You can tell the owner put a lot of thought into the comfort and design of the space. Its very chic and very customer friendly. The business provides free coffee / snacks / and even alcoholic beverages to customers. I tried the coffee during my appointment -- very good! I see Taelor (topknottae) and have been seeing her for several years at different salons. She does a great job and is just the sweetest human. Each stylist has the option to create their own hours. When i went in on a Monday there were only two stylists in so it felt like a very intimate appointment -- I hate when i go to a salon and it's poppin' and people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. If you care about product lines, this salon uses Kevin Murphy. From what I can tell its a high end brand that is exclusive to certain locations. Parking was a breeze. Navigation was a breeze.

The stylist held a conversation with my daughter, which is something that can be hit or miss when you take a kid to salon not specifically geared toward children. The interior was welcoming. Comfortable couches and chairs, magazines and kids books. Everything was bright and clean. As for the hair cut itself, it was exactly what we asked for. Albeit what we asked for was rather simple; a trim with some layers. A blow dry and style wasn't included but when you're looking for quick and cheap, that's not a deal breaker. A wash and cut was very fairly priced which is nice for the stylist because it leaves room for a better tip. Overall, my daughter likes her haircut, my wallet is happy, and I now have place a few blocks from where I live to take my kid for a quick service.

Reddit directed me to Jekyll and Hyde and I made an appointment with Beth. Beth is now my forever hair stylist until she moves on or I drop dead! I never thought I'd find someone on par with my stylist in Chicago, and somehow Beth is even better while saving me some money too. It is obvious that she not only loves but also prides herself in her work. She is meticulous and kind. And I'm always showered with compliments after I've been in for a cut!

She was so great at understanding what I wanted. She took the time to carefully blend several colors and place foils meticulously to give me a gorgeous natural look and a pretty haircut, too. I paid 57 bucks plus tip for this "cut." Once the next appointment showed up, mine was put on fast forward and I was shooed out the door - but not before trying to sell me a bunch of stuff. My hair cut had more lines than a movie script. Also, there was no fade. Just short hair. The hair wash was very nice. When I went back so that they could "fix" the previous attempt, I wasn't charged - though I kinda felt like they shoulda paid me! I'd go there again if you drove and paid for the first cut, and the following "fix it" cuts.

I was ready for a big change! Skylar was amazing and completely surprised me with her recommendations. After learning I would be traveling to Vegas soon, she said I should wait on coloring it so it wouldn't fade in the sun. We also had a long conversation where I discovered the conditioners I was using were too heavy. I was doing too much for my type of hair. She gave me so much layering and body, while lightening the weight. My hair is so much easier to manage now and looks 100 times better. She could have colored my hair and charged me more, but instead told me what i needed. I can't thank her enough!
