As he was sitting down the barber told 3 kids who were sitting there that they were up next. They hadn't put their name on the list. I then asked the barber if we had to wait for 4 more cuts before it was our turn and he said yes. I would have walked out when I saw 4 people in front of us with one barber working.

For new customers like ourselves, we weren't aware of this and it did not state when we booked our reservation nor was it listed on the confirmation of the booking. Luckily we were able to pay by Zelle. 3) Charlie was past 5 minutes late coming in, so we kind of just sat there and waited not knowing was going on, a heads up would have been nice. Especially when you have it listed that fees will be charged to customers if they are late/miss their appointments or cancel same day. 4) Don't expect to be able to just do a spur of the moment walk in, it's by appointment only! This was just some feedback from our first experience here. Would it deter us from coming back? No. Would it keep me from recommending them to others? Also, no. Charlie was exceptional and more than made up for the few early on hiccups. Not to mention he charged me almost the same price for a whole hair transformation that some of those other places charge just for shaving down the sides. Thank you, Charlie!

I've been going to Max's since I moved to Murrieta in 2009. I was told by some fellow service members to go there for sick fades, and I did (thanks Will P). Depending on when you go like Friday/Saturdays, you might wait for 1+ hours. For me, I'd rather wait for Max Jr. or anyone else there, than go to Stew's or other local barber's and get all messed up! read more

My Son is very fashionable Student athlete (Basketball) he demands his haircuts be done perfect every time he sits in the chair. Jimmy has been the man making it happen for the past few years . The barber and I discussed what I was looking for- I asked for a clean up all around not a haircut and I specifically said I did not want to be shaved down to skin around the ears/sideburns or in anyway like the standard fade (if that's you, cool... not my style). I also asked for my hairline to be squared up in the back but not to just cut it up because that's how rookies deal with tough necklines... What's the first thing done? Cuts my neckline in a random place squared up- almost by an inch from my normal neckline. I couldn't tell because I was facing away from the mirror.... But when you're told, they understand, you trust them. Then he proceeds to dive into my sideburns and beard and completely takes me to almost skin on the sides...I ask him to turn me around to look at my beard and it's completely wrong- all the way to the skin, my sideburns gone all the way up into my hairline... I'm like, "dude, I said don't go to the skin..."and his response "yeah, my bad I took it too low..." This coming from a guy that was a "teacher" at barber school? I see the other barber look over, like he's heard this reaction before. At this point, I've had enough, I get up, I give the guy a $20 because everyone's time has a value and I walk out...

Went in for a hot towel razor head shave and a beard trim and left with irritation and numerous cuts on my head, with one of them being deep. Can't imagine what would have happened if it was a straight razor instead of a safety razor. The foil shaver he used got a closer than the safety razors that were used. I would have just razored it at home, but now I can't because of all the nicks and the cut. While showering to get the stypic powder off that he used to stop the bleeding, it started bleeding again right away. Had to hold pressure and clean the rest of the powder with alcohol. I really wished this was going to be a pleasant barber experience as I wanted to treat myself for my birthday, but it ended being the worst mistake. I am so disappointed that I am starting my family vacation in with cuts all over my head. Worst part is that he wasn't even able to shave my head smooth and left unshaved areas behind both ears.
