but never actually followed through... just like you promised better service "next time" while insulting me by calling my review "drama-queenish"... extremely professional from a business owner. The facts are simple: I gave very clear instructions, and your barber ignored them. My haircut, beard, and even my mustache (which I never asked to be touched) were botched. I had to pay another barber immediately after just to fix what they could. That is not a small mistake, that's a complete failure to deliver the basic service I paid for. Your "apology" means nothing when you don't back it up with action, and your attempt to spin this as my exaggeration instead of your shop's mistake just proves my point. I've been coming to this barbershop for about six years now, ever since middle school. All the barbers here are incredibly talented--no matter who you go to, you'll leave more than satisfied. Lately, I've been getting my cuts from Nico. He's fairly new to the shop, originally from San Diego, and he's never let me down. My nephew needed a haircut, and I was tasked with taking him last minute. It was a Sunday, so I knew most places would be busy, have a long wait or not have time to fit me in. I didn't wanna spend much time waiting around so I called first. I was told there wasn't a wait, so I hurried up and headed there. We walked up to the barber, tucked in an alley, with no one waiting. The place was clean, had big tv's with the football game on, chairs and couches for waiting and 2 people already getting their hair cut. One guy was posted at the front desk and said he was ready and asked what I wanted. I showed him a few pictures and he said it was $15. I thought that was a good price and I let him get started. The guy was professional and was good with my nephew. I wasn't sure how long my nephew would sit still, but he did and the barber adjusted to his movement. Even with him moving around and touching his neck a lot, the barber was patient and did an awesome job. When he finished he asked if I liked it, and if I wanted anything else done. But I like it as is, and was satisfied. My nephew came in looking like a kid, and left looking like a little man. Everyone liked the haircut, and it was a success! Great place to get a haircut! Very cool vibe and Ronaldo is the best. Never gotten a bad haircut from anyone there-- they vet the Barbers they rent chairs to, so you know you're going to get a good haircut from whoever worked there. I work in healthcare with covid patients and they are always understanding about me wearing a mask for everyone's protection. Never gotten any flack and they can cut your hair while you wear it. Plus, they recently put in an online appointment system which has made my life a thousand times easier. Was able to book a haircut a month out right before an important wedding with no problems, and now I can book my haircuts in advance to make sure I can fit it in with my hectic schedule. All day son! I have had three different job interviews within the past 3 years and got taken care of each time here at the Alley. Got all three jobs too! Lol. These guys and gals are on point everyday all day! They have a chill set up for waiting. Wait times are usually 10-30minutes long depending on availability. I think they also allow for appointments. The closet barber that even comes close has a 45min-hour and a half wait time. They offer military discounts, but the usual price is $20/ gentleman's cut. I usually tip $5-10. They are that good. I don't mind paying for a quality cut. Nothing like going to a job interview looking fresh and sharp! Also when I bring my girls with me there is a play area for my baby girls. If you're looking for great haircut, good conversation, good environment then this is your place. I'm in the Marines so I have to get my haircut every week. Needless to say, after 14 years I've seen my fair share of barber shops. This is one of the nicest shops I've been in. Well appointed exterior, nice interior furniture, well lit, etc. Immediately upon walking in I was greeted by "Ever." He stood right up and took me to his chair. It was a slow Sunday he said so there was no wait. He asked me what I had in mind and listened intently as I explained how I liked my hair. Once that was done he got to clipping. As I said before, I've gotten many haircuts in my life. After getting my head shaped so many times you start to know how people cut and whether or not it was going to be a good cut. Right off the bat I knew this guy was good. He took his time and worked like a professional. I felt him take it a little too low in the back so I let him know and he went a little higher. We talked about life and where we've been and seen. He was a good guy through the whole thing. He finished off with a nice straight-razor shave along the edges to clean me up, washed the residual cream off, blew the clippings and showed me his work. There was one thing I wanted cleaned up and he fixed it right away, no questions asked. This will be my weekly spot from now on. I'm more than happy to give them five stars.
