A sense of graciousness is almost literally in the air at this compound pharmacy. My theory is the owner and lead pharmacist, Shah Afshar, who models that in his interactions with customer and staff has passed it along to everyone else, including many customers who seem to embrace it for their own behavior when walking through the doors. The sense of welcome and quality of service here is exceptional. This Eagle store has been at this site for a number of years, I think, and sibling to a Boise location. I don't know which location opened first but Customedica has been operating in the area for more than 20 years. My discovery of it was in 2021 when as if the pandemic times weren't challenging enough, I developed an auto immune disorder that requires treatment in flare ups with a compounded medication and the MD who wrote the script suggested I go here to fill it. (If there is a silver lining in every difficult thing, the disease made it very difficult for me to eat in the months needed to have it diagnosed and it sure was fun to eat the six pounds back on when I could do that again. :-) ) "Knock on wood", I've only needed refill of that med a couple of times since but when I do the pharmacy does a great job of filling it for me. They also provide flu shots and I chose them as first option for that last year. And they also fill standard, non compound, prescriptions. They accept insurance, including Medicare I am told, but although I have great insurance coverage, none of it pays for compounded medications. The store has a really nice selection of greeting cards, high end dermatology skin care, and gifts like lovely soap, candles and also things made by local providers. If you are a consumer who embraces the whole being concept of wellness, you'll find good quality brand supplements here too and also, I think, some consulting on what might work best for those along with other wellness lifestyle advice. The staff at Customedica are first rate. Always polite. I needed a consultation today for my medication and I appreciated very much they have a private room where they conduct the consultations. I also appreciate the fact that the male pharmacists all wear a tie. It gives a very professional appearance and I appreciate that. I give the Eagle Customedica top recommendations. Also, I can call in a refill and they always have it ready the next day. And when we need a doctor to reissue the prescription, they take care of that right there at the register. So I tried yet again today to call this pharmacy about a prescription that was sent last week but to no avail. I understand computer issues but why not enlist a person with an alternate phone and put that in your voice mail greeting instead of "we can't help you". This was my first time getting prescriptions from Customedica. I had just moved and needed a new pharmacy. After reading all the horrible reviews of other pharmacies in the area I came up on Customedica and all their great reviews so I gave them a call to see about having my prescriptions transferred over. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told that they would call my old pharmacy and take care of everything for me. I didn't have to do anything but show up a day later to pick up my prescriptions. Always liked working with these people. I have written several good reviews, This is not going to be one. I ordered a prescription as I always do and had them mail it. When I received it it was a completely different pill. The one I usually get can be split in half very easily but not the new one. It denigrates completely to unusable powder. I called them to ask about the situation and was told that they had changed suppliers and if I wanted something different to call my MD and get another prescription ordered to a different pharmacy????????. Sucks to be me I guess. They make their problem my problem and now I have to TRY to get insurance and doctor on same page to allow me to reorder much sooner than usual. Pretty much an impossibility. I love it here! I discovered Customedica when my cat needed medication in a specific dose that needed a real pharmacist to make. When I went to pick up the kitty-scrip I was a delighted to see they have an awesome selection of holistic products, and very cute gifts! Later, when I had specific medical requirement that was a brand name only and not covered by my insurance, I asked my doctor if we could work with them on the dosage and ended up getting the components of said BIG PHARM (please don't get me started) medication at half the price because they made if for me. It's like an old fashioned pharmacy dropped into an aesthetically pleasing space. The candles they carry - voluspa are awesome and I've only seen them before in high end day spa environment. their service is impeccable. We use it for hard to get or specially compounded drugs. They are quick and detail oriented and very personable. They take all medical insurance and medicare. Their specialty is customized compounded medications. With a prescription from your health care provider, they can create unique medications for a variety of health concerns. They do it for humans, but also pets.. They also create products that are no longer available from manufacturers, in addition to liquid forms of drugs that are available only in tablet form for pediatric or veterinary use. I am so happy to have a quality compounding pharmacy in the area. Many of the naturopathic remedies I use have to be compounded. We were especially grateful that they were able to compound a prescription for our dog that had been discontinued by the pharmaceutical companies with no alternative being produced. This is a medication that opens up the airways making it easier for him to breathe. How irresponsible for big pharma to simply pull it off the market effecting thousands of people and pets. Thankfully, Customedica came to the rescue. Shah was the staff member with whom I spoke. He is very knowledgeable and said "no problem" when I told him about our dilemma. He was able to create capsules that we can put in our pup's food. The price was only slightly higher, but we happy to pay for a medication that is literally saving our dog's life.
